Ignore my previous reply, i misunderstood what you were saying. As regards any court case that may actually suit Barca more as it would at the very least delay any monies owed and conceivably erase them if they won.If he has waived it off then it makes sense that he is holding on and not ready to go unless he is paid. He has a valid contract and Barca cant force him out.
Plus Barca can be accused in court of negotiating in bad faith. Hence Laporta always publicly says that FDJ isnt for sale and is an important player. FDJ and his team is also feeding the story that he wants to stay , because they wont have any case if they announce anything different.
Most likely the deferred payment has to be paid by Barca for this deal to go ahead. This hold up will continue till then. I dont think FDJ wants to stay there anymore after how Barca board has leaked information about his contract and then fed the story of how he is refusing to leave and rejecting salary reduction request. But his team wont acknowledge that publicly
Yeah, misunderstood. Im slightly feverish right now. Laid up with covid.I was talking about this part. Promising him salary increase in future to compensate for salary reductions and then asking to reduce the salary and forcing him to leave can put Barca in trouble if it goes to court. Thats why their public statements are always like how they dont have to sell and he is an important player. FDJ cant say anything different also as it would seem he has agreed a transfer so he isn’t entitled to pay rise either.
You are right about the deal getting stuck and unless barca pays him the salary that he is entitled to, this will not progress. If ETH is desperate for him then i can see us waiting for this to resolve till the end of the window
I do.It's McFred i'm worried about.Trust the manager

Thats a weird take. Barca are clearly the worst in this.Amazing how there are really three parties to this and none of them have done themselves any favors here. United looking the worst but Barca looking like absolute fools as well, and De Jong comes out looking quite desperate too. Utter shambles.
Fact.Is the defered wages a known fact, or was it just English media speculation?
I disagree. Or you would rather have the club not pursue the player?
Barca clearly have no idea what they are doing though. We knew we were going for a player that was desperate to stay there and still spent most of the transfer window chasing him, and will likely spend the remainder of it trying to get him.Thats a weird take. Barca are clearly the worst in this.
Well, he clearly doesn’t want to leave Barca and that has been the message all along. I don’t think it’s nearly as much about the €17m owed as they could sort that out after he left anyway, it’s not like they could force him into writing off that debt. What is so terrible about Uniteds situation? They agreed a fee like any other club would, and I am sure EtH spoke to FdJ about coming here. The main problem and power game is between player and Barca.
The scenario seems to be that Barca are saying if you accept the transfer away you must accept a lower immediate payment. He's quite obviously refusing that.Well, he clearly doesn’t want to leave Barca and that has been the message all along. It looks like there is only one way this transfer will happen: they either pay him the deferred wages, or he stays put (his stance, I don't want to leave, is mainly for legal reasons, I assume that Barca need to pay if they "terminate" the contract, but not if Frankie does so by expressing his wish to leave). Hence FdJ remains silent (which I find weak but understandable) and Laporta says we don't need to sell.Barca clearly have no idea what they are doing though. We knew we were going for a player that was desperate to stay there and still spent most of the transfer window chasing him, and will likely spend the remainder of it trying to get him.
They will have no choice but to, and soon. We've known this for a while, but it makes the most sense. I imagine there will come a point where Barca blink and pay up
Take care! Get well soon !Yeah, misunderstood. Im slightly feverish right now. Laid up with covid.
I don't think so, as there were many credible repots that he's open to move. However, if he wants to get his 17m, he needs to be the one who was pushed out it appears, hence his reluctance to say I want to leave. It's now a legal battle it seemsWell, he clearly doesn’t want to leave Barca and that has been the message all along. It depends imo. Either they are forced to pay him as they need him off the books, or they can let him sit on the bench, treat him like crap (like they already do) until FdJ gives up and forfeits at least a part of these wagesWe've known this for a while, but it makes the most sense. Especially when they know each other well and most likely have plenty of respect. And that is why EtH is willing to wait longer, as it is a legal power game between Barca and FdJ, which could go on for some time nowso you honestly believe ETH is chasing a player he knows doesn’t want to come?
that’s a bit of a stretch isn’t it?
That's pretty much how it's always been. Who blinks first. It's a standoff and it'll end one way or another. I think Barca might sweat with them wanting Silva especially, and just pay de Jong to get him out and the money inLet's see who blinks first.
Exactly. Both of them are Dutch. Both of them know each other very well. All it takes is just a phone call that even an agent would know nothing about at first. We are playing our game and are in line with FdJ's interests.so you honestly believe ETH is chasing a player he knows doesn’t want to come?

Or they have enough money now to buy him too. These levers were substantial, so they can buy pretty big and register as well. That's pretty much how it's always been. Who blinks first. If he's taller than Martinez, maybe he can play as a CB thenSeen a clip of him out running Dembele in training, never realised he was that quick
