who hands in a transfer request on Jan 30th?
Hes even shit at transfer requests.
Hes even shit at transfer requests.
Nani wasnt good enough 13 months back
I'll have faith in his ability till our coaching staff does
is this a joke, the transfer window is already closed, he can't move now even if he wants....

Wow, harsh
May or may not be true, but it rings true in terms of Laurent Blanc's comments about Obertan's psychological issues holding him back when we initially signed him.
Hope it's not true because he has bags of talent.
Agreed, I like Obertan and find him an exciting prospect. From the sound of this he needs a reality check and a good kick up the arse from SAF and the coaching staff.
Maybe a loan spell will help with his confidence.
It's a shame we went out of the Carling Cup so early this year, as are fringe players frive on these chances. At the same rate though, that 4-0 smashing against the hammers apparently had a huge dent on his confidence.
I have faith, and I'm sure SAF does too.

Very unlikely this is true. The Mail have a thing for painting United in a poor light, most recently they were the ones who ran the "Fergie decides Bebe not good enough to make the Reserves" story a few months back. Once again, they painted it as insider information when in fact it was blatantly false, as Sir Alex made clear a few days later when he said Bebe was still getting his fitness levels up and was never scheduled to compete so soon.
That's if you believe the rumours. To my mind SAf has shown nothing but faith in a player that had a history of back problems and was given a chance at Utd.
As for the ammers defeat I'm sure it dented the confidence of more than just Obertan! However Evans has looked better, Hernandez hasn't been affected either so Obetan can gain confidence from better second half against Soton
I actually think he may have what it takes to be a very good player.
Seems to me that his mentality and confidence is the biggest problem. He's also far better on the right than on the left and with Valencia and Nani ahead of him his chances will be limited unless he goes upfront (something I dont think would be a good idea until his confidence improves).
I hope he sticks it out here.
He has it all in his locker and can play an position up the field. SAF can mend his confidence issues.
Remember his game against Wolfsburg away?
Remember his game against Villa away?
How can you not see this lads incredible talent?
Does he though? He hasn't even looked particularly good for the reserves after an encouraging start. He rarely has any conviction in his play and his ball striking and crossing is very poor for an attacking player.
Not to mention Obertan's strange comments about how he felt as though he had been forgotten about, after spending a couple of weeks out injured.
He doesn't come across as the most confident of blokes. He's a definite talent but might never have the mentality for United.

It's each to his own on these kind of things, and whilst you obviously see more reserves games than I, I still reserve my judgement on him.
Incredible talent?! Jesus..
I didn't think he was anything special v Villa, had some good moments in a cameo v Wolsfburg. Doesn't add up to too much in 20 odd appearances.
