Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I think that the scene with the beheading was one of the best in the series. Just comedy gold

I thought she was an incest child.
She is. Rhaegar, her oldest brother, was married to Elia of Dorne, Doran's sister. So Dany and Doran aren't really family.

Oh yeah, definitely a gem hidden amongst the episode. I was laughing hard for about five seconds when it happened.

I don't get the widespread shock at Stannis being a cnut. He's always been a cnut.

He burnt a load of priests and his wifes parents.
He kept his daughter locked in a cell.
He chopped his best mates (and the fecker who saved his people from starvation) fingers off.
He repeatedly locked up said best mate for the simple act of not being a cnut.
He cheated on his wife to create a demon assassin to cowardly murder his brother.
He tried to murder his nephew to use his blood to become king.
He tried to burn Mance Rayder to death because he wouldn't kneel before him (ie. he fecking loves burning people).
He insisted on taking his army and family onwards into a snowstorm, despite being told repeatedly it was going to kill them all.

Then episode 9 happens and the internet melts down in "renowned cnut is a cnut" shocker.

Ser Jorah is one persistent stalker but that's a great comeback... oh and where are 'Nobody expects the Stannis Inquisition' jokes already ?

Jorah's gonna give someone in Daenerys' entourage that stone-zombie disease, isn't he?

Why couldn't the feckin harpy just aim dany with their spears. That shireen murder was sad. All hell did break lose again but it was predictable. Good shit.

I've noticed people saying this but I don't think it's contagious. Shireen never gives it to Stannis or Davos, for example. I think only the stone guys can spread it, not the infected. Then again, I could be talking outta my arse here.

Isn't it transmitted when you touch there skin or something? I definitely remember Jorah telling Tyrion not to let them stone men touch him.

And I am sure I remember Shireen being cured when she was a baby or something like like that.

Shireen is/was already cured. Only her scars remained. Jorah's disease is currently only affecting a small portion of his skin on the arm. If someone touches it he could get infected. It hasn't yet spread to the rest of his body, so it's safe to touch it. That's my take on it.

@moonred The Stone Men are normal people who are in the last stages of the disease. It's already spread over their entire body and they've lost their mind.

feck.. After all that dad and daughter moments they do that.. Shit..

Yes but I find more depth in acquiring the iron throne. The whole white walker thing is too straightforward. For some reason it doesn't excite me. It's not like the white walkers will win and take over all of westeros, there would be no story then. It's going to be a struggle but somehow John Snow and Co will hold them off/protect the kingdom losing some of the nights watch/wildlings. I see no other outcome.

Maybe but you never know. Unless I've missed it, there also has to be a reason why the Whitewalkers have all of a sudden awoken and decided to get an army together. To be honest, I think they need to split some time with them and the rest now because some characters/stories I am genuinely just bored of or are as obvious as they come.

Dany is an idiot still. Locking up her dragons. Imagine if all 3 were there, idiot. And nice of her to protect her crew.

Davos gave Shireen a kiss on the forehead before he left for castle black, I think it's fine as long as the infected area isn't touched.

Did anyone else think Drogon looked small? I thought he was huge by now. Looked pretty big when flying earlier in the season and when he visited Dany earlier too

It was a genuine question, comrade. After more than two pages of 'Sansa City', 'Ian Wight' and 'CastleBlackPool FC' you would expect this madness already to take over the thread.

She was a witch anyway...

Anyone else think that when the king said he doesn't give third chances, that he was actually referring to Jamie?

That's a point but I'm also interested how Daenerys managed to ride on a spiked dragon.

:(

Davos better go full rampage when he gets back to camp.

It's so obvious that Olly kid is going to do some shit to Jon.. They just show him too many times, so easy to predict that one.. I just hope Tormund slices him in half when he tries that or maybe the gaint can play a part.. That would be cool..

Hope Ramsay brings his A game while torturing Stannis..

If Tyrion survives this battle,I can see him trying to tame one of the two dragons that are chained up..

Anyway, this season is finishing kind of inevitably. White Walkers causing trouble at one end, Dragons coming alive at the other -- A Song of Ice and Fire indeed.

Yeah but they're just tied up in their own stuff. BTW, we are all forgetting about Bran and Rickon. House stark is still very much alive if you think about it.

Only Ned, Robb and Caitlynn died. The rest are alive but all separate and don't really know how each other are.

As someone else pointed out, making everyone evil is just making the show boring. Whose cause for the throne do we support? I never like Danaerys and now everyone else is evil. I'm sure they're restricted by the book but I wish they deviated from it. Like really, who will we support in the battle of the north? regardless, Stannis is bound to win now because of that huge sacrifice he made.

The starks are still in the picture.

Or how some poxy spears managed to pierce dragon skin/armour.

I'm guessing they're still fairly young and will grow into something like above.

Edit: With skin and stuff.

That Shireen scene was grim. They've been building up to that for a while though as others have said.

The end was entertaining but silly in all sorts of ways. Why did she not have loads more protection? Why did the harpies not just bum rush the lot of them in the arena or throw spears at them? Why are the unsullied so shit? Why did the harpies all dick tuck at the first hint of a dragon then suddenly get the courage to attack it? Why did the stupid thing stay on the floor?... Etc....

I'm more concerned with Jorah potentially spreading the stone AIDS all over the place. There was a blatant close up on him touching Danerys' hand and then another unnatural close up of her touching Missandei (?). Possible misdirection?

So obvious that Olly is gonna be a naughty boy next week. Yet another close up of his scowling face.
