Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Decent episode.

The Ned fight was very well done, makes you wonder how they got that Dorne fight so wrong really.

Was that the tunnel to the other side of the wall that Jon went through?

The Olly death was pretty satisfying, seeing his bloated, discoloured face gave me a warm feeling inside, twat.

Alliser's death was well handled, sad to see him go in a way but he got his moment.

The Tyrion stuff fell a bit flat, there has always been funny bits in GOT but at the moment they feel a bit forced, we even had the same joke repeated twice in one episode, the 'little birds' and the small council being scared to walk past the Mountain.

Still no Littlefinger.

I guess we're meant to think she's being attacked/raped but I'm thinking it's actually screams of childbirth and that she's Snow's mother.

I'm slightly frustrated with how many story lines there are, you just get comfortable with it then 'oh,guess I'm waiting till next week to see what happens with them'

That's how Bran feels right now.

"No Bran, you must not go through that door. It is dangerous to stay too long...and the characters involved were cast for episode 7."

Great episode overall. Was feeling a bit worried that Jon will act his soft self and spare Olly, but it was nice seeing that little prick die.

Anyone else feel tired of the whole Starks chasing fools gold storylines? Every time one wants to meet the other, that other either dies or leaves. Come on now.

Already getting a much better feeling from this season than S5. And as great as that Ned Stark fight scene was, it really does show up last season's fight scene in Dorne.

I don't blame Jon. What's the point of a Nights Watch with 40 members against thousands of Whites?

Sad for Shaggy Dog. Looks like Ramsey has got some new play things. I hope Osha cuts his manhood of when he attacks her.
I think I know who the bodies on the Flayed Crosses are now. Rickon a day Osha. I wonder if that young Lordling who refused to bend a knee will join them?

Decent episode. As expected, it was a lot slower than episode 2 with the primary focus being Story development. I really like Snow's arc now. He still finds it a very surreal experience to be alive again and is probably adjusting to this new experience. Lord Varys's conversation with Dom's mother (I forgot her name), was cringeworthy as hell. I mean how many times does he need to use the word 'perception' ffs. Tyrion was  as always. Most of the story in Kings's Landing also seemed like a lot of filler to me. In retrospect now that I have typed all this, it was a pretty weak episode.

Special mention to Ser Arthur Dayne (Hope I spelt it correctly). That 4 vs 1 battle was pretty badass, though the version of that battle seems to be different to what Bran was told by his father, which is a little interesting. Btw, who is this guy ?? Any mention of him before?

Also, if ever they were going to fast forward the whole Karate Kid/Rocky storyline, Arya's way is a pretty sweet way to do that. I'm glad they didn't drag it out and make it a repetition of last season.

6.1 felt like a setup episode for 6.2. This felt like a reset to build up to another climax, but will require a few more episodes...
I was pretty much thinking the same thing.

So jon will march to winterfell with some wildings to save rickon?
What about Sansa ? She's on her way to Castle Black. So will she just meet Snow midway or something ?

According to Wiki, Episode 4 is titled, "The Book of the Stranger".

He's a legendary knight and a member of the King's Guard of the previous king. He was known to be a particularly chivalrous, honourable and valiant knight. Also one of the deadliest and most skillful swordsmen to ever live.

He's been mentioned a few times in the show, by Ned and Barristan, I think. He's basically the prototype of the perfect medieval knight and everyone loved him.

Ok. Those scenes really confused me to be honest. Not sure what was happening. Hopefully, another flashback will make it clearer.

At first I thought it was Jamie who backstabbed Ser Arthur Dayne. The man who did it looked like him a lot in that scene. Plus it's a known trait of Jamies. The flashback scenes are great though.

I liked the bit with Ned and the stuff with Jon. I thought the rest of it was just filler Including the Tyrion bit. It might grow their story arcs but there was nothing there that couldn't have been done in a few minutes.

I think the Rickon thing was just throwing Ramsey another bone to chew on. I'm really getting fed up with his story now. It's passed time someone put him out of his misery.

