Nice to see that there are Barcelona fans with a bit of sense and decency. Good response.

Honestly I suspect that the vast majority of actual Barcelona fans, don't like what has happened this summer. They probably like the signings but not the way things have been done.

Until he stays on his huge contract and they can't register all their shiny new toys and buy others... then they'll hate him haha

Frenkie needs to stop being a **** beta **** and take control of the situation. Any chance we can get Andrew Tate as his life coach for a season or two?
Scenario 1 - Complete and utter refusal to leave until the club repays the money they basically scammed from you. Don't give a feck about the blatant media blackmail, threats and so forth until you get what you are owed.

Scenario 2 - Accept that you got scammed and be forced out without a fight because you are scared of being disliked.

Scenario 3 - Be so desperate to stay that you accept you got scammed and accept a new contract that is even more of a scam.

I'd say the stand that he is taking is the only one that isn't being a '**** beta ****' as you so delicately put it.

People here asking "What do Chelsea need with him" and generally not knowing shows the difference between their transfer policy and United's (also could say the same about Bayern, City, Real, Barca or virtually an other top, ambitious club)...

Chelsea - planning ahead to fill a position they will probably need 1 year from now; adding quality to an already deep and talented pool; if they get him, they may have a surplus of quality midfielders competing for playing time for 1 year (hardly the worst problem in the world) and they can decide how to proceed next summer based on form/performance this year

United - let Pogba and Matic walk without signing or getting a transfer fee when they had value; trying to scrape by with below average CM options and no depth whatsoever; now in a desperate situation to sign FDJ and if it doesn't work out, are basically forced into paying over the odds for whatever flawed CM that may be available and willing to come in the last weeks of the transfer window.

Just mind-blowing ineptitude and shortsightedness by United once again.

Yeah, but Chelsea need 4-5 players in other positions first...that's why I don't understand. Like I've said they need at least 1 centre back but rather 2, they need a right winger, and they need a striker before they need another CM in the squad.

Already registered players can't be unregistered unless they leave or sign a new contract

They can, however they'd still have to pay his wages which changes nothing for their FFP struggles

CL is playing a huge part in it, but Ornstein has already said CL won't be the deciding factor IF he leaves. He'll weigh up everything and decide overall. He apparently has no preference of club
Right, and he's been the exception, unfortunately. Even the journalists who aren't closely tied to any of the clubs (e.g. Mokbel and Burt) have been picking up that narrative.

I wouldn't be surprised if most don't care at all and are just happy with their new signings.

What makes you think Chelsea aren't going for players in those positions as well? It's possible to go for multiple targets at once.

Yeah, if anything until now, he is being as vindictive and stubborn as you could realistically image. Most players leave for less, the simple prospect of becoming a regular bench option see them try to leave at all cost.

Also, they've spent €187 million so far this summer whilst only receiving €29m from player sales & loans.

If Leicester is going to sell Fofana, Chelsea will have to make him the most expensive defender ever (would be another ~€100m), whilst de Jong would also cost around the same if they are going to cover his deferred wages as well as the transfer fee paid to Barca.

No way they spend €400m with almost no sales & end up with no striker in the squad
Agreed. Also chelsea play 3 at the back which allows one of the CBs to step out and try to create something or they give it to jorginho to dicate. Where does frenkie fit in?

In a back four he will/can drop back between the CBs to pickup the ball and dicate play from there. Also drop into the full back poisiton, when the fullback is high up the pitch.

With a back 3 such as one at chelsea, it would negate his natural style of play.

Because they're after Fofana and he's going to cost you 85m or thereabouts. You need a striker or two as priority, so let's say 50 to 100m on them... de Jong + deferred wages will likely be another 90m or so. I just can't see you spending close to 400m in one summer.

I can see you getting fofana for a new UK defender record then getting a striker or two.

The fact that you've already spent a considerable amount of money without any big outgoings...are you gonna end up spending 400-500 million whilst only selling Werner for peanuts?

If we're being honest, there's nothing stopping them spending that much at all, but it would be overly excessive and the pressure on Tuchel to deliver would be incredible. If he fecked up he'd be gone I bet

Nah, if we spend what you say, we will sell a few more.

And we've been FAR more linked to Fofana and even Aubamayang than to De Jong. It's bollocks in my opinion.

About as rejected as United right now
Well if Chelseas big boss has spoken directly to de Jong as reported and got no enthusiasm at all towards a move to Chelsea, that doesn't really bode well does it?

Then again as I've been saying we don't know what's true and what's not now

Might have told him he has to play at shortstop.

Nice strawman. As you conveniently overlooked it, I said to read literally 10 posts above yours on the same page. Is reading one page of posts a lot for you? Imagine how hard it is for the rest of us having to read the same question a hundred times over while you continuously spout nonsense that misleads others. Admit you were wrong, too lazy to read, and move on.

Woooooooosh

“Frenkie’s partner is desperate to continue living in Barcelona”

then stay there then. Why are football players so whipped?!

Why is a person prioritizing his private life and where he lives over where he chooses to work?

feck I swear people forget that these are in fact human beings and have lives outside of football. Someone's partner isn't an object ffs.

It was no enthusiasm towards leaving Barca full stop. Jason Burt's tweet isnt even new news, his exact words were reported like a week ago by Mundo Deportivo.... So he is rehashing other peoples news too

Both us and Utd have had that feedback. As you say who knows the truth but there has been one constant throughout the whole saga -

FDJ doesnt want to leave

"I dont want De Jong to join Chelsea if it meant Gallagher couldn't play" Classic Jody Morris.

To be fair you’ve been cucked left, right and centre this summer. It’s too early to claim we’ve been rejected from De Jong
If you guys keep saying this, do you think that you might start believing we've had a worse window than you? I don't think so.

As for getting "cucked" (and I don't think that means what you think it means, i know my porn searches), if you aim for the stars sometimes you miss. If you go for the likes of Arnautavic then of course you get a free run.

Our bid got rejected, mate

I've always felt the situation is pretty clear...and the recent news pretty much confirms it to me. FDJ wants to stay at Barca, but he's not going to do it by slashing his salary. He wants to explore EVERY avenue possible to stay...but is willing to leave if there is no scenario where he stays and gets paid what he's owed in his current contract. He's not yet at the point...but he's expressed that when he is he's made private assertions that he would come to us. Otherwise there'd be no reason at all for us to continue to pursue it.

Pretty simple. Not anything crazy or unreasonable. Just have to let it play out and hopefully we get him in the end.

A Barca fan I work with said something to that effect. He's also a bit embarrassed by this whole FDJ chaos the club has instigated.
