Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

My 15 year old son loved this episode and he has the attention span of a goldfish if something is dull or a filler.

Yeah what's with Shae? She take that rejection really bad or is there something more going on there? I suspect the latter.

Just watching the end back again, Cersie in particular seemed rather smug about it.

Well considering the ultimatum Pod received (testify against Tyrion or be killed), you could guess that she was seen getting on the boat and was given the same choice...?

It was the whores in the bath house. You were 15 once, right?

Got to go along with the Mountain vs Oberyn speculation.

Teaser-peek referenced below.
The teaser showed The Mountain cleaving a man in two.
When Tyrion requests trial by combat, Oberyn shifts in his seat, like the-star-in-a-reasonably-priced-car.

Golden Globe 2015?

When Tyrion announces Trial by Combat, Margarie Tyrell is the first character shown, Jaime, Shae and Oberyn next. Cersei and Tywin behind these lot

Enjoyed that episode.

I take it the Iron Bank has decided to loan some money to Stanis?

Ramsey's is an evil genius. Can't wait to see what plan he has in store.

The dragon scene was kind of cool but Daenerys is so fecking boring. I couldn't care less for her and her stupid rule, she needs to disappear for the next few episodes.

Loved the scene between Jamie & Tywin and Tyrion's speech at the end was epic.

Daenerys is getting some unfair stick here I feel. I think she does the role ok-ish, just pales in comparison to Peter Dinklage and other awesome actors. She's not boring, her storyline is, but she can't change it and cops up some serious stick that she doesn't deserve. For instance, the hearings in Mereen is an attempt to build the story line on why she chose to stay instead of invading Kings Landing. Tough role.

Not up to you though is it?
No, but just don't see how fake spoilers are relevant on a forum about Manchester United? People get too protective over these shows. Christ. And Eboue needs to take a chill pill in these fecking threads. He keeps accusing people of having book knowledge.

Btw not up to you either

Emilia Clarke can't act. That courtroom scene was painful to watch for that very reason, it required the actor to display a range of emotions and she was simply not up for it. Her character is obviously going to be a big part of the main storyline and I am worried she will ruin it now.

She is awful isn't she? My issue with her is that we've seen little progress over the past 4 seasons, yet she's seen on all adverts as the symbol of the show.

The issues with Dani is that her character is on every advert for Game Of Thrones, she's very much the symbolic character of the show, yet when you watch the show, other characters, Dinklage namely, dominate their roles. Emilia Clarke isn't that good an actress, nor Dani that good a character. She appears to appeal to the tumblr demographic of feminists, and young men who find her attractive/like dragons and little else in between.

That's really not fair on her though. She has the most rightful claim to the throne, having lived a life of a nomad, having to marry a Dothraki king because of her brother's persuasion, coming to realise that she's the chosen one and the mother of dragons, struggling to learn how to rule and how to lead an army etc etc. There's a lot to her character. She's much like the Starks so far, having to face hardships. The Lannisters are in the thick of the action because of the plot, but it's always not going to be like this. Also, she's ok as an actress, she suffers because all the other plots are fast moving while Dany and notably Bran Stark's plot move very slow. It's how the story is written, unfortunately.

Emilia Clark is fine in the part. Her story line is slow but you assume they will all converge eventually. I really don't see the problem.

1. No she doesn't.If anything, Stannis does, only thing is no one likes his character. The Targareans were rightly removed from the throne. Dani had never been in westeros, and has some delusion about her worth to the normal person. Does she really think people will welcome her with open arms? As seen already, the north doesn't give a shit about the throne.

2. She hasn't had hardships to suffer since season 1.

3. Yeah, but Bran isn't branded around like Dani is. Dani is Bran's tier yet she's billed highest on the show behind dinklage and advertised the most.

I think he is spot on TBH. You can tell a mile off when someone knows what happens and pretends otherwise and then speculates what happens correctly based on very little information. I have had this series spoiled correctly in this way a number of times this season already.

Yeah, predictions should be kept in spoiler tags, but still, it's like any show, predicting who will fight for Tyrion for example, only has a few outcomes.

How have you come to that conclusion?

He wants revenge for his sister doesn't he? I'm pretty sure this was stated in an earlier episode and I don't think this implies any book knowledge or at least I hope it doesn't. If it does a thread ban will ensue.

Even in spoiler tags the ones book readers post are often obviously fact and not speculation which is very annoying. They try but fail to hide their knowledge - aarrrggghhhh

Great episode in general and outstanding Tyrion performance towards the end. I find the story with Danaerys borderline pointless now, there is only so much beauty can do, I feel like so much like skipping these as next to nothing happen

Is correct.

Wouldn't surprise me if Tyrion asks Bronn to fight for him but Bronn doesn't fancy his chances against The Mountain. Oberyn then approaches Tyrion and offers to fight, and subsequently wins. Tyrion will need to bugger off out of KL if this is the case, and Oberyn may become a good ally/friend of his.

No book knowledge, only speculation.

Good point you raise there

Wasn't it Bronn who said Shae was safely off Kings Landing? Maybe he has already turned on Tyrion? He always said he was only loyal to money

I'm getting increasingly bored having to read Emilia Clarke can't act every other post. You could almost fill an eniter thread with it. Now there's an idea...

Anyway, I'm starting to seriously dislike her character. I enjoyed the scene with the master's son, exposing her cruelty and how she's no better than the people she condemned to a horrible death. She needs a serious dose of humility.

Fake spoilers? Eboue is such a drama queen.

I haven't seen the fake spoilers but not only did he not know they were fake, it's now ruled out those possibilities for him. Twattish thing to do.

What fake spoilers was he sent?

If he was only having a laugh I will go along with that being a harsh permabanning.

Anyone else think it was weird that Joran Monmouth being announced as a spy was absolutely huge news and got completely glossed over?
