Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

So theres every possibility that Bran passes the wall, which allows the walkers to get to him (ala the cave) - if thats the case Im waiting for the scene where the walkers approach the wall and with a touch bring it crashing down.
Unless he can figure out how to remove the mark... With dragonglass maybe? Like the white walker magic was removed from Benjen. Maybe Benjen will use the piece inside of him to remove the mark.

The idea is that the same magic that stops the White Walkers and their undead minions from passing the wall would also stop Benjen as he is made the same way they are.
I've never heard of that before in the show, when did we get told?

So basically everybody is panicking for nothing, they can't even get passed the wall anyway.

I have an idea of how whitewalkers will be able to cross the wall. However Ill probably have to back my theory from the book. Please advice on this matter

Probably best posting it on the book thread...

Didnt realise it was magic stopping them from coming south, i assumed it was the 200ft slab of ice in their way.

I guess I'm in a minority here, but I'm often wondering if the GOT would be better off without some of the "magic" stuff. It could have been a 'great medieval kingdoms rivalry' type of a show with incredible storylines just as it is now, with kings, queens, nobles and lowborns, intrigues and battles, bravery and betrayals, etc. etc. The warg stuff, The Faceless Men and the Lord of Light followers are at least interesting and intriguing and therefore are watchable, but dragons or white walkers I could certainly live without. It just seems like something out of a fairy tale for little kids and really doesn't excite me at all.
I don't mind the magic stuff, but it's not really something that gets me excited either. My brother loves any scene that involves dragons and while growing up we've always loved Dinosaurs/Superheroes/Supernatural shit in games. However, in a TV drama, or a film I take seriously, it's the story and characters I really care about. All the sci-fi stuff is just a bonus.

My main criticism of the show is that it sometimes suffers from the vastness of it's own universe, and some of the choices GRRM made about which characters/storylines he pushed forward and which he didn't.

I think that is especially true in the TV format. There are so many houses, plotlines & story arcs it becomes impossible to convey enough detail in a show or movie.

Surely I am not the only one who likes Ramsey? Really don't want him to die as I think the show would miss a great antagonist if he were to leave. I love the character and the actor plays him very well.

I want him to die a truly nasty death. On that befits such a world class psycho cnut.

Im quite surprised at how many people on here just called that a shit filler episode. I was intrigued by the episode, because it was a true nature of the show, a true game being played in different areas of the 7 kingdoms.

The Sparrow playing the game the best by getting the king on his side, but then is Margery playing the game? It seems like it which makes me interested to see where it goes.

Sam is getting a lot of hate, but I thought his story last night was interesting too. Hes got the sword, his family is rich AF.

And yeah, the set up for what looks like a battle with Jamie, Walder, Brienne, etc.

With regards to Arya
I could see her killing that Waif girl, finding out Jaqen allowed it, so Arya takes the face of the Waif to end up getting close to Jaqen to kill him. Thus shes got the tricks and skills needed from the training, but still herself.

I really enjoyed the episode as I have every episode this season. You never want the episode to end.

Show continues its painfully slow descent into mediocrity.

Don't understand the fuss about spoilers - would happily read them if it means I can skip a couple of episodes.

There are lots of places out there you can do just that. Just don't do it here and spoil others viewing pleasure.

Armagh wanted to learn how to kill to murder people who have personally aggrieved her. Not really a good person either.

True but she never actually killed anyone that hadn't killed an innocent person. I see that as being similar to Daenerys killing the slavers. It's an immoral act but letting that person live would have caused even more harm. I just don't see what harm she can prevent by invading Westeros.

I've never heard of that before in the show, when did we get told?

Well I used to think that too but someone here raised a good point a week ago: if Bran being marked by the Night King caused the shield they were hiding in to fail, will him being south of the Wall have the same effect on the magic that's allegedly within it?

hmmm all very coincidental isn't it, don't like things like that happening. Guess we will see how it plays out.

Well, it might not be impossible, they might find a way now that they have their army massed and who knows what counter magic they might have available to them now that they have their massive army built.

Hated the last episode.

Benjen is just conveniently around to be the hero and there were only a few white walkers... I swear the last episode ended with tons of them chasing Bran?

Too much time spent on Sam the fat shit. I don't care about that storyline whatsoever

Arya gets beaten to death and blinded yet wants to persevere to be faceless but all it takes is a woman to say "you can make it as an actress, you have great eyebrows" and she changes her stance all of a sudden?

Khaleesi chatting breeze as usual, have had enough of that!

And most importantly... Margerie doesn't do the walk of atonement? I had dick firmly in hand and it was wasted :(

If we are going to get pedantic, those werent White Walkers that Benjen killed btw.

I really want to see what these "House of the Seven" Gods can do... all we've seen so far is the Lord of Light showing off his shenanigans... you'd have to imagine that Seven Gods must be able to muster something decent between them.

What is that?

I love it all. And you can always watch Vikings which isn't that far away from GOTs without the magic stuff.

Vikings are shit on a stick compared to GOT. I'd had high hopes for that show but gave up on it since because it feels like it's being written by a bunch of ten year-olds. The Last Kingdom is somewhat similar but much better, imo.

I got it wrong, it's the Faith of the Seven ... it's what those religious nuts/most of Westeros believe in I think (apart from that Drowned God.. and probably some others)
The north believes in the old gods. The trees with faces on them.

So we got the white walkers invading from the North, Dany and her dragons, and her blood thirsty horde who will come on the Greyjoy ships invading from -insert some direction-......

I agree on the whole but I make an exception for dragons for some reason. I do quite like the dragons.

They've already given us a pretty big clue on what happens with the flashbacks Bran gave us way back in Season 4 when he touched that tree north of the wall.

I like Vikings but I agree GoT is better. Rome, however, is better than both for me, and I think its the realism element that gives it the edge over GoT for me.
