Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I really hope they don't kill Ramsey, butthey probably will, given how they've shown the terrible shit he did to Sansa etc. I think Sansa will regain Winterfell and flay him.
I'd like Osha to chew his sausage off. We know how Wildlings have a taste for human meat.

What does this even mean? Sounds incredibly

That emoticon.

Probably Gregor vs Sandor if that's ever going to happen, we still don't know if the Hound is alive or not.
Love the Hound, but if he's still somehow alive wandering around Westeros that'd be bullshit. Then again, we're talking about a show that has re-created Franken-Mountain and brought the dead back to life.

have to say as a book reader I'm really enjoying the show now not knowing whats happening

they are handling the various story developments very well and the show is well-paced

can't understand the criticism....

will Rickon keep his dick on?

and then there's the dragons, giants riding mammoths and maddest of all - midgets fighting in battles

Hound is gone. He was never that important of a character. Just a really entertaining one.

He was far less dead than his brother and Gregor survived. I just think if he was really supposed to be dead, Arya running needle through him would have made for better TV and they'd have done it that way. He's responsible for some of the shows best lines/moments and was surely worth a better end than some off screen bleed out?

Hopefully the Sand Snakes got trapped in some sort of SpaceTime-warp when they were teleporting back to the docks in Dorne, and we'll never see them again.

Would fit well with their narrative so far, but I fear we'll see plenty of them in the next episode since they were not to be seen this week. Or hopefully the producers have seen the way EVERYONE hates their guts, and decided to cut out most of their scenes

I don't think it's that big of a deal that big characters don't get a huge send-off. Assuming Stannis is dead, he went just as tamely.

Aye you could be right. Stannis was avenged by Brienne to end her several seasons long dream of avenging Renly and at least we got to see the sword swing. I just can't think of a reason Arya wouldn't have run him through herself and ticked another name off the list. This idea that she grew a heart and took him off the list seems weak, if nothing else - a quick end would have been kinder. I'm probably way over thinking it.

Just trying to get through Book 2 (difficult to get through 1000 pages of fine print when you know broadly what happens) when do the books start to look a bit more different than the TV Show?

Just came across the tale that the Stark's descended from a King Beyond the Wall

if I remember correctly it was minimal up until season 4 - small changes really - last season there were a few major changes to plot lines involving major characters though

the books are a bit different in the way they tell the story though as well - think Book 1 and 2 were linear in time - 3 and 4 were at the same time in different parts of Westeros (i think?) and 5 was more linear again

so really from last season when there was one major part of the show which hadn't been in the books

Ffs how hard is it not to discuss theories/spoilers? @DavidG spoil that, or delete it!

I was going to be polite and point you to the book thread.... Then I accidentally read your spoiler which wasn't protected when quoted.

Is there anyway this thread will ever be safe from anyone?

On the other had there was a poster last acting with incredulity that information form the book appeared in the TV series because it seemed too convenient that there were rules around the widows of Khals.

Anyway, hideous thread that only spoils my enjoyment of book and series. Ban me, for the love of God ban me.

Can someone , without being a twat , explain the spoiler thing to me when using a phone ? I thought I had it but I guess not. Have never used it before

Is the trailer for the next episode knocking about?

Just tag me with any repeat book spoiler offenders and I'll ban them from this thread. Fed up of people moaning about the offending going on. Rules shouldn't be that hard to understand.

Just had a dip into the book thread and they're laughing at all the spoilers in here :(

Its kinda obvious people have either read books or read theories / spoilers online with the way things are casually mentioned that have nothing to do with the show (or no real indication of it ever happening).

eg people pissed that something wasnt shown because it doesnt quite yet confirm a theory. ugh...

The rules arent that hard tbh.

so is everyone enjoying the season thus far? Who's character are you most excited to see develop?

Not really a spoiler but
yes, enjoying it. And looking forward to Jon Snow, Brann Stark and Arya Stark... so yeah, stark family lol

I was just making sure I knew how to do the spoiler tag

Personally, I would love to see their guts on the screen, they deserve a painful death for their acting (or the lack of)

Small neat detail I saw pointed out on the AV Club: When Tommen is speaking to the High Sparrow he says "I am the King" at one point, while a few seasons ago Tywin said that anyone who has to say "I am the King" isn't really.

Difference is they made a point of confirming Stannis' death while leaving the Hound's fate open-ended. I don't know what happens to him in the books but I bet the TV show brings him back regardless.

I think the Stannis thing was a writing "trick" of sorts. "Well it doesn't matter if they didn't show the hound die, they didn't show Stannis's death either and he's been confirmed dead." The hound is alive and well.

If so its a lame trick

Caught up with the first 3 episodes and....who is the man in the tree? I recall seeing him in Star Wars

I liked Ramsay's ice cold murder of his dad and brother. That's the kind of ruthlessness that will be needed to beat the ice walkers. I think I actually prefer him to Jon Snow. Little shit Olly stabs you in the heart and you look like you're going to cry when you need to execute him? Pathetic stuff, they should've let you rot in a ditch

Btw, just checked - Jon Snow's murder involved like 15 people or so. All of whom stabbed him
1. Why are there so few scars on him?
2. Why did he execute just 4 of them?
