We completely made up a Kaká rumour once when he was in his pomp. It made the papers as an exclusive and aggregators started adding inside source references and stuff. It was hilarious. Has to be in the classics surely?
Just proves how easy it is to spread false rumours and the sorts haha. I wish I'd have seen that.

Does make me wonder how much of the info journos get from their sources is first hand info and how much is "heard from a guy who knows a guy who's involved in things"

I don't remember that, why did we do it?

So it seems Barcelona is selling Nico Goncales. It wouldn't be good for United.

Valencia agreed on a loan deal for Nico. The player himself wants to remain at Barcelona but wants regular minutes, so he wants a loan spell out of the club for this season. There's no way Barcelona will sell Nico unless both Nico and Jorge Mendes really force their hand.

Brownie is right of course. CL for one season will not be the deciding factor. But I agree with you that it is a factor, more so in terms of the coming several seasons. A player of FDJ’s calibre wouldn’t sign for, say, Brentford - regardless of the money - if he did he might never play CL again.

FDJ is chinless but also sensible and will consider the club’s prospects for success and for CL qualification (also, money, Londoniness etc) and we can always hope he has the foresight to look beyond one shit result, largely caused by the shit players he will replace (when he comes here).

And let’s hope that your gloomy assessment of our prospects turns out to be mistaken - if FDJ does come, we’ll be transformed!

I hope with every bone in my body that you are correct.

let's offer FDJ 50M in a wages packet over 4 seasons and a 20M signing bonus to soften the blow.

And Ter Stegen you're welcome at the club too.

Probably a chance of signing Ter Stegen if we didn't have a keeper on astronomical wages

I know there’s a lot of doom and gloom because of weekend result.

But I honestly don’t think the team is as bad as a lot of us feel. Everyone in football knows central midfield is your engine room which dictates how you play. If it’s weak, then your whole team will be fragile. You simply can’t have any passengers in that area. It’s one of the reasons Klopp has always been so reluctant to make changes in there and remain loyal to his workhorses that have always been reliable.

For years now we have had to put up with bang average midfielders who are affecting every facet of our game. That’s why it’s critical to the foreseeable future for us to acquire players like FDJ because he will naturally improve everyone else’s game as we will strengthen the heart of the team.

Weekend was a perfect example of weakness in our midfield getting exposed and transforming the whole result. Mctominay losing the ball and giving them the chance to take the lead. A very simple mistake but so costly in crucial moments has been happening far too often. Naturally when players in your own team can see you have a poor player in a certain position, then team mates can often abandon their primary role to compensate for the weakness in the team.

I can not wait for the end of McFred and really hope we can get FDJ over the line. It really will be the true start to the future under ETH. It’s so important to eradicate McFred that I genuinely believe if that is our main midfield again this season, it will potentially lead to ETH getting the chop too because the weekends pressure is only going to amplify more as we get pumped by not only Liverpool and city but probably Arsenal, spurs and Chelsea too.

No idea outside of this tweet but cesión means he's being sold

If you translated it literally, then yeah, but every time I've read a Spanish Tweet, they used that word to indicate a temporary assignment. It makes sense given that the word also translates to "assignment" in English. If this was a permanent transfer, they'd use a word like fichaje.

Haha I think ~90% of Bayern fans could tell you the game and the goal where this picture was taken

I genuinely feel two players in those areas will save united dropping points, and even add draws into wins with a cdm and frenkie
Like my post just now I completely get where you are coming from. I’ve always believed the 2 central midfielders and the striker are the most important positions in a team. Everything else around it is complimentary. On the weekend we had Fred, Mctominay and Erikson in a false 9 in those positions. Improvements in the first two at least is definitely the difference of a couple of positions in the league.

I didn't follow the whole thread, did Barca present any evidence for their claims or is it just "we found some criminal stuff, yeah totally, you better sign this new contract, because we really found criminal stuff"?

It absolutely is... was just reading it. That is absolutely epic haha

That's fantastic, they inserted some random shell company in the TV deals to inject €150M of their own money and are outraged La Liga don't share their view that it is fresh revenue.

You know what would be great right now? Being a Real fan. This is funny as feck once you forget we got schooled by BHA.

I have a feeling Real Madrid executives may actually be concerned about Barcas downfall. This has a correlated affect on Real Madrid. Kind of like the Scottish league where Celtic and rangers need each other. Real Madrid need Barca to stay relevant in order to keep La Liga relevant otherwise it’ll just become the Bundesliga.

Barca fans being humble as usual:

Also fans of other teams coming in here to mock us and talk about how despicable Barca as a club is......think about it this way.

World Class players and talents are still dying to come and play for FC Barcelona whereas your teams struggle to attract the same players despite being all clean and everything.

We are absolutely massive and too big to fail and there's nothing you can do about it!

La Liga has far and away the most Europa League wins and a few teams not called Real or Barcelona have made the CL semis/final since we last did.

It's nothing like Scotland.

Never said it was like Scotland other than the idea of the big 2 needing each other.

I’m certain Real Madrid would not be the force they are if it wasn’t for Barca rivalling them in strength. A one team domination of the league would see interest and revenues dwindle.

Err.... are you an old users regen?

It was back when there was nothing to do or worry about all summer, so we randomly picked and invaded internet forums and stuff like that.
Ahh now I get what you're talking, thought you meant the club insinuated those rumors.

Must have been around 2007, I only checked match threads then , not much into transfer shenanigans.

Nico is a loan deal. Probably being prepped to replace busquets next season.
