The board did just about everything they could? Barca did everything they could too. The guy just didn't want to leave, not sure what more they could have done?

Exactly. Hes just looking for reactions.

Using my last post of the day to ask @Dennis Viollet (who is viewing this thread) whether or not his sources can indeed confirm that he is Brent, I mean Mark Goldbridge.

Dropped the pursuit when it became clear that Barcelona weren’t going to cough up the money promised to the player. Then gone on to the next target.

@Dennis Viollet, are you Mark Goldbridge or are you just copying his tweets verbatim? If you're copying, please give a source.

Maybe Goldbridge skims through the Caf, finds the most negative posts (has a goldmine to pick from) and then posts them as his own?

Can’t rule it out.

Why would he move and risk losing out on the 17m euros that Barcelona owe him? As soon as that was made public it was always clear that the transfer was highly complicated and very unusual. We got fecked over by Barcelonas own incompetence. Now we have to sit back and hope Barcelona get fecked over financially this season as that will put us in a much better position to negotiate the price down next Summer.

Maybe he believes in himself and thinks he can make even more money by achieving more somewhere else? Of course he can stay and play a part-time CB while tolerating all kinds of abuses. Or he can admit he's been scammed, cut losses, and start over at a proper club to be one of the greatest. He's still young and nobody knows which course will make him more prosperous.

Looks like our pursuit of De Jong is done. Disgrace. Absolute disgrace. Ten Hag's number 1 priority chased all summer and they've failed. This is why we'll always be screwed under the Glazers. Run by incompetence.

Oh man, of all the people to copy from and you pick a Forest fan who is known to have the worst takes ever.

I'd log yourself out and try again under a different account, maybe let someone else take the username of a genuine legend of the club as well.

If his decision is made based on how much money he gets (when either will be "tens of millions"), that'd be a sad indictment on him.

I get he doesn't want to 'lose' 17m but he's hardly strapped for cash, and never will be.

I'd say its the principal. I'd say he is pissed about how they have treated him and wants to make a point. In a way, he's sort of standing up for other players too. If Barca manage to get him to forget about the 17m, they'll try similar with other players until someone stands up to them successfully.

I dislike Goldbridge as much as anyone, but the point he is making is right.

Most of these deals could have been done well before August and we would have had a settled 11 by now. Unlike other big clubs, United don't do their deals early, and this hampers the manager and the team's preparations. This is directly attributable to how the Glazers run the club.

Absolutely, me too (the principle).

IF he wanted to leave and IF Barcelona wanted to sell, I'd like to believe there's a compromise whereby they can reduce that 17m figure down to a point that's 'acceptable'.

Maybe he is just a Goldbridge fanboi. Think about that!! :nervous: :nervous:
Had to unblock Goldbridge to quickly check that one ... erggh. Blocked again now
This is not a drill. There' s a viable buyer for our beloved club there who everyone would like to give a go. Now is the time to Unify and use everything to get the Glazers out. It's now or never and we all have a huge part to play.

But why dont United just PAY him the extra 17 million euros? Money is clearly not a problem if they can find £100 million to throw at Anthony?! He must just not want to come to United - but if thats the case he or his agent must have been lying to Ten Hag and the club for 3-4 months or more.

This was obviously done when we moved for Rabiot, thankfully we ended up with Casemiro instead. We were never buying 2 CMs + Eriksen.

If we lose to Southampton we have a chance. Liverpool win rules this out for now. Honestly think this is our transfer strategy.

Was always likely to be the case that we were done forcing the issue after signing Casemiro... Still believe that if Barcelona find the solution (Pay him!) We'll step in no matter what we've told journalists.
