Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I liked that episode. Before I go on reviewing it, can someone tell me what place was on the map in the intro right before it pans into Mereen? I don't think I have ever seen that in previous intro's.

The Eyre

I think it is where Littlefinger's madwoman queen lived, presumably where he met the useless little archer shit in this episode.

Yeah, thats Cat Starks sister, the one that breastfed that useless archer way back in S1 when Tyrion was held captive. Also the same place where Littlefinger took Sansa, when he pushed Cats sister down the skyhole.

Littlefinger is basically in charge of that place now and manipulating everyone to do his bidding.

Good to see Blondie start something interesting again. But I don't think that was her nude...

But before any assumptions are made about Clarke’s participation in the scene, there’s something the actress wants everybody to know. “I’d like to remind people the last time I took my clothes off was season 3,” she says. “That was awhile ago. It’s now season 6. But this is all me, all proud, all strong. I’m just feeling genuinely happy I said ‘Yes.’ That ain’t no body double!”

She looked great too, chubby arms or not.

If Davos ends up killing Brienne....

Great episode. Finally got the Starks reunion, after 4 seasons. This season has been great so far and with a faster pace than last one's.

The Khaleesi stuff wasn't great in general, the Khals were just caricatures waiting to die. The method and the outcome, while not wholly original, was good though and having her rescue herself was an important and powerful statement.

Tyrion's deal with the slavers doesn't sit well with me, Missandei or Greyworm, goes against everything Danny has stood for.

Osha, poor, poor Osha, another thing I'll never forgive Theon for. I think that should be the last we see of Ramsey in psycho-mode, they've rammed it down our throats enough, lets see him strategizing for war now please.

That letter , it was like a sadistic 5 year old writing about what he's going to do on his summer holiday.

Littlefinger!

Davos, Brienne and Melisandre is not going to end well. Snow is going to have to display some top diplomacy skills to make them play nice.

I love a bit of Sansa and that reunion was very sweet, not that it lasted long before the sweetness was replaced by blood lust, strong women definitely the theme of the night.

I was laughing hard at Ramsey's letter, it sounded exactly like something that psychopathic idiot would write without someone proof reading it.

I got your brother, come and see
I will feck your sister, come and see
I'll gouge your eyeballs, come and see
I'm the boss now, come and see.
Sounds like Grime bars.

Loved it good to see Jon smile a little. That hug gave me goosebumps.
I was hoping Drogon would eat all of those Dothrakis who wanted to 'taste' Daenerys. I just want to see more dragons !

I was hoping the dothrakis would eat the drogons, I just want to see more dothraki tasting daenerys, oh probably I want to see the horses too :P

For the first time I actually like Sansa.

I actually think by the end of the show Sansa is probably going to be one of the most interesting characters in terms of character arc (assuming she survives that long). If you watch the pilot you'll see what I mean, she's already completely different and now she's in a safe place with Jon by her side I think we'll see her flourish. Excited to see her development tbh.

Just realising this after seeing the credits for last night's episode but the bloke Baelish was manipulating was the father of the first person ever to die in the series, that Night's Watchman who got killed by the White Walkers.

To be honest Brienne just needs to get the feck over this Renly bollocks, she's served about fifty thousand people since then. Then to come and gloat to Davos who was as devoted to Stannis far more than she ever was to Renly is just tasteless.

I thought it was kinda badass of Brienne, that woman neither forgives nor forgets.

Depends how it goes. Brienne will probably want to kill Mel.
Davos will probably want to kill Brienne until she realises what happened to Shireen then will probably be happy with her but hate Mel.

So yeah, Mel is screwed

But at least we (well some on here) got the confirmation that Stannis is dead that they wanted.

That was already confirmed in the first episode wasn't it ? When Ramsey spoke to Roose Bolton ?

Yep, but im sure some didnt believe it cos it was hearsay (something along the lines of if it doesnt happen on screen, it cant be confirmed). Saying that

I wouldnt be surprised if cos of this, they then somehow bring back the Hound who was left in similar circumstances but managed to survive / was helped by somebody when ayra stepped away.

Re-watched season 1 a week ago, just saw the surname match did a quick google and here we are
You better be careful with googling stuff regarding GOT especially if you are like us people in this thread who haven't read the books.

Yeah same here. She just went from nobody to becoming a huge player in the North. Hopefully Snow and her can retake Winterfell. She has got alliances with Baelish too. Very interesting to see how this season turns out.

You never forget your first though.

I personally loved the juxtaposition between the season one finale and season six ep four ending. Although having Dany do something badass of her own accord is kinda of jarring!

touche

You still havent edited it to take it out :nervous:

It was cool. finally she doesnt have to rely on others to do something big. Granted she didnt require anybody at the end of season1 (think it was Drogos blood?)

any idea why bronn hasnt featured yet?

In search of the Bad Pussy...:smirk:

Not seen the latest ep so trying to avoid spoilers - anyone got a stream for the latest episode? My usual site hasn't uploaded it yet for some reason

Is it just me or is this season genuinely slower than previous ones? Like last season, Jon might have announced intention to attack Boltons, but this season- no action. It's become a bit predictable also(especially for major characters) like, in Jon's case again, they gave far too big a hint that Jon will be resurrected in 1st ep, and when they showed Bran warging that deep in the past, they basically pointed to the fact that next episode Bran will warg to the war where R+L =J theory is confirmed.
Like today, they basically did say, that Jon will be attacking and DAny will now return to Essos with Dothrakis fighting for her

I don't know about the others but I think the complete opposite. The pace has been very quick.

Without reading anything, was there no 4th episode yesterday?

Also loving the wilding chief whos name I always forget being fascinated by Brienne.

Only critism I have of this thread is not enough Davos. I thought he'd be stuck to Snows side but he was missing in the letter scene no?

Wildling sleaze  good scene that.

I mean in the sense that they have left the show on cliffhangers, all very obvious if given the time to digest. I mean, like in the Jon Snow resurrection, you can't have Ser Davos saying that he has seen Mel do unimaginable things, show that Mel part and then expect Jon Snow to remain dead!

I agree with you. It seems the shackles are lifted from the directors and they dont have to wait around too much (possibly to match it with whats already been written)? It seems like things are moving faster, eg
Resurrection happened in ep2
Dorne taken over in ep1 (and hasnt been seen since, yes)
Khaleesi in charge now and free in ep4
Arya got her sight back in ep3
Jon + Sansa reunion straight at top of ep4.

Things are going by at a good pace for the most part. Even cliffhangers are pretty much being dealt with the next episode
