Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

No midget today :(

Love the Littlefinger's scheme, didn't expect.

Oh, and what's up with Lord Varys? He's nowhere to be seen all season - or am I just forgetting something and he was brutally killed in the GoT manner?

Did anybody else found the Cersei-Margaery scene a bit awkward?

Yep, I did. And wasn't Cersei threatening her not to call her "sister" ever again at some point?

Varys is the bald guy, right? He was seen at the wedding if so.

Yes, the bold one. I thought that he was on the wedding, but still, he was one of the major characters in the first seasons, always plotting, but now he isn't and I miss him.

Great episode, Littlefingers scenes with Lisa Arryn were cringeworthy brilliant I thought, the last 20 mins and especially the scenes at Craster's Keep were fantastic, enjoy it tonight folks.

Just on the point of Gillen's accent, I read a theory somewhere (may have been on the asoiaf board) that the accent is intentional, and it's to show how he fakes an accent to further his elusive, obscure, mystic presence. It's like he puts on a false accent that attempts to sound high-born but because he butchers it he clearly isn't, which works in his favour as it allows people to underestimate him.
However, this could just be some fans who are in love with the man and make these far fetched theories to compensate for his poor accent. But he certainly nailed an American accent as Carcetti in The Wire.

There's no contest that the guy must live to entertain every time he speaks and bitch slapping everyone around.

Arguably king of this season so far.

Snow killing Karl was pretty nasty. One of the better kills, and so was Hodor decimating locke with his giant hands(though it was all bran). Arya as usual ballsy. One secret revealed, solid GOT episode overall.

Littlefinger was behind Jon Arryns death? Did not see that coming at all. Dudes a bigger cnut than joffrey in my books now.

Spoilered it, incase no one had seen it yet.

I didn't see that coming at all. Tommy Carcetti gets up to all sorts.

Cant believe little finger had a hand in Jon Aryn's death also..

That scene when lysa goes on to tell all the stuff she did for him,his face changes expression.. I thought he would stab her,but he ended it with a kiss.. Lysa seems to a right lunatic..

Remembering the speech he gave Sansa about Dantos, I think Lysa might be killed by little finger at some point.. She knows too many secrets..

We can't really know for sure if Littlefinger and Lysa alone are culpable for Jon Arryn's death. Previously, Littlefinger has been known to be scheming with the Starks, but in the end it turned out that he was in bed with the Lannisters all the way

These episodes go by too fast. I can't believe we are going to be on episode 6 next week.

Enjoyed the episode though.

After some comedy gold with the football, time to sit back and enjoy this week's GoT....

Does anyone in the UK watch this Thronecast afterwards on Sky Atlantic?

It is actually quite interesting. Jonathan Woss is on it tonight.

They're too over-enthusiastic on it for me. Make it sound little a cheesy kids show.

I watched it a few times in the first 2 seasons but on a couple of occasions they mentioned the books (no spoilers but just comparisons) and the guy who presents it was very annoying.

I don't see it with Sansa. Lysa is more attractive to me but that's probably due to her being a dirty one.

Wasn't Lysa the one still brestfeeding her son? Maybe Sansa will take over the other tit.

The death of John Arryn was the catalyst for everything that happened in the first season and from then on.

Ned wouldn't have left winterfell to replace him as the hand of the king, it also made the starks suspect the lannisters in season 1.

I think Pod is fast becoming my favourite character.

I hope the show ends with Hodor as hand of the king - Pod.

EDIT:

Littlefinger is clearly one of the most dangerous characters in the show and becoming one of the major players in Westeros. I remember one of his infamous quotes in season three I think it was, that chaos isn't a pit, it's a ladder. Well Littlefinger set in motion a chain of events including the deaths of most of the Starks, which originated from Jon Arryn's assassination and from this chaos, Littlefinger has thrived.

I find him as one of, if not, the most interesting characters in the show currently. He wasn't a character who inherited lands, titles and power because of his heritage like most on the show and has become the major player he now is, due to cunning and scheming. I'm really intrigued to see just how far he can go. Strangely, I'm sort of rooting him on, as the last thing I want to see is a generic scenario where the self-righteous hero or heroin - Dany in this case - conquers all in their path.

Me too. Brienne/Pod and the Hound/Arya are two great storylines as they both connect with each other well in their own little way, and it looks quite promising for future seasons/episodes.
