Nani , Giggs are the only fit wide players we have they should have been rested for this game with the next 2 weeks of away games so Ober and Bebe are the only options. can't get Valencia and Park back quick enough.

~I think it is why reserve football is dying a death. It really isnt good preparation for young players.
There doesn't seem to be anywhere for squad or fringe-of-squad players to play - back to the old B team in League Two idea.

I'd love that in a way, not sure how the teams in the leagues would feel, might help thier gates.

They should open up the loan rules (allowing clubs unlimited/far more loans per season would be a good start) and also allow proper feeder club arrangements to be set up so that if, for example, Fergie wants to send five of his young players out at once to the same club then he can. Given the way smaller clubs are struggling financially it would take away some of the burden in terms of paying wages and would also be a good shop window for the hundreds of young players a season that aren't quite good enough for the clubs they're with.

He's terrible isn't he. It's taken a while but it's pretty bloody obvious now. You can talk about confidence and decision making but essentially he's just a bad footballer.
Well united have monitored him since the age of 16, so if he was indeed a "terrible" player, I'm sure we'd have noticed during that period before we signed him. He also won player of the tournament for France at the U-21 levels didn't he last year? Can't be all that bad.
In 2009, we were saying how raw he was.

2011, we're still saying how raw he is.

In 2013, we'll be saying give him a few more years.

He's played 27 matches (inc sub appearances), for him to really improve, he needs regular playing time. A loan spell will do him the world of good, just look at Welbeck's progress this year.

I love how people can not wait to write young players off at our club. Let the guy get at least 50 matches under his belt in this country first, before you all label him bellion mrk II.

The most disappointing thing for me is that I know he's better than that.

Good grief, he just couldn't get to grips with the ball out there. In pre-season he was looking very sharp right up until he got his injury. But so far this season it's clear his confidence and belief in his own ability is lacking. Fergie said something about seeing how he would develop over a few years and i'm sure he'll get more time. But if he just can't perform for our first team, we will bring through someone else who will. Talent alone is not enough.

Playing him might as well amount to playing with 10 men, it's no wonder we struggled today as we may as well of played with 9 men with both him and Bebe out there

People will slate me for that but come on even Bellion & Djemba Djemba had their positive moments for United but that didn't stop either proving that they're not top level footballers once they were kicked out of the club

He has to be registered next season so I imagine he'll either be sold or loaned out, the only difficulty will be finding a club in the Prem willing to take him on loan and play him regularly.

I reckon he could be quite handy playing week in week out for a Championship side, kinda like the impact Taarabt has had at QPR

He's never a Premiership footballer though

No way we scouted this lad for so long and he has nothing. If he is sold off, even if it's initially to a shite team, he will come good in the end.

didn't play well but then not many did. a match like this one isn't a good indicator. don't think anyone was inspired/motivated...except maybe lindegaard.

Carrick could use the excuse of the wingers/ no real chemistry with gibson (at a big stretch) but Wayne was just shocking.
Carrick has no real excuse too. Even Gibson showed up first half when the wingers were involved. Carrick never did at any point in the game. That's criminal for a first choice midfielder.

I fully agree with you. Very disappointing performance from him. Probably needed a French chaperon (Evra) to help him on the left side. Noticed that whenever Evra is playing together with him, he is more convincing.

He's an enigma. He's got obviously good feet at times and can glide past people and yet will miscontrol the easiest of passes. He's quite big, 6ft and decently built and yet still gets brushed off the ball easily. He's got a lot of good tools in his locker but seems to be lacking confidence. Whereas I look at Bebe and don't really see much potential, I see some in Obertan yet they both are ineffectual (to be fair to Obertan he has had some good cameos).

He needs game time next season, and then we can judge him. He's still only 21. If he does well on loan, we'll get a decent fee or he can compete for the first team. If he does badly then at least we can cut our losses for sure.

Better deliver soon, my memory of his good debut is starting to fade.

We saw that he has power on that shot, but again, he's been played as a winger but when was the last time you had seen a good cross from him ?

I'm a bit worried.

yesterday. He played a great ball across the six yard line but I don't think our wingers got into the best position because our midfield had no control of the game so we saw him and bebe dropping deep trying to spin off the fullback (more so obertan) but half the time the ball wasn't played and sometimes we lacked numbers in the box and those that were tended to be a bit static

What a dickhead. Sorry Gabriel, are we keeping you from doing more important things? At least pretend to show a bit of sodding interest

I'm getting fecked off with this bloke I'll be honest

Seen that on MOTD last night, and it pissed me off. My first thought was get him out, and Bebe also. I still think the same this morning. Not just because of this incident, but a build up of shite performances and whatnot. This just tops it off.

At least act like you're showing some interest you idiots.

why ignore bebe though and single out 'tan?

With Bebe, there's a little room for benefit of the doubt - he could have spent most of the match keenly onserving and asking Giggs his thoughts for all we know, and just happened to get a text at that point.

But Obertan, sitting next to the greatest legend of the game playing today, decided to cut himself off from what was going on around him, and listen to his (doubtless shit) music, in a world of his own.

Nothing wrong with using your mobile during matches, but listening to your iPod just shows that you have no interest whatsoever. It suggests that you're trying to pass the time.

He was on his phone/ipod for 5 seconds during a break in play and then continued watching the match. Unbelievable overreaction.

Well there was another longer video of the incident where they show them watching the match again after a few seconds so yes I think it's an overreaction.

If you found yourself sat next to Ryan Giggs at the match, would you listen to you ipod?

And are you in a position in your career where the knowledge and experience of Ryan Giggs could be crucial in your development?

It's ridiculous, a player in his position should be bugging the hell out of Giggs with his constant questions - hell, sir Bobby should be getting bothered too!
