Wait so now Liverpool are in for him?

Has to be the most comical 'saga' yet

Jesus Christ. The last 14 pages have been 80% people saying ‘urgh, now Liverpool are in for him’

I reckon Barca placed that story in Forbes

When was the last time Forbes broke a transfer story ffs

Didn't even know Forbes cover sports activities unless the finance of clubs.

Hang on... Did you just reply to my "not a single half decent source" with 'Futbol Total', who are quoting a Liverpool fan page?
Hang on......can you read well?
Debating if it's a half-decent source is another matter.

6 days before the deadline,
John Murtough gave to me,
A Dutch player called Frenkieeeee.

5 days before the deadline,
John Murtough gave to me,
A winger called Antonyyyyyy

4 days before the deadline,
John Murtough gave to me,
The dream of winning the league

Well its either they pay him off, or he stays and they pay him EVEN MORE (over the course of a season).

I think they are waiting to offload some other players, and maybe then they will up their compensation for FDJ to leave.

I am starting to suspect that Barca can't afford to up his compensation by much at all. We know that as of right now they don't have the revenue to support registering Kounde's €6M salary this season. It isn't politically viable for Laporta to sell de Jong and not bring in a replacement, which will be costly no matter what.

Even with their new wage structure they will be replacing de Jong's €18M this season with €13-15M through Kounde and the replacement - they also want Alonso apparently, so chalk that up to €18-20M. If they compensate de Jong they will most certainly not be able to afford the fee for Silva. Barcelona are right on the edge of what they can afford even after pulling all those levers, and I suspect they will fight for every euro they can legally get away with.

It's without a doubt the strangest transfer thread I've ever seen and actually a good, if sightly scary, insight into the human psyche. I said this a while ago but it's followed the same trajectory as those wacky conspiracy theories, where if it's said enough times in a self perpetuating way, it becomes a fact for many people. Even when reality is smacking them in the face.
The most ironic, and quite frankly oddest, part about this thread is how every source that poured cold water on the transfer was discredited as not having inside information or making up stories while fanciful narratives were spun from the most random bits of positive news. Some of it was in the spirit of lightheartedness but blind optimism mixed with delusion was at its core. Treating a player deemed surplus requirements as the savior of the transfer window always seemed a bit over the top.

Exactly.

There is enough material in here to write a book on the psychology of tribalism, echo chambers, religion and society.

Things have changed now Liverpool are definitely in for him. Champions league football and all that.

Welcome to the muppet psyche... lighthearted blind optimism mixed with delusion! Sometimes we're self-aware enough to know we're muppets and we celebrate the joys of muppethood! All other times, we hit refresh with fingers crossed and baited breath for that one glorious post from the muppet God... "DoneDealio"!

I don't think the ramblings of muppets during silly season in a thread that has exceeded 68k posts is a great source for that.

Does anyone notice that all of tweets about denying FDJ to us was deleted?

Maybe things are really happening :D

I stated that not a single half decent source had linked him. You replied with a BS source that is taking a report from a Liverpool fan account...

And i'm the one who is struggling to read..!?
