And tell me this:

How would anyone here or anywhere know if he did or he didn't?!
We all read and view media here and there and it's up to everyone to decide to believe or not.
Not really though, that’s why we only accept some tweeters and not others. There always has to be a reliable source

Don't really get this stance from players. 4 months ago Barca were in the UEL and United in the UCL. Could swing back the other way within a single season. Given he's worked with ETH before I'm sure he would be confident of a swift return to the CL if he signed. This seems like bullshit to me.

I don't get where this stuff is coming from about him not wanting to play for us because we're not in the CL. Why would they make that up? Especially if these journos are Barca mouthpieces and Barca want to sell him.
Them being Barca mouthpieces answers your question there mate

I feel like its super simple for Frenkie. Hes happy to stay and get paid what he is owed over the next few years or he is happy to leave as long as Barca pay him the wages that were deferred. If he actually takes a pay cut to stay at Barca the mind boggles. They are just about to spend over £100m on new players. They can afford his wages if thats the case.

Pretty sure this is old news from last week. All the Canut jokes and that.

Sadly i think he said it again today

"I know firsthand that Frenkie de Jong doesn't want to go to Manchester United because they don't play in the Champions League."

His chance of winning the champions league with Barcelona is same as it is with United next season.

If we get this deal done, this it’s a great bit of business, but the fact that it’s still 50/50, is not a good look.

If he decides to take a pay cut and somehow stay at Barça, then it’s an huge embarrassment to the club.

Chasing a player all summer, only for him to stay at his current club.

That’s exactly what happened with Fabregas.

The whole idea that they can just decide to not pay him his deferred wages is insane
Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think that is the scenario here. He has signed a deferred wages contract where-in he is entitled to only receiving small amounts in his first 2 years. And the compensation for the first 2 years, kicks in only in the 3rd year. So if Barca has paid him the low wages for the 2 years, they have honored the contract. They don't owe him anything right now.

But if he refuses to go, then they are forced to pay the compensated wages in the 3rd year, which they are trying to work around, by selling him to us. But FDJ wants to be compensated adequately, for doing Barca the favor of going away.

Barca want to resolve the Frenkie situation regarding his future by this week

It's about fecking time both Barca and FDJ make a final decision. We can't wait without any deadline while our squad need major surgery.

Need a definite answer then move on one way or another.

I’ve stopped taking anything reported in Spain as serious or truthful at all so unless I see Stone, Ornstein or Whitwell say De Jong doesn’t want to join United at all I won’t believe it.

I don’t believe for a second that ETH hasn’t spoken to De Jong or De Jong’s agent himself personally and hasn’t been told De Jong doesn’t want to join United for any single reason, regardless of how inept our last recruitment team were I refuse to believe that ETH wouldn’t have been told De Jong doesn’t want to come and that’s why we’re still involved in this.

I want us to get him so bad. He really will be a game changer for us. We don't have a single player in central midfield that our rivals would want. FDJ and Eriksen will finally have us passing the ball well after years of poor passing and unintelligent football.

I know many want us to end the race but I'd wait until 31st August if that's what it takes to get him. As long as we have deals for substitutes lined up quickly, I'm prepared to go the distance with this one.

We are definitely one of his options, but I doubt we will be his top priority. I am taking wild guess of what his priorities are right now:
1. Barca + money
2. United + money
3. Chelsea or other clubs + money
4. Barca + no money
5. United + no money
6. Chelsea or other clubs + no money

Right now we are at somewhere between 4 and 5.

Thank you. This is about the only scenario that seems to make sense. I have been wondering why de Jong does not just move on and leave it to the lawyers to sort out his back pay if he has a binding contract that entitles him to these wages. Any worker does not have to stay in a job to get what he's 'owed' in pay. However, if as RedDevil notes, the contract is complicated by some clause that requires him to still be there next season in order to receive the 'backpay' then it might explain all the messing about -- Barca claiming that if he goes he forfeits, de Jong hoping for an inducement to go.
