Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I hope those cockshots weren't spoilers.

FWIW, we also tell those idiots to shut it (usually Revan the majority of the time) in the other thread too.

He's right though. As someone said in the tv thread, it may be obvious that a trial by combat will happen but it's not 100% certain. They don't appreciate someone coming in saying they know what will happen, no matter how small or glaring it may be. Surely you understand that?

Urge to what? I've seen this shite for years. You go into the TV show thread which is explicity stated as being the TV SHOW THREAD where absolutely NO BOOK TALK IS ALLOWED EVER and start giving little hints and winky faces and "tee hee I know what's coming up next just wait". If I hadn't read the books and someone did that to me I'd tell them to get f*cked too, and you probably would as well. They're in a completely different mindset to us when it comes to the TV show and you should respect that.

On the subject of cocks I thought we were going to get a peek at Theons stump this week but I guess that would've been too much.

I actually agree about that whole start bit being a bit of a let down. They really built up her mission to get Theon back at the end of last season, then she has this big speech at the start rallying the troops, breaks into the Castle, kills a few guards then legs it when Theon bites her hand and the psycho threatens to let the dogs out. She should've dragged his arse out of there.

Emilia Clarke is such a crap actress. I can only assume the creators were more concerned about the fact that she'd be naked half of the pilot than actually having to do some proper acting at a point.

Ah well, he wasn't hinting at much but hinting nonetheless...why say things like 'knowing what happens next makes me excited and all blah blah' , had escaped the thread for an hour and now the bloke got banned. Back to topic, can't believe there will be a two week gap after the next episode! aarggh

She's gorgeous and I've seen her boobs. Good enough for me.

Why are people suggesting Brienne btw? Afaik she has no relationship with Tyrion.

I suggested Brienne because she'd fight for Tyrion is Jaime asked her to, and because she'd beat just about anyone in King's Landing.

Jaime vs Loras would be interesting, but a left-handed Jaime would prove no match for Loras.

Yeah, what was that all about, the fierce sister legging it from some dogs. Just throw the axe in his face.

So, so good.

Peter Dinkage is an absolutely legend.

Best since the Red Wedding for me.

The rest of the episode was shite, but worth it for Tyrions speech.

Potentially massive spoiler here, so look away if you don't want to hear this theory

It was the guy on the lawnmower

He sent fake spoilers to Eboue but regardless still a dick move. Permabanned him.

Good, I was about to ask one of you chaps to thread ban him.

That was a great episode, I was bouncing at the end. Shae that fecking bitch! What a twat! I hope she dies the bitch! /venting over

Duel Speculation:
Surely it's all setup for the Mountain v Prince Obertan (dunno how to spell it, so I'll use lovely Obertans name instead) duel? No doubt Tywin will choose The Mountain, he wouldn't risk Jamie and would no doubt want to take Tyrion out at this stage considering his reaction to the whole situation. Therefore the genius move would be for Tyrion to choose Prince Obertan as he's got a genuine grudge against The Mountain so will be pumped to take the fecker down. Not only that, but Tyrion will also get a new ally in Prince Obertan, he's meant to be a badass fighter anyway by reputation.

feck me what an episode though!

Yeah what's with Shae? She take that rejection really bad or is there something more going on there? I suspect the latter.

Just watching the end back again, Cersie in particular seemed rather smug about it.

I think there has to be something more to it. Although getting rejected by a dwarf would be embarassing. Especially when he married an underage ginge instead of you.

Perhaps Cersie bought her off? I dunno, I don't think she's turn like that. She didn't even seem sad saying it. She was spiteful. Which makes me think she is either batshit crazy or she's been paid off yet further by Cersie. I doubt she was a plant, that'd require way too much pre planning. So I think she's just a spiteful bitch.

Either way Cassius, she's been added to my deathwish list.

Reckon cersai guaranteed his life would be spared to her if she said he was guilty.

Also I think Jamie will fight for Tyrion.

We will see a rocky type montage with Jamie and tyrions pal, as he gets better with his left hand and then go on to kill that guy with the beard who was in tonight's episode.

Wow what a great episode. Tyrion is hilarious, I really can't wait for the next one. I actually like Dany. As others have said we are seeing her develop as a character and the obstacles she is facing. We have to break away from Kings landing and the north now and again! Anyway a blonde with pet Dragons what's boring about that? :wenger:

Tyrion' speech was epic but it wasn't the only good thing about the episode, I can't wait for more.

Going back through the thread I agree with the people who felt the botched attempt to rescue Theon all a bit pointless & far fetched. Travel across the seas to be face to face with the person who has driven her brother insane through torture and she decides to leave Theon in the dog pen? Eh? Surely she would have killed Ramsay to make the journey worthwhile? Yes Theon's gone mad but what kind of state did she expect to find him in?

That scene was beautiful: brought back memories of the Fellowship of the Ring when they went past those two monoliths of past kings.

Peoples' main speculation on here about the trial by combat is such a good shout, that I never thought of it before now. If that were to come to fruition then I am truly excited.

Can anyone who decides to criticise that episode be thread banned please?

I thought the whole thing was absolutely brilliant.

The iron bank changing aligence.

Reek.

And finally Tyrion's trial. He's going to ask Jamie to fight for him isn't he  even left handed, that's what he was training with Bronn for :D

I agree. Bloody great episode.

Some people should just play video games or watch Transformers.

Some folks, once they see the good stuff (Blackwater, Red wedding), expect every episode to live up to or near the expectations of this standard, which just cannot happen. I was absolutely shocked to see a couple of people call this episode and the last "fillers", when they had extremely interesting reveals and scenes throughout the episodes. Ridiculously high standards from ridiculous people who should go watch the Big Bang theory if they want consistent standards.
