Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I can imagine Ramsay turning into a fearsome whitewalker....

Not sure what to make of that episode. The Dany stuff seems to just have gone around in a massive circle since S1 without any apparent progress of particular value.

Sansa I just cannot bring myself to like, even if she has suddenly turned on Cartman mode, although the scenes at the wall were generally good.

The Iron Islands scene was a bit cringy.

Nothing has really truly happened at Kings Landing all season thus far, at least nothing that couldnt have been summised in about 10 minutes.

We didnt get to see from Bran who has had one of the most interesting storylines this season (after 4 seasons of faffing about and then a year off). Nor did we see Arya, whose story arc has also been dawdling around doing nothing.

Still, all can be redeemed by Dany's tits of course.

We've waited almost a year and we're almost halfway through the series already. Depressing.

Enjoying this season so far, and we haven't even seen any white walkers yet. Feeling some sort of tension in just about every scene except in the Meereen snoozefest (even though it picked up a little in ep. 4).

They've been pretty PG+ with the violence so far this series (with a couple of notable exceptions), so I'm guessing they'll be ramping it up in the latter half of the season. It's going to be a battle galore by the looks of it; Jon & his wildlings against Ramsay, Daenarys against the slavers and Cersei against the faith militant. You know King's landing is going to be a bloodbath/brain-matter bath with nutters like Zombie-Clegane about.

As a few have said already, series 6 is shaping up nicely, with some epic tussles on the horizon. Was a great episode tonight with the last few minutes paused and played over and over for good effect (thank you Daenerys!). I love how they're still offing people when you're not expecting it! Just hope they get to Rickon before Ramsay's had his way with him...probably unlikely as there are very few 'saved in the nick of time' moments in this season. Olly's demise was most satisfying!

Just wish the episodes were longer. So much building up now with Baelish/Snow & Sansa, the Greyjoys, Tyrells & Lannisters, Daenerys & the Dothraki. Some serious shit's gonna hit the fan soon. I just don't know why they haven't just raided the cells for Lancel and Margaery and told High Sparrow and his goons to feck off. What is it with that storyline anyway? That Robin looks like a weird little shit too. Another Joffrey in the making methinks!

No Dorne, Arya or Brandon stuff this time round? So many storylines to keep up with is very frustrating.

Great Daenerys has another army she'll do feck all with.

Good episode overall.

Nice to have Littlefinger back & didn't take him long to start manipulating the situation. Thought the scenes at Castle Black were very good & finally Sansa is standing up for herself/her family. Really looking forward to the coming battle between Ramsey & Jon with Littlefinger helping out.

Couldn't give less of a feck about Daenerys or Mereen. Both stories are boring IMO. Daenerys is going in circles - helpless, stuck in trouble, comes out of it with an army/slaves loving her, does feck all, repeat.

Probably for the first time I was supporting Cersei but I reckon there's something going on there.
I think she's hidden something from Granny Tyrell & has played the old lady. We never got to see what Tommen said to Cersei, it might be he told her Margery will be released without the walk of shame but Cersei's seized the chance to use the Tyrell army to go to war with the cult.

Theon's story also doesn't interest me. Rather have that & Mereen cut out so we could see more of Arya & especially Bran.

Just watched the 4th episode:

Pluses:
  • Margaery Tyrell is great. One of my favourite characters. I like that she played along with the HS but saw through his BS while still staying strong.
  • JS and Sansa was fantastic. Did more for her character than the last season and a half. I got tired of seeing her destroyed again and again and I'm delighted that we're seeing more of her personality.
  • Littlefinger is an evil and brilliant b@st@rd. I imagine the Vale's army could take the Boltons by itself.
  • Brienne and Thormund is now the best love story of all time.
  • Cersei is still brilliant and her scene with the others in the Small Council was awesome. Her and Olenna is great to watch.
Cons:
  • It seems like Mel might not be able to just avoid her actions which is a shame as I quite like her (though she has it coming).
  • JS seemed to have a new haircut. Don't fix what ain't broken.
  • Dany is boring tbh. I was worried she'd end up in charge of the Dothraki as soon as she got picked up last season. Everytime she seems to be stuck, she gets a new army from somewhere. I'm surprised she doesn't have cannons or submarines at this point. If Sansa had her luck, she'd be ruling the White Walkers ffs.
  • No Arya. :nono:
Question marks for next episode:

  • Margaery is still defiant so did the HS lie to Tommen about her walk of "atonement" to trick Cersei and Olenna into attacking?
  • What's Tyrion up to? He really can't be settling for 7 years of slavery. DT will "renegotiate" as soon as she gets back anyway.
  • Will Danaerys get the support of the Marine Corps, the SAS or the Spetsnaz next episode?

