Patience is the most important thing when it comes to young players.Only time will tell us if they'll 'make' it or not and regarding Obertan I have no doubt.Just need to wait
This.

I just don't the get the hype here.He is a talented player but people are talking as if he is Messi or Ronaldo when actually he hasn't done anything special so far.

Again I am not saying he is not good,I am just saying the hype is completely unnecessary.

I still believe Nani isway more talented, but will he ever be able to use his talent is a big dilema.
Yeah right ....

Two assists showed different parts of his game.

Fancy shmancy dribbling stuff for the first one followed by making the correct decision in playing an intelligent, early pass for the second. It's the latter quality which makes me think he's a real find.

Do you think he's good enough to be our first choice left winger?

His decision making is absolutely top class.

I'm glad he got his first assist (and second). Super piece of play to create Owen's 2nd goal. Still waiting for Obertan to score himself. Anyway, hope he gets some starts over the next couple of months and see if he can make a case for himself for starting matches when Giggs is being rested.

If only he'd track back occasionally. He ambled back every time moves broke down, despite only being on for twenty minutes.

That said, he's looking like a fantastic prospect, and he'll (hopefully) learn these things the longer he stays here.

His cameo was absolutely stunning. That first assist was fecking superb. Take a bow son, take a bow.

Probably not just yet. Needs to work on his defensive game a bit. Maybe at home thought, against weaker teams?

Great option to have off the bench meanwhile.

What I meant was, once Giggs hangs up his boots (in around 2 seasons), will Obertan be his successor or do you think we'll be on the look out for another winger?

I definitely think Obertan has the potential to be the Left Wing successor. Just look at his play - skill, pace, acceleration, ability to beat a man, everything you need in a good winger.

Best thing about him though, as already alluded to above by some people, is his intelligence. He knows when to play the pass and to do the trick - that's a great thing to have at his young age.

Bags of potential!

Fantastic play, took 3 defenders out of the game, and great awareness in the pass for Owen's third, not a bad 15 minutes or whatever it was.

3 million :)

I'd rather France didn't select him to be honest. Not for this world cup anyway. It's better he keeps his head down and works hard at United.

Obertan receives ball " go on son take him on... yes... yes.... YES!!!!!!"
