Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Am I the only one who did not see that ending coming? I almost fell out of my chair. :(

I knew something was coming, but didn't expect that.
Genuinely struggle to see where the show goes from here now unless its just khaleesi vs lannisters for a while now until the stark boys grow up.

Maybe the uncle leaving for a piss will save him and might reunite them. feck I dunno, if anyone can accurately predict what is going to happen in this show then good on them.

One of my friends was complaining about how there was another story arc to follow now that Brann and his brother were splitting up, they sure cut off quite a few others after that.

It was a very good episode but certainly not what I would have wanted to happen.

AldoRaine mentioned the leeches storyline from a few episodes ago. If Joffrey and Greyjoy Senior are also both for the chop, it could really open up some new avenues for the show, with King's Landing being thrown into chaos hopefully. I'm hoping that Jon Snow and/or Theon can muster up some support from their homelands and possibly form an alliance. I'd love it if Jon and Ygritte became the king and queen of the North. No idea if they'd allow a bastard to be king, mind you.

 That is too awesome. The outrage, the fury.

It's one of the best things about the whole show that they aren't afraid to kill any of the main characters, not even those that everyone loves.

Awesome episode btw.

I love my TV and cinema, but I've become jaded by the sheer predictability of it all in recent years (maybe it's my age). It's rare that I don't see things coming nowadays, but GoT manages to keep me on the edge of my seat like no other show I've ever seen.

Rob Stark has been the main thrust of the show for 2 seasons and in the space of a few minutes, with hardly any foreshadowing, he's gone. Ridiculous but brilliant.

That last episode was ridiculous :lol: That's some character elimination they did
Kinda happy the Stark mother and son die tbh, they have gotten a bit boring and tedious.

Not happy that they died, but they were on a downward spiral for a while weren't they?

They were, I felt that there storyline were going nowhere.Kinda shocked the way they died but still happy

Happy!?!? I'm going to have to take my Rob Stark poster off my wall now FFS!

He was the true King of the North and now the fecking Lanisters are going to take control. Burn them all!!!! DIE!

Honestly, what a terrible way for Rob to go out though. Didnt really have time to react to his wife and child being stabbed to death and his last words "mother" or something. And taken out by these guys instead of the Lanisters themselves. Anti-climactic for him but yes the mother and son storyline was boring. Thats why I would have hoped for some kind of confrontation with the Lanisters. Then I wouldnt give a crap if they died  But now I guess it just sets up Bolton and the old guy as major villains for some of the other characters to come up against

I hope Daario gets killed soon. I'm watching it again, and the scenes with Dany wetting her knickers every time he makes eyes at her are beginning to get annoying.

The Stark family is just being decimated right now. Every single child in the family is/was at a different place - Sansa, Brandon, Rickon, Jon Snow, Arya and Robb. Its sort of unusual to see the main/hero family suffer so many losses while their enemies still stand strong.

Yes happy !! About time the story with the Starks truly moved on.The only true King of the North was Ned Stark.Robb was a chihuahua next to him.Plus he's always reminded me of Hargreaves so good riddance definitely

Agree with both of you, I thought he was Hargreaves' brother right from the first episode of season 1. Not sure Hargreaves could've done all that horse-riding and waring with his knees though.

I don't get why Jon didn't notice their was a direwolf saving his arse. You'd think he'd go "eh? My family have direwolves...". Oh well, i'm going to assume that Sam will meet up with Bran and co while they're trying to get past the wall? Would make sense, considering Sam's an educated fellow and Bran needs guidance. Sam was called a Wizard after all and i'm thinking he'll suit Brans little group down to a tee.

Dickheads. Could've used spoiler tags.

Reporting the lot of you.

If you hadnt seen the episode why enter the thread in the first place? You knew a new episode was going to air tonight and everyone would be talking about it. If anything its your own fault.

He never was. Before Robb, the latest King of The North was 300 years before (before the Targaryans came and united the 7 kingdoms).

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough, I was considering him as the true king even if he really wasn't.Maybe "leader" is better than the word "king" here

Why wouldn't the killing just keep going? What motivation is there to let them go? I thought it was pretty obvious from the moment the moment the music kicked in that everyone in that room was getting slaughtered.

The way they left the scene with them all being stabbed and shot with arrows and then went back to show they were still alive intentionally gave the impression they might make it out in typical TV show fashion. Also, when Catelyn was negotiating for Rob's life there was some more faint hope for him, they managed to play on the typical TV cliches by suggesting that our beloved characters would make it out 'as they always do.'

However, when the doors were closed and the song started playing, we knew shit was going down.
