Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal

Christ, you dont want an injury like that, this early in your career. Once you get a broken foot in this game its a bitch.

Metatarsal's are recurring injuries. It is not running he will have difficulty with, in terms of playing and healing, its kicking a ball.

We really don't love him. Which is possibly the only thing United fans have in common with your manager.

I know you don't. We don't know whether Pep loves him or not, and it looks like we aren't going to find out for a couple of months or so now either.

Aguero and Pep clearly aren't working well together. City's recent upturn in form/results coincided with this bloke getting into the team. That's not a coincidence.

He was in good form, but I seriously doubt it was all down to him. It was just 3 games against mostly shit teams, they would probably beat them without him anyway, they won without him yesterday too.

Aguero has 15 goals in total this season despite not being regular starter. I don't think him coming back in the team is a massive handicap.

I'm pretty devastated by this injury if I'm honest. It's no surprise our form has looked better since the lad has arrived. He's scored some goals sure but he's been a breath of fresh air around the club. His attitude is infectious and losing him this way is going to be a blow for us unfortunately.

Don't take this as an attack, but I can't help feel he's wasted the peak of his career at City when he could have accomplished more at other clubs. 2 league titles and 2 league cups in 6 years isn't that impressive for someone as talented as Aguero.

albeit current form aside, playing Aguero over Jesus is not a bad thing. Anyone suggesting it is, is a fecking pleb Aguero is better ffs

I still believe he is getting massively overhyped. The reaction to this is as if it ends City's season. Good grief, talk about flapping

Aguero is the superior player, but sometimes players can be more suited to certain tactics. Guardiola came out and confirmed that he sees Aguero as back up for Jesus, and I think that has a lot to do with the differing styles of the two players. Aguero is more a focal point (which Messi aside, Guardiola doesn't like) to finish moves, he's narrowed his game somewhat in recent years and is an incredible goal scorer. Jesus however offers a lot more in the defensive and pressing side of the game, is more likely to link up with teammates rather than finishing moves (which of course he's shown he can also do).

tl;dr, at this moment in time, Guardiola sees Jesus as more suited to his tactics.

It's a blow for him but City have the squad to cope with Aguero and Iheanacho who last year Bluemoon called the best young striker in the world.

Should be back in a month or so, broken metatarsals heal very quickly most of the times, the best type of injury you could have really(not that any injury is good news).

Rooney was never the same after his metatarsal's and Beckham likewise.

Shame for him, despite playing for city I find him intensely likeable.

Rooney did it 3 times though didn't he? He was fine after the first two (Euro 2004, Chelsea 06). It's the Bayern one that killed him

For such a bad season hes supposedly having Ageuro is sitting on 11 goals in the league, on course for another 20 goal campaign. Losing Jesus is hardly a nail in the coffin(cross) to their season.

I wouldn't be too worried about him. I predict he will be a monument of inconsistency. And when that happens, remember you heard it here first

I thought Bayern was ankle?

First one yes, he did come back the same player (but it made him susceptible to it again - unless the other one is on the other foot). 2006 one definitely changed him as a player.. he became less magical after that one and more industrious/efficient. He wasn't as risky in his play after that one.

Losing Gundagon and Jesus is bad luck.

But they could have had Jesus signed from the beginning of the season & always knew about Gundagon's injury problems.

Metatarsals are an unknown quantity. Recovery time is variable from player to player. Some recover in six weeks, for other it is months. Scott Parker anyone?

How long is he out for roughly? Not a good injury to have early on in his career but i'm sure he'll come back from this. He's got the time on his side. Shame though

No-one is back in a month, us England fans are fully aware of this.

Genuinely thought he had the look of a bloke who couldn't be assed last night and not in any pain, feel bad for him now. Aguero aint a bad replacement for City though is he

 No decks given.

I always find it weird the way people seem to be sad about players at rival clubs being out for 2 or 3 months. It's not very nice to hope that someone gets hurt because that's wishing physical pain on another human being. Once the damage is done, though, the longer they're out the better IMO (providing it's not a career ending/limiting injury). All you're hoping for at that point is mental anguish. Which is basically the same thing we hope for (to a much larger number of players) every time we hope City feck up their league or cup campaigns.

I didn't really notice much of a difference after 2006 if I'm being honest. Maybe the only difference I noticed was he stopped lacing the ball, and started trying to side foot/place it from distance?

Started to run with the ball less and shoot from distance less.. his agility wasn't quite the same either.

How long has Gundogan been injured for? Completely forgot he played for them.

Jesus will be back at Easter.

His eyebrows makes him look like a figure out of one of those new Lego movies.

Doctor: Broken metatarsal?
Jesus: No. Just a twisted ankle.
Doctor: What?
Jesus: Eh, twisted ankle for me. They said I hadn't done anything bad and I could go back to Manchester now.
Doctor: Oh, oh that's jolly good well. Off you go then.
Jesus: No, I'm only pulling your leg, it's broken metatarsal really!
Out of the door, line on the left, one crutch each.

I thought Jesus' 40 days off didn't start until after we've all eaten pancakes in celebration?

Good for our top 4 chances but I was enjoying watching him.

I'm not too worried. He'll probably lock himself up in his house and come out in 3 days like nothing happened...

That's just myth. The Arabs will simply sell him as a profit. Thank you. End thread.

Hopefully this will kill any momentum City were building and they start dropping points again.

To be honest buying him in the first place was a massive risk, like when we bought Hargreaves you just hoped he could stay fit for a length of time.
