This fecking show...

Damn it all to hell. I loved Oberyn :( I feel sick to my stomach, actually. I need to know what happens next.

I liked Oberyn, but I thought it was a bit unfair how he was able to get a second spear from his servant. Disarming your opponent should be a tactic you can use. Having unlimited ammo ruins the contest.

Just saw the episode. I fecking hate George Martin.

Also what was the point of that beetle speech in the jail?

They're overdoing the Tyrion speeches, in my opinion. The build-up to the fight was a bit weak and rushed, would have loved to see Tywin's reaction when he found out who was fighting for Tyrion. They should have used dialogues between Jamie and his sister and/or father to increase the tension, instead of another scene in the cell, which felt pretty meaningless in comparison to the 3 scenes there in the last episode. The fight was fecking awesome though, for a moment I thought he could actually win.

But I expected Oberyn to lose the fight. It was too much Bronn vs the knight in the armour all over again and Tyrion walking away so easily would have been a bit repetitive, they needed a twist there at the end. I fecking hope they don't kill him next week though, episode 9 is usually not really nice to our beloved characters :nervous:.

Loved Arya bursting out into laughter, that was brilliant. Nathalie Emanuel . Theon saying 'Bolton will be just and fair as he was with me' made me feel a bit sick. It hurt the moment he said it and seeing the poor guy flayed made it even worse despite it being obvious. And I really like the new Sansa. Jorah being exiled is pretty great, less cringeworthy dialogue between him and Dany and it could open up a few interesting storylines.

I'm not able to come to terms with what happened. So unnecessary when he already had The Mountain on his back, even if the comment about how even The Mountain was harmless when on his back before the fight should have given it away.

Anyways, I'm embarrassingly invested in this show in a way I never thought possible. Was pretty into Breaking Bad, but at least there you knew the main characters would somehow survive until the end of the last season drew near. The unpredictability of GoT makes it so much more of an emotional roller-coaster.

Saw the fight again, loved it. The way he kept repeating those three lines, spurring him on. Pedro Pascal did an excellent job and would be a loss for the show.

The show has lost the shock factor now. Short of them killing the whole cast at one go, nothing will be surprising any more.

Fight was good but I agree with Balu that build could have been better. You could see Oberyn dying once he started that speech. Tyrion probably won't die next week, let's see what happens.

Only so long you can milk speed outdoing brute power before it gets boring to be fair. Brutal, absolutely brutal death, but whatever, the guy cemented his status the top fighter seen in the show considering the amazement Jaime showed at watching him.

Jaime didn't seem amazed to me. It was more like happiness and relief when it looked like his brother was getting away with it.

What the feck just happened at the end there!? I mean, I could see it coming but I didn't think it would be that brutal!

It's hard to say what'll happen to Tyrion now, but I reckon Jaime will help him escape somehow. I don't he'll be killed off just yet.

I was disappointed by how Mountain's fighting skills were showcased. He seemed like a slumbering giant just using his brute strength and force rather than any kind of skill.

Still was a good fight. Not everything is easy to capture on video I guess.

Looks like it will be like Blackwater with wildlings attack on Castle Black. Same director is in for this one as well. That one is still one of the my fav. GOT episodes ever. So looking forward to this one now even though characters involves here are not at the same level as the ones in that episode.

Nah, I think it's clear awe from Jaime, arrogance and confident added to the clear superior skills, it's exactly his style too. All I get from discussing best fighters in the series is that we should be given a Fighter game with them all, Dayne as the legendary unlock, called "Trial By Combat", sells itself really.

So baelish seems to have taken the reigns at the vale, even the old couple seem to be happy following his advice, but so far I've not seen Baelish as someone who would start a war and lead an army even if he has a really big one. He seems like the guy who stays out of trouble and keeps himself in the safe, so I am really confused about what he's planning.. what was the motive behind killing Lysa. Also, I fear a bit for Sansa now, Baelish is the only one she can trust at the moment, which is a very dangerous thing as his father found out. I don't see her out-witting him or something so I fear when the time comes Baelish would get rid of her. One reason that I can see is Baelish banking on Tyrion being killed, and then marrying Sansa (his wife died as well so I presume he is free to do that) and ending up being the warden of the north. Is this pointing towards a battle between The Vale and Boltons, specially as they spent time showing us that now anyone who thinks of taking up the north has to battle them? Possibly, but tough to say.

Also looks like Arya again came really close to meeting her family member but won't. That scene ended abruptly, even if Lysa is dead I don't see any sense in them taking a U turn after coming this far. Where else is there for them to go?

You might be on to something there. Though I think Rhaegar should be the ultimate unlock!

Seriously. The one great addition this season had and now he is gone.

I'm still significantly bummed out. If Tyrion winds up getting killed because of this it's worse than the Red Wedding too. What makes it worse is that The Hound might be dying slowly from his wound. At least he's weakened and it hasn't been treated right. It's getting to the point where it will just be shite no matter who wins in the end.

Anyone else found Aryas laugh annoying as hell?

I thought it was brilliant, the proper manic laughter of when so much shit happens and you have such bad luck you just go a little mad and laugh at it (before crying).

Also Red Woman > ex-slave girl.

Edit: double also: Most horrifying death in GoT so far?

I just think he let the mask slip and lost control - killing Lysa because he hated her for a) not being Cat and b) being so fecking odious

That's why he was so nervous when they asked Sansa what happened. Also you're smoking crack if you think Baelish plans to 'get rid of her'. He's totally obsessed with her - firstly she's the replacement for Cat who he could never have and secondly, on top of that, she's also sort of like a daughter to him. Only was I could see him offing her is if she turns on him later.

My word. I did not see that coming. Sure, his downfall could have been guessed, but not the manner of it. Gruesome.

If they follow through on Arya not meeting Sansa after doing the same with Snow and cripple, then it would be very lame. Extremely infact.

So did I, but whenever I thought that, I kept remembering the knob who posted in here about Oberyn being a small role earlier this season.

I've forgotten your name but you know who you are!
Yep, wasn't too surprised about the death because of that.

Yeah, reminded me of Walt in Breaking Bad.

what an ending!! fantastic, absolutely brilliant. i was shocked, really

I've watched the end 4 times now, probably the most shocked I've been at a shows ending since....last season's finale. fecking brutal to say the least.

What the feck? I really didn't see Oberyn dying let alone getting his head squished. Fantastic ending. Also usual comment about Baelish's accent. Was no one on the show bothered about it?

It was nothing like that.
Both were laughing about having such shit luck. This was nowhere near as good or intense obviously but it still reminded me of it. feck you anyway man, who are you to judge what stuff reminds me of?

So I watched it two hours before the most difficult exam of the year.

Priorities

So:
  • Nathalie Emmanuel
  • Arya's laughter was a great scene for me. Just the normal hysterical (oxymoron?) reaction of a typical show-viewer to the G. Martin's sick (but quite enjoyable) fantasy
  • Still don't like Sansa much but her change is interesting - and I think that they would struggle to communicate with Arya now, seeing how they changed since their separation
  • The death of Oberyn was brutal - the biggest shock since he Ned's death - mostly because I was waiting for this fight for so long (thanks 'Merica) and subconsciously convinced myself that everything will be ok with the midget

And the people were complaining about the lack of action in series
