The gap in quality between De Jong and the back ups

The shite these boys talk

Dream job, just link and be obscure about info, gets carried on as legit. ITK and transfer mupperty is the great con.

We aren't dropping 80mil on Neves or whatever the ridiculous fee wolves where touting, not happening. He no where worth it

You missed #GlazersOut from your post

They’ve left the club in the hands of a bunch of suits, if they hired the correct back room staff it would be a completely different story. 1 billion invested under a proper recruit team it would almost be impossible not to be challenging for titles.

Imagine leaving a multi billion world wide brand in the hands of this lot.

!

then he stays and they are stuck with a luxury player that they don’t really need and huge wages, all while still owing him millions.

surely it’s better to get 70mil for him, give him his 17mil and have some money left over from that. They don’t actually need him with the players they have. Ergh hate dealing with them.
That’s exactly what might happen. He is going to stay and they will have to pay him almost 80m Euros over the next 4 years.

Amazing to read people are "bored" of this transfer. Believe it or not, United aren't looking at the transfer window as an opportunity to entertain us fans. The main entertainment will be on the pitch, playing football.

Unless you want more "boring" football and results such as last year, let the professionals do their job. We need a player like FdJ in our team. We'll assess the success/failure of this window in May 2023.

Why can’t Barca just use the money from the transfer to pay the wages they owe him? Sign an agreement or something.
I don't know for sure, of course, but its possible that they have other players on the same situation, don't want to pay them too and are avoiding a precedent.

Barcelona appear to want to have their cake and eat it. They want everyone to take a wage cut, defer wages, not have to pay what they owe, and still sign wotld class players on top of it. fecking ridiculous club really. What sane business operates in such a manner
I thought we were a badly run football club but Barca is like hold my beer and let me show you how to run a football club into the ground.

We should be looking at Fabian Ruiz.

Yes, he's the one to go for if this falls through. Very good player and not much between him and De Jong in terms of quality in my view (although I'm perhaps not as big of a De Jong fan as some others).

omg avoiding the precedent of paying owed wages?:wenger::lol:.

I think you may be right. They probably still owe millions to the former three coaches as well.

Give them a deadline and move on. They are broke. We are acting like we need them.

It makes absolute sense, though. If they pay out De Jong now, all the other players with outstanding wages would rightfully demand the same. It's more than questionable that Barca can afford that

Thank God we got rid of Woodward and his drawn out pursuits that end up with us paying over the odds for someone who isn't all that bothered in the first place.
This new regime is so much bett... wait a minute!

Slightly concerned that we're going to drag this one out, only to ultimately not get the player, and then be in a rush to sign others quickly. Personally, I don't see this happening.

Sticking with my previous post on this. Every time I see a post in this thread, I become a little bit more hopeful, only to find out it's nothing.

I didn't think much of Barcelona to begin with, but to see them being linked to all of these other players whilst also having their money issues is a proper piss take.

I thought they would look at the transfer window as a way of actually signing players as opposed to spending all of it chasing players who clearly do not want to come here and ending up empty handed

Ah shit, I slept through all of summer until september again

The most worrying thing about all this is that the alternatives are a class level below Frenkie.

They can’t speed up. They’ve shown time after time how incompetent they are.

All these new roles designed for failed staff members of Woodwards run is a joke.
The fact that we make so few external appointments speaks volumes. These idiots don't want to be exposed by more competent outsiders.

Name better alternatives for our budget? We've got no chance of getting Rice until next summer and Tchouameni has already been snapped up. Neves would be an acceptable backup target given the circumstances, or we could just stick with McFred again which I'm sure nobody wants.

You're burying your head in the sand.
Maybe I am, and maybe I'm not. But who exactly benefits from me becoming all panicky about it? The club won't move faster because Redcafe is throwing a hissy fit, so why not be patient? We'll have the whole season for doom and gloom

21 days to go before Barca actually have to get their books validated by La Liga.

They'll start sweating. We should just hurry the feck up with Martinez / Antony.

Is there a chance that they are delaying for that very point? If De Jong’s transfer is done after that date they’ll be able use the entirety of the transfer amount on new players?

I think it may happen in early August which isn’t ideal to stop our fans baying for blood. However, in my humble opinion it’s not a big deal as he’ll of gotten his fitness up with Barca and it shouldn’t take him long to slot back into EtH’s way of playing again.

Or I could be completely wrong and it turns out a waste of time:lol:
