Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

So predictable but yet so awesome! Both Oberon the Champion and Littlefinger killing Lysa scenes.

Dinklage was fantastic in his scene, his acting after Oberon said that he would kill the Mountain for him and when he talks about him not being a monster... one of the best TV actors currently

what a horrible recast they did for the mountain. It cheapens the production when they keep recasting characters. This lad can't act and has a thick icelandic accent. Should have recast the first mountain and have the second one dub his lines. Apart from that a good episode. Aiden Gillen got to kiss Sophie Turner the jammy bastard

Oh, so it wasn't my imagination. I thought I just forgot how he looks

Glad she's a goner - boring and annoying character.
Lysa?

Jesus there is no pleasing some people. I thought she was a creepy as hell character who had excellent scenes. Also she has only ever appeared in about 4 episodes

So good  Littlefinger is a wicked guy but I think what was said between Daenerys and Jora earlier relates very much to him.

"There are good and evil on both sides of a war"

I can see him being a necessary evil on Sansa's side. He will remain a very twisted guy but also a very powerful piece.

Can anybody point me in the direction of a torrent so I can report it? The usual site I check doesn't have any for some reason so I'm really really happy because of that.

I knew Littlefinger's obsession with Sansa was to do with wanting a Catelyn replacement. Creepy bastard.

Wonder what happens to that little freak, Robin, now? Teach him how to fly too.

Wasn't a fan of the Brienne/Pod/Hot Pie scenes, mainly because of Hot Pie, but they had advance their story somehow.

The only good thing about Daenerys scenes this week was hearing Emilia Clarke say "Take off your clothes."

Arya and The Hound seem to be growing closer week by week. Wonder if she'll take him off her list?

Oberyn and Tyrion, brilliant scene. I really hope Oberyn doesn't die in the trial by combat. Any other show and you'd expect the "good guy" Oberyn to get revenge for his sister but it's Game Of Thrones so you never know.

I think that it's not in the spirit of the show - they will probably form a bond together and then she would still kill him, given the chance, because family > burned friends or something like that. Martin has a thing for such "tragic" moments

I just love this show. The storyline is just building and building to the point where every little story (apart from Danaerys' right now) has something big coming. I was expecting that ending from the moment they started talking about the moon door, but Littlefinger's move on Sansa was shocking.

Some observations:
  • Oberyn is an incredible character, one of the best they have introduced in fact. I really find myself backing him the most out of all the characters alongside Tyrion
  • The Hound is really warming to Arya I feel, starting not to see her just as an object for a reward
  • Daenarys is getting some action again (good for her). Annoyed she has stopped pursuing King's Landing for the time being
  • Jon Snow warned Sir Alliser, bastard now truly has it coming for him (Alliser as the bastard, not Snow)
  • Melisandre's boobies, always a winner.
  • Don't the episodes feel better without Bran's story in them?
Her and Podrick coming into contact with the Hound and Arya leading to a fight? Could be the end of the Hound I feel

but where would they meet though? the hound is going to the Vale and Brienne isn't, which was clearly shown in the last scene - she asked if Podrick was sure about his knowledge about Vale and the others, he responded "no" and they went down the road, where Vale's road must've been the higher one

Good point. However, it may be a red herring that the path is higher, and could very well lead them to the Vale when we least expected it. I reckon they will eventually find their way

Funny that the only boring storyline at the moment if Daenerys'. Even Bran's is becoming more interesting!

I read that scene differently.

I thought she asked him if he was sure and then despite him saying know, she smiled because she trusted him and decided to go on his instinct.

We then saw the two routes, I thought the higher route was merely the path they had been taking while the path leading off it represented a change of direction which is the path they took.

I thought that too at first, but they specifically filmed it that way - one road is going significantly down and the other significantly up. Just rewatched it - she wasn't smiling, she was a bit disappointed, but it's hard to say with her mimics, really. But Podrick's reaction is much clearer. And again, camera's accent on the roads:

Probably one of the best episodes of the season so far, terrific acting from characters who've been a bit dodgy so far as well.

Hmm I see what you mean but I still stand by what I said. That looks like "The Way" to the left and it looks like they've decided to take "The Detour" to the right.

Another good episode. I can't wait to see Oberyn fight as Tyrion's champion, although I'm not sure how he'll win against that giant guy.

Little Finger is turning into a right creep by the way. I liked the way he killed Sansa's Aunt, even if it was pretty obvious what was going to happen as soon as he entered the room.

Finally, I'm glad there was no Bran in this episode. His storyline sucks (apart from Hodor, obviously) and this episode seemed much better without him. There wasn't much of Sam Tully as well, which was another bonus.

Shame it isn't on next week but the season seems to be building to an interesting climax.

Seems like Melisandre wants to sacrifice Shireen to the Lord of Light, her crazy mother will go along with it.....

But I think that'll be the breaking point for Stannis. Melisandre has him wrapped around her finger and he's a cold, heartless bastard but there's no way he'll burn his daughter alive.

Three, I think.

I can't wait for episode nine. That's when shit has gone down in previous seasons.
Cheers.

I'm gonna be really fecked off if Oberyn dies. Already one of my favourite characters and it would mean Tyrion's death too:( Their scene together was amazing.

A tad predictable, didn't really get why Tyrion didn't think of Oberyn the minute he knew the Mountain would be their champ....

Still a superb episode, finally seems like the acting is coming together. Noticed that this ep was directed by Alex Sakharov, last time he was involved he gave us a great scene between Tywin and Olenna Tyrell in season 3, he produced again last night with Tyrion and Oberyn.

The best part was when Oberyn started telling him how Cercei hated him even when he was a baby, I really felt for Tyrion during that scene.

I liked the interaction between Bronn and Tyrion as well, earlier on in the episode. Bronn is such an honest character which makes him entertaining to watch. I was disappointed when he said he wasn't going to fight for Tyrion, but Oberyn makes an excellent replacement.

He directed the last one too, it's two in the row now for Sakharov. I think he is the best of them all, actually

Must have missed that when I was glancing Wiki! You can tell the last couple of episodes have felt of a higher quality than previous ones in this season. He's top notch!

Melissandre is easily the best looking piece on the show. Terrific cans. Amazing body. Decent actress.

I'm pretty sure the show would be just as popular if it was just Carice van Houten playing with her tits for an hour at a time.

There'd still be the odd nobhead talking about how the right tit storyline wasn't as interesting as the one about left tit.

Just a reminder, all images in this thread must be put in spoiler tags or I'll put you down Stannis style!

Nobody else was put off by the new "Arniesque" Mountain?
Season 1 Mountain was scarier. His anger when he killed his horse was frightening. Season 2 Mountain was boring as feck. The new Mountain is closer to the first one, but his face looks too soft, not angry enough. And his voice sounded weird.

Yeah the whole point. Why not bring back the 1st mountain or at least dub this guy? The mountain went from a deep batman like voice in season 2 to sounding like Dolph Lungdrens icelandic cousin

Hard to care too much about a character that has appeared in a small handful of scenes in 4 seasons (Jousting in season 1, Harrenhal in season 2 and Kings Landing in season 4, I think that's all?) and has had one line that I can remember ("Who am I fighting?").

The guy in season one was a big, scary bastard though.

I know but it just fecking annoys me that they have recast the same character three times. Its stupid

Tyrion has been a special kind of excellent this season, every scene he's been in has been brilliant.
