Not off. The correct sentence is the media has no idea what is happening. Their typical approach when they dont hear or see anything, is to claim that the deal is "off".
We have to wait till the end of transfer window to see what happens. Its like a waiting game between FDJ and Barcelona.
He didn't say it's off, though. He said it's unlikely nowComing from Simon Stone though... Come on. He's practically the clubs mouthpiece.

I look at Tielemans and I see Morgan Schneiderlin. There's an argument to be had that Tielemans for 25-30m is better value than De Jong, especially considering the wages. But then De Jong is twice the player, so there's that
He’s in the mould of Scholes in the same way that Federico Macheda was in the mould of Ruud van Nistelrooy.Neves is completely different, and actually much better in his own way (one touch passing, long passing, playmaking from deep, goalscoring, creating). He's more in the mould of Scholes.
Horses for courses.
Players actually do that quite often — end up at a side that play contrary to their best position/playstyle.So why doesn't he see sense and go somewhere that can give him the ideal system then

They are completely different players. Tielemans is great on the ball, technically very proficient at passing and shooting. Schneiderlin was a pure defensive destroyer and a poor one at that. More than anything he lacked technical ability so he’s completely different. Personally I think there would be a lot of merit is selling McTominay and replacing him with Tielemans who has elite talent but can be pretty lazy (think Pogba lite).I look at Tielemans and I see Morgan Schneiderlin.
I actually was more impressed by Schneiderlin at Southampton than I have been Tielemans, to be honest.
I'm in the same boatNot sure if others would feel the same but I'd be happy for the club to drop all interest in Antony this summer in favour of a cheap option (eg Pulisic on loan), if it meant that the €100m could be used to get De Jong done (plus maybe a RB and/or GK).
That's the muppet's spirit!Frenkie De Jong will be a Man Utd player before the window closes. Mark my words. Quote me on it.

Its a wierd one, if he lights up the WC in november we might have missed our boat. As his askng price could be even higher. However i think personally for a forward he lacks the pace/extra gears that the very elite players like salah, henry have. Not sure if others would feel the same but I'd be happy for the club to drop all interest in Antony this summer in favour of a cheap option (eg Pulisic on loan), if it meant that the €100m could be used to get De Jong done (plus maybe a RB and/or GK).
Nah he was always overrated and his career at Utd and beyond proves that beyond doubt. One of the most average players Utd have ever signed and that takes some doing in this era. Even at his best he was first and foremost a defensive mid, which Is completely different from Tielemans.Schneiderlin wasn't a pure destroyer. Guy was spraying cross field balls and making metronomic passes at Southampton.
His failure at United has changed people's perception of him, sadly.
Rather than leaving him to rot on the bench/reserves
end? it won't end if we don't sign him. first there will be a story of how we had a late bid rejected/fax machine broke down, followed by an autumn full of how we will go for him again in January...I can’t wait for the next 10 days to go quickly, so this incredibly tedious saga can come to an end.
So 2000 pages is still not out of the picture?end? it won't end if we don't sign him. first there will be a story of how we had a late bid rejected/fax machine broke down, followed by an autumn full of how we will go for him again in January...

Busquets and Bernardo Silva are very different players with different roles and attributes. It would not be a like for like replacement at all.I really doubt Xavi will do this though. I think his heart is set on someone like Bilva with a like-for-like replacement for Busquets dropped in next season.
City didn't seem very interested in taking him either and maybe he really is such a niche player than neither Pep nor Xavi think they can get the best out of him in their 4-3-3s.
Barca have Pedri / Gavi readymade to take on those roles in 2-3 years, they just need a DM. If Barca switch to a 4-2-3-1, they'd have to play a proper #10 (no idea how Pedri will do in this role), Gavi will be left out and they'd have to start Kessie / FdJ.
I thought it had been all but confirmed that this one is off?![]()
for comparison
carrick managed 4 CL goals in his 72 appearances and
busquests managed 5 CL goals in his 125 appearances
He was constantly caught in possession when dropping deep.anyone see the Barca- Sociedad game? FdJ horribly caught in possession for Sociedad's equaliser - very reminiscent of McFred!
Also, fantastic first goal from Lewandowski
We need to find a way to harness whatever is driving this thread, because we would be able to instantly render electric vehicles redundant.

Yep, amazing talent. Hopefully his long term injury lay off last season hasn't impacted him.Off topic, but Christ on a bike, Ansu Fati is class!