Despite all the cons I listed, I thought it was a very good episode. I'm naturally negative so remember the minuses though.

I was surprised that Sansa arrived at Castle Black this episode. Figured they would draw out her journey for another few episodes and find a way for her to get captured by someone else evil.

 I wonder how this new bunch are going to get killed off.

I think the same. Margaery Tyrell seemed pretty far away from any confession. Either HS has something up his slieve for Margaery, he's playing Cersei and Tommen or Cersei is playing Olenna.

This was different. This was the first time Danaerys used suicide bombing as a tactic.

One thing I didn't like was that at the end, her hair band was still unburnt. A couple of things I did like, though.

Baelish still hasn't decided what his accent is.

Hes basically Steve McClaren, doing whatever accent makes him feel at home and make others warm to him. Im waiting for the scene where hes stuck in the middle of two armys and he changes his accent based on who hes talking to.

Liked the episode until that ending. Daenerys knocking down those flames one by one to kill everyone was really typical of her storyline which I usually find myself not particularly liking.

The stuff in the North was very good as usual. Didn't expect the reunion that early, but the direction that story is (unexpectedly) headed in is very good.

Same here, that had to be the stupidest thing I`ve seen in a major show in a long time, just throwing down flames , incredibly lame

Good episode up until the ending. We've seen it all before where she's turns god mode and they endear to her on their knees.. her brooding look and pout mouth gaze around her minions. We get it she's a fecking queen or thinks she is one. Now she'll travel back to Mereen and wonder for the rest of the season where her dragons have gone and why she has no fleet of ships. So her story progression is basically back to square one.

I think the Sansa plot will play out with some kind of Trojan Horse device... can't see it resulting in misery for Sansa again, surely we've she's endured enough of that by now?

I love the craziness of the line "I'll spoon out your eyes, come and see."

She claims it was all her.

Fair enough, I had heard that she had a clause in her contract now, so she would have body-doubles.

Great Daenerys has another army she'll do feck all with.

This is not just another army, this is hundred of thousands of dothraki the horse fecker clan. Hooray Danny.

With Tyrion/Jonah/Unsullied and the westeroos alliance she'll gonna rock hard.

I have a feeling that the KL war will be swift and the majority of the battle would be whatever left against the white lurker. It's bound to happen, I don't see KL offering much to resist 3 dragons and dothraki

PS: Show us missandei's tits!

What ever happened to the original lot of Dany's dothraki? Last we saw them was when they were guarding her tent in season 4, not even a mention since.

Agree. I'd also like to see more of Bran and Arya, and less of those Mereen/Daenerys/Theon Killjoy (I don't mind him but he's just such a crybaby)

he would need to ask for fire lady to please make him a shadow baby if he wants to have any sort of chance against Brienne
 Yep

"Mi Lady, I have always hated your cuntishness, but could I please request the services of your cnut just this once to make super ghost baby, who will...."

THWACK!

Unbelievable that we still have to delete posts from stupid feckwits who can't read the title and spoiler policy and are still not using spoiler tags for ... spoilers, and speculation.

From now on it's insta thread bans for anyone who doesn't follow the simple rules.

At the same time it would be stupid if she never used it to her benefit, then people would be complaining why didn't she just flame on.

Thankfulky I reckon her story will quicken in pace now quite substantially. It's a shame they ruined that plot, the bit with dragons shouldn't be the dullest

Well yeah, it's literally the end to the first season. Which is why it had zero impact other than a :boring: the second time around apart from all the tweens that got a twinge at the sight of her mammary glands.

Man, that Ramsay is a true psycho.

They should make him run to Dorne and inject some life in that godforsaken place.
