Good job, half a quote and a total leap to your own conclusion

Well, you said there was a "Wow" moment for you. All you mentioned in your defence of him was that and a subs appearance at Villa. What actually was the moment where it struck you this player had the potential to be a world beater? I'm only trying to get a handle on where you are coming from here.

His all round game and pure raw ability in those games.

He's not amongst the Premier League 25 man squad! That probably explains the transfer request.

Premier League 25-man Squads.

MANCHESTER UNITED 1st February 2011

Keepers: Edwin van der Sar, Tomasz Kuszczak.

Defenders: Gary Neville (H), Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand (H), Wes Brown (H), Nemanja Vidic, John O'Shea(H), Jonny Evans (H), Ritchie De Laet (H).

Midfielders: Owen Hargreaves, Anderson, Ji-Sung Park, Michael Carrick (H), Nani, Darren Fletcher (H), Antonio Valencia, Gabriel Obertan, Darron Gibson (H), Paul Scholes (H), Ryan Giggs (H). Strikers: Michael Owen (H), Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney (H), Javier Hernandez.
Is this info incorrect then?

Im not convinced personally but Im sure he'll get the chance to prove himself properly before any decisions are made. A loan move is probable next season I think. My gut instinct is no. Hopefully Im wrong.

I don't think there's any chance of him being loaned actually, he's at the age where he makes it at United or leaves.

I think he'll make it.

Obertan is a strange one.

When he gets the ball in positions where he can take players on he looks pretty decent.

It's his approach play, tracking back and getting other players involved where he looks absolutely clueless.

He needs to play more. This is the dilemma when the run in comes. Do you trust the young players or do you go with our vets? All games are important from now on.

There was a bit in the reserves game against Oldham where I think it was Morrison dribbled into the box and tried to pop it into the middle, it broke near Obertan and he just kind of flicked his leg at it and watched it get away from him. It was so frustrating, I want him fired up.

He seems like he has a lot of talent but seems to completely lack a football brain.

1 minute he looks quite literally amazing and the next he's dreadful.

I'd be very surprised if he made it at United.

Obertan doesn't seem to have confidence in his own ability. His talents are there for everyone to see, but he just doesn't show it on a consistant basis.

It took Berbatov a while to really settle and he came from another Premiership club and was playing regularly. Where as Obertan came from French footballer, an injury stop him settling in straight away and he hasn't had a realy run of games yet.

I think he may need a loan move to another Premiership side to get him playing week in week out and give a chance to see how he performs with a decent run. A bit like Welbeck seemed to revel in playing regular until his injury.

Each time i see him play, the ball seems to be controlling and dictating him instead of the other way if that makes sense.

Gutless performance.

Where the feck did he go for a half hour.

Disgrace.

He's a headcase, like Ben Foster. He's got talent but can't put it into action.

Very careless with the ball and lacking in confidence most of time, I think he could make a hell of a 100 meter sprinter though.

People keep saying that but i just dont see it, granted he scored a cracker this season but everything else about him just isnt there

He's fecking worse than Bebe.

Has anyone figured out which foot he kicks with yet?

Has he?

It's becoming more and more obvious he won't make it an United.
