Thats the thing, no one knows whats going on.
Ornstein is reporting on Chelsea and others are reporting using his reports. He's got the info from somewhere, where i don't know and i'm sure we'll never find out. Are Cheslea actually interested? Is this a leak from Barca or de Jongs agents to get United to hurry up and pay his deferred wages? Is there going to be a huge turnaround where de Jong says screw it i'll take the cut and stay?
It's just so confusing and the stories going round are just flip flopping everywhere. I'm thinking that whilst Chelsea might be interested, IF this news is from Spain, it's been released by Barca to get us, and possibly Chelsea too, moving.

You know, every so often there’s a post on here that makes me panic. What you just said there about FDJ taking a cut scares me. If he feels like I do now he will be thinking, “yeah, this is crazy, I love it here, my girl loves it here, let’s just get the best deal we can and stay.”
Even a few days ago I thought that was just not a realistic outcome but now it actually sounds possible.
I wont be that upset if he goes to Chelsea, because if he is the kind of person who prioritizes city + immediate CL over ETH's project, then he's probably not the right guy for us. The only scenario where this could be embarrassing for us is if he truly had no interest in coming at all, or we balked over some sort of payment and allowed someone else to slip in. Like refusing Haaland's release clause.
It wouldn't surprise me though to be fair.

If Chelsea sign de Jong it would confirm they’re nothing but Barca’s bitch! Not only have they been mugged off by them twice by having 2 deals for their top targets hijacked, now they go and hand them 80m for a player they’re desperate to get rid of to further bail them out, just for the privilege.
