Club of his dreams, apparently. That’s one of the only reasons I can think of (if he accepts the salary cut as reported). They’ve possibly done enough to make him feel guilty about his high wage etc. and for some to give up their dreams (for money), isn’t that easy. Why he is so keen on staying there is a real secret. Clearly not rated that highly by club and fans.
What an awful looking website that is, all dingey and grubby looking.
Had to be disbanded when we sold RojoWhat does that Spanish language Man United Forum look like I wonder?

Ornstein still says Chelsea is his most likely decision should he leave Barcelona.
pfft. I heard that if he chooses not to pay to play for Barca, he quite fancies Ballymena Rovers.Ornstein still says Chelsea is his most likely decision should he leave Barcelona.

I'm sorry but how can any Barca fan justify this as the behaviour of an ambitious player? It's one thing wanting to stay there, but this is blatant disrespect by the club and he's accepting it. If my current company told me to take a pay cut I'd be out of there immediately, there's something called self respect in this world.
I can understand not wanting to come to Utd, but to allow yourself to be treated like that, wow!!

He never said that.Ornstein still says Chelsea is his most likely decision should he leave Barcelona.

The Chelsea links seem to have dried up as much as any to us lately, so i don't see how that can beOrnstein still says Chelsea is his most likely decision should he leave Barcelona.

"Chelsea are still keen to sign Frenkie de Jong and may be the midfielder’s most probable destination if he was to leave Barcelona but, as things stand, he will be staying."

That’s probably true. No chance we can afford him now after splashing on Antony. We haven’t even sold hardly anyone.Ornstein still says Chelsea is his most likely decision should he leave Barcelona.
This is so true. Whilst he is an amazing player; as we have seen over recent years attitude is so important. E.g. I preferred a committed Fred over a half arsed Pogba. Not saying FdJ is keen in private to join us (who knows what he is thinking) but the risk of him just sulking here may not be worth the outlay.Would we even want him now, really?
Look at the attitude of Casemiro, Antony, Martinez in coming here. All of them pushed their clubs for the move and have shown a really willingness to get here once it became apparent we were interested. FdJ has known we want him all summer and has had absolutely no interest in joining us over staying a club that don't even want him anymore. There's no point in going for a player like that.
We could afford him, I’m sure, even if some creative accounting or some such is required. That’s probably true. No chance we can afford him now after splashing on Antony. We haven’t even sold hardly anyone.

If he would do anything for the barca he loved, he'd have taken a wage cut ages ago. That's not the reason he's still there. If he takes any kind of wage restructure now, you can be that it favours him in the long term.Mind boggling. Vilified in the media, had fans turned against him, an attempt to push him out, being pushed toward a salary cut with 4 years left on the contract, probably being asked to write off the €17M he is owed, benched, played out of position ...
Sure, that sounds like a sweet deal. Why would he pick being paid 450k a week, be the main man at a club and play for the manager who knows how to get the most out of him and would make him the heartbeat of the team.
The only possible explanation is that he is a Barca fan and would do literally anything to play for them. If that is the case, then questions have to be asked over why we pursued him in the first place. Given all that we are offering and the alternative he has at Barca, this is not a good look for us.
We could afford him... we'd just do a Barca special and pay it over a few seasons instead of all fixed. Either that or we'd suddenly "find" the money if he decided to moveWe could afford him, I’m sure, even if some creative accounting or some such is required.
He has every reason to prefer staying at Barca, from Football, salary and lifestyle. Barca really is a mecca for slick, total football.

He's taking a 50% wage cut, being threatened with legal action over his current contract being "criminal", denied his deferral and bullied into changing a contract he has 4 years left on...
The "... should he leave Barca" changes the "is" to "may be"You mean, apart from the obvious difference that 'may be' and 'is' are two very different things?
I think the idea is they’d freeze him out of the team. Why on earth would he take a pay cut?
They are contractually bound to pay him.
