Totally agree with that comparison, however don't you have concerns of us being too lightweight without a DM and getting overrun in games.

FdJ is miles better than Pogba defensively so I really don't think it'll be that bad, even next to Fred or Mctominay (and some coaching in there). We'll see though.

Yeah, I don't really see the point in getting De Jong just to play them next Mctominay and Fred. Okay no, I do see the point. But it'll be so depressing to get a player of De Jong's calibre just to play them next to those two. Coaching isn't a magic wand, it won't give Mctominay technique or football IQ haha. I sure hope we get at least two other midfielders alongside De Jong.

I would back Ten Hag to get alot more out of VDB than Ole. Garner is better than McTominay
