The quality of the leaked episode is abysmal. Why would anyone waste their time.

No it's a lot better than live streams. Good enough for me.
I don't know if there are multiple leaks, but the ones I got are DVD quality.

This leak could be a real shit storm for HBO. I know in general evidence shows that piracy doesn't radically impact revenue, but so many people are going to be tempted to watch these as soon as they become available. They're somewhat lucky it isn't 720p versions that have escaped though as that will deter many of us
I agree with gizmodo, they should just release the entire season Netflix style and let their customers choose.

It's a leak that people didn't want. Only makes you wait long for the next episode, it's going to spoil for the rest of us and in poor quality.

I can't believe HBO didn't actually expect this. They've been sending out "review" copies of the first four episodes right and left, of course someone is going to rip and upload them.
Sending out review copies is absolutely ridiculous anyways. You could easily the episodes digitally if you insist on giving some people (journalists) early access in ways that makes the episodes harder to distribute.

Watching the 4 episodes now would mean waiting a month to see the 5th one. Cant decide whether to watch or not.
feck me there's 720p rip available in 93mb..they're using the newer x265 codec instead of x264!

Same thing happened last season, a few episodes got leaked. It's much better watching it week by week IMO. It's alot easier and enjoyable to follow the story in a weekly basis rather than waiting for 5 weeks for a new one and then possibly having to rewatch the leaked episodes again,

Season 4 didn't leak. It just aired a day earlier or something as a HBOgo incentive. But yeah, the internet would of blew up if genuine leaks happened, like it has the past day.
Doubt it'll do much to harm, except maybe Silicon Valley, as GoT is it's lead in and people who skipped the airing of the first 4 episodes won't know what's going on with Silicon Valley to just watch it.

New episode will air properly at 2am UK time. Torrents/file sharing links will pop up at about 3.05am.

What happens with speculation? I'm not going to make any comments on what's happened in the show, but there could be others who have seen the leaked episodes, and are less honest with it, and speculate about future episodes with info that they're already know about stuff that's going to happen.
Book readers could have done the same though but were quickly spotted. I'd say it'll be grand.
Book readers were entirely obvious based on whether or not they were posting in the book thread though, most of the time.