If Jon and Sansa pass in the night again I'll be annoyed as hell. Been there done that. Find a new plot line already.

Rewatch the scene and listen to what Ned is saying. He more or less explains the context of the situation. It's important to know that Ned was part of the rebellion against the king at the time, and Dayne was on the other side (being in the King's Guard), so these two groups in that scene are basically at war.

This episode also contained my three favourite words in GOT: Trial by combat.

Decent episode, really set the pace for the things to come. We already know that things are hanging on a thin thread in King's Landing and although things seem to progress really slowly for some, i really love the way both the High Sparrow and Cersei are trying to manipulate Tommen. After all, any big decision has to go through him. It was also nice to see Olenna Tyrell again, she's a very strong player who knows how to have her way.

Arya's story arc seems to be progressing too and it looks like that either we've seen the end of her training or we're very close to it. Yet, i admit i felt kind of sad after her test of drinking the water in the temple... like we've lost another member of the Stark family.

Rickon seems to be in deep shite but...
maybe that scene with Varys explaining who are the little birds and, after that, with the kids who are giving Qyburn information and with Cersei later on including the North in the places she wants to know what's going on is more important than we think. Ramsay likes to torture his prisoners and that will give enough time for the news of Rickon's appearance to arrive to King's Landing

Lord Umber's request of men to fight against the Wildlings gives us a "promise" of two armies clashing towards the end of the season, one led by Ramsay and the other led by Jon. That would be fecking glorious... Plus it's known that the final episode of this season is going to be 69 minutes long, there has to be a big battle .

Until then, the Red Woman regained the "the Lord of light will kick everyone's arse" look on her face and we now know that she really means business. It seems that a Stark reunion, any Stark reunion, won't happen in this lifetime now that Jon's left the Night's Watch. We also learnt that Bran isn't destined to replace the Three Eyed Raven but he's there to learn the truth about the past.

Speaking of the past, great battle scene with young Ned. In the previous episode, during the flashback, we saw one of the key characters of the past, Lyanna, but most of us didn't pay much attention because of Jon's resurrection. Now, it feels like we're getting closer to learning the truth about the past. But i feel this flashback did hurt Ned's reputation (we all know that he used to accuse Jamie of stabbing the mad King at the back). So, there may be more to it than we think.

Finally, i believe they are trolling us with Daenerys. She would possibly give the most Disney-like ending to the show(given she's one of the favorites among the viewers), they know it and they're trying to make her as boring as they can...

Yeah, even the tyrion bit was filler too, but since it was tyrion, I gave a mandatory . I think it's pretty obvious why Rickon has suddenly been introduced into the story, but I think that is still a few episodes away I feel.

And I don't actually think what you posted in the spoilers is likely to happen. If they did something like that, I am not sure how many more filler they would need to come up with.

Yeah, I saw the scene. It's just the time period confuses me a little. Ned asks where Lyanna is and there is a mention of The Mad King and Rhaegar Targaryan lying beneath the ground. So I assuming they are dead and this is after the war.

Yes, it's right at the end of the war, after the main battles.

Just watched the episode, the only interesting parts included the Starks as per usual.

I feel bad that Shaggy Dog is dead, couldn't care less about Rickon tbh. I was expecting Jon to come back and carry on as Lord Commander just be a bit more rough and straight thinking. It will be weird to see where he goes, especially as he has no army to help Sansa.

Everything else in the story is just getting so boring right now. Dany is doing the same old repetitive stuff since season 1. They're still talking about the sons of the harpy but not doing anything about it. Cersei is still doing nothing, same with Tommen. Basically anything that isn't in the north is just boring.

EDIT: Glad bloody Olly is dead.

Also the fact that they didn't show La in The Lyanna Tower of Joy really pisses me off. All that waiting and they don't even confirm whether or not she is Jon's mum.

I've not read the books. I just know about a few theories because I've heard of them.
I am aware of them too. I just wouldn't dream of posting it here. The theories you posted are very much book related since the show makes no real mention of clues to hint it.
