Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I agree with you. It seems the shackles are lifted from the directors and they dont have to wait around too much (possibly to match it with whats already been written)? It seems like things are moving faster, eg
Resurrection happened in ep2
Dorne taken over in ep1 (and hasnt been seen since, yes)
Khaleesi in charge now and free in ep4
Arya got her sight back in ep3
Jon + Sansa reunion straight at top of ep4.

Things are going by at a good pace for the most part. Even cliffhangers are pretty much being dealt with the next episode

couldn't agree more, it's getting exciting with all the arcs converging at a faster pace. This looks feisty, oh and missandei

I mean in the sense that they have left the show on cliffhangers, all very obvious if given the time to digest. I mean, like in the Jon Snow resurrection, you can't have Ser Davos saying that he has seen Mel do unimaginable things, show that Mel part and then expect Jon Snow to remain dead!

I really don't understand this, there aren't any true cliffhangers now, everything is being dealt with quickly. Maybe I completely misunderstood you.

I'm guessing he means me. I put it inside two spoilers with a very clear warning for the second spoiler. I didn't realize it was frowned upon. Will edit it.

I mean the parts where they pause a character's story, what will happen next is a bit predictable especially at the place where they stop. I mean, they are giving far too much away in the episode prior to the actual incident: Like Jon Snow's resurrection, Bran's warging part, etc.

Certain cases where it works and others where it doesn't, for me. Arya's story needed to be sped up. They couldn't spend 8 episodes on her "training" so I'm not even counting that one. But while things moving quickly is great in the North (as it seems to be the most engaging of all arcs/places), Daenerys being trapped at the Khal widow "jail" and seemingly facing an uphill struggle for freedom but managing to accomplish that by pushing down a few lamps was just brainless stuff. They need to find a balance so it doesn't get very "hollywood blockbuster"-ish, and that's exactly where that story went for me, sadly. Proper hero stuff by Daenerys.

Had a terrible feeling Dany would spend most of the season stuck there until she got rescued. Getting it done in four episodes is fine by me.

This season is going at a much quicker pace than last year and has improved in quality too.

 Awesome

I wouldnt say brainless stuff. In fact its pretty much the first time shes done anything with urgency and pretty much by herself. She used something (like being fireproof) to her advantage. In fact it was probably the only way she could take care off them in one swoop whilst not endangering others.

I liked how it was done. She gave a speech, they laughed at her didnt take her seriously and pretty much the leader got up and said were all going to feck you and use you. At that moment she tipped the fire and trapped them. There was no escape, the few who tried the door couldnt get out and given the ban on weapons, they couldnt really attack her. She was standing in the fire protected by it whilst the fire was crashing collapsing things down on them. The only path to her was then covered with the third fire she pushed down.

Much better than the two wish crushes on her just saving her and fighting there way out against all odds.

The two guys rescuing her against all odds would not have ended with her being the leader of the Dothraki, instead it would have made her an enemy of them. Unless.....in the escape her dragon or dragons came to her rescue burning up the leadership and causing the rest to fall in behind her because...well.....dragons.

She was not going to talk her way into a leadership role. Her story has to be a bit more than "Oh she has dragons" and dragons trump all the things. For her to be a leader she has to be inspirational in some way, the freeing the slaves bit did not seem to work or at least was going to be a slow painful process. She has not yet been willing to unleash the dragons wholesale against all her enemies, she has used them a couple of times, but does not yet seem to relish the idea of dragons torching all her enemies. So appearing to be a more than a bit magical is nice way in this world to inspire followers.

I'm so fecking happy Jon didn't miss Sansa.

This got good, there's gonna be a big feck off fight this season for sure.

Sansa: You were such an ass to me

It would be alot simpler to police. One thread purely for those who wish to review the episodes they have just watched, spoiler free and the other thread for pure speculation based on the future TV episodes. Those who need to catch up on episodes etc should be told to stay away and catch up in their own time.

The book thread should be a complete free for all in my opinion. I have never read the books but once I got to season 5 of the TV series, I wanted more background knowledge of the show and reading about the various theories etc has enhanced rather than ruined my enjoyment of the show.

It is an absolute car crash at the moment and I don't envy you mate, it seems like an impossible job at present.
The bigger problem right now is people casually mentioning what happened in GOT in random threads despite being warned about it and that thread being made warning people not to do it. Earlier today someone posted in Olly's username thread "You're just butt hurt they hanged olly "

I caught it within 10 mins but that sort of stuff is still a bitch to police and an additional thread won't do shit for that problem, which is the bigger one at present.

I thought they were gonna reveal that Ser Jorah and the other cnut did something special, like pouring some flammable liquid on the floor in order for the place to burn easier and quicker. It turns out, that Wonderwoman Daenarys, didn't need them at all.

I am absolutely loving this season.

I almost cried when Jon and Sansa got reunited.

Baelish clearly has control of the Eyrie now and the army that comes with it so it seems he is about to become a major player and now Danaerys has an even bigger army and the it seems the Lannisters and Tyrells are joining their armies.

There is going to wars every where we bloody turn at this rate!

Also for some reason I found it hilarious the way Ramsey ate his apple after he stabbed Osha. I also found his letter to Jon hilarious with the repeating of 'come and see'. I think Ramsey may be my favourite character. :nervous:

they blocked the exit door... the most important part of the plan.

Nah the most important part of the plan was that the Dothraki saw her boobs.

He boobs got a dozen or so to follow her in the S1 finale so she obviously hoped it would work again.

Yes, i can see how you missed that. It's not like it's in the title, or in the spoiler rules that were recently posted across the entire site, or on every single page of this thread.

@JustAFan Agreed - I thought it was well done. I bet the other thread is crying cos something is not the way they wanted it, or not the way it was explained when it was written or something along the lines even though they are two different mediums.

Im really enjoying this season. Last season had one of my favourite ever episodes but other than that, everything else seemed a bit of a drag despite looking visually great.

Well they were needed for the door blocking (as mentioned above). TBH, it just takes one line the next time we see them or walking for it to be mentioned that they made it flammable. Saying that, they can just say the place that was set on fire was flammable. Not really something to pick apart imo given how it flowed, that scene.

Well, she pushed over flaming braziers that consisted of flammable liquid in a "temple" made of straw and wood. Not like it would take much to burn.

fecking amazing episode i thought. really consistent pace so far this season, leading up to a lot of potential conflicts being settled.

Cool episode but that's enough of Danaerys fecking about about outside Westeros. She needs to finally invade.

Hope Ramsey gets what's coming.

It's mentioned that I can't talk about the actors in the title ? The spoiler rules are not threadmarked, so I din't know which page to refer as well... :nervous:

Much better episode overall in my opinion, seemed to be less filler and more tits. Setting up the small skirmishes nicely.

Nice ep, better than likes weeks snoozefest. Dany's acting is bad but cracking tits it has to be said.
