YesObviously ten Hag thinks so, but is he absolutely worth this effort over Tielemans and Neves?
Did you not read the tweets? United are pursuing this transfer due to assurances by de Jong that he wants the move but the wage issues are causing problems.
We're not just wildly chasing a player that doesn't want to come.
Oh ok. ThanksThe club has put this information out.
Is this the new Di maria gag or something? Or has nobody here actually experienced football outside of FM\fifa?Obviously ten Hag thinks so, but is he absolutely worth this effort over Tielemans and Neves?
Aaaah ok no problem!First part of my post was an old saved draft from a frustrated moment that I had decided not to post.. It went along when I answered the second one somehow. I'm still pretty unsure that this deal will come off, but I'm hoping for the best.
I don't know... Tielemans and Neves have Di Maria vibes all over it.Is this the new Di maria gag or something? Or has nobody here actually experienced football outside of FM\fifa?

He’s miles better than both for ETH’s system
Don’t apologise, you’re quite right. They are!I’m sorry but the ‘transfer saga’ and ‘disastrous window’ posts I’m seeing are really annoying. The window doesn’t close until the 1st of September. If it was so simple to get complex transfers done, why not just have a month long window? Because in the real world not every transfer is straightforward with the vast sums of money involved.
If by the start of the season there has been no further signings, or the inkling of any, then yeah fine get a bit concerned. But it’s not even halfway through July for gods sake. Wish people would stop being so negative, dramatic and entitled.
Rant over.

I don’t know if this was discussed before but can’t he sign for us and sue Barcelona for the money owed?
Probably not because it’s contractual and by transferring to United he breaks the contract.I don’t know if this was discussed before but can’t he sign for us and sue Barcelona for the money owed?
Great advice.I keep telling you folk:
Stop giving every Spanish tweet air time, how can you not see they are a clusterfeck of clickbait, they've lost track of the story broadly.
Stone - Ducker - Whitwell are all you need for this one.

Literally? How do you know if the tweet says it if you haven't read it?I literally scroll past every tweet that says FDJ has no interest in joining. We would have walked away a month ago if he had no interest.
Even if we fail to get him, we will get that credible info from one of those three. Every second -third Spanish tweet posted here is massive contraction. All it does is rile up the threadGreat advice.

. “De Jong is reputed to be due to return to training with Barcelona on Monday but United have been given encouragement behind the scenes that he remains open to the move, with sources indicating that they would not have progressed a deal this far if that was not the case, despite claims in Spain that the player has no intention of quitting the Catalan club.”

You'd think that it would be common sense that the club would sound out players before approaching the club with a bid. It would be extremely irresponsible of any club to just assume that a player wanted to join them
I think it's standard practice on any transferYou'd think that it would be common sense that the club would sound out players before approaching the club with a bid. It would be extremely irresponsible of any club to just assume that a player wanted to join them

Yup hence why I have no idea why people are so sure that were going for a player that has no intention of joining us. People who also blame Ten Hag saying he's obsessed with de Jong and is blindly chasing him... it just wouldn't happen. I'm sure ten Hag would have loved to have had Timber, but once he knew he was having doubts, he moved on, sharpishI think it's standard practice on any transfer
