Barca don’t need to sell FDJ as they have squired over €500 million by selling their TV rights for the next 25 yrs to a company called sixth street. They are also selling 50% of their licensing and Merchandising rights. Selling the family Silver so to speak. How they will survive with what’s left long term is questionable but for now they have the credit if not the cash. United, not for the first time, have been taken for a ride by a Spanish club.

Pretty sure outside of his agent and his girlfriend FDJ isn't talking to anyone so I am not sure even club sources can help. On the basis of both his relationship to ETH and his agent having clients at the club I am fairly sure that if moving to United is ever firmly off the table they would have the decency to let us know so until that point we just watch the interminable staredown with Barca play out.
Exactly, everyone just guessing what's on his mind at this point.

He agreed to deferred €17m of his salary from 2020-22 to 2022-26. He signed the contract. They cannot pay him his salary of the next 4 years in advance.
So they defer his wages, and then they ask him to leave.
Cant you sense the controversy?

They absolutely do need to sell. Not about revenue but about squad cost cap. They cannot register all their shiny new players if something doesn’t give.

That’s great but he’s doesn’t play…

So what happens when there is only a day before the window closes? I think the board should put united first. Yes we can wait until all the legal issues are cleared between FDJ and barca but at what cost? Get a player that is a first team player and integrate him these last couple of weeks and barca can get fecked.

for once I’d love us to have everything set in regards to transfers and start the season locked in. Saying all that, ETH presence fills me with confidence and optimism.Just which we give him the best platform possible (I know he is hellbent on FDJ). Rant over.

1106 pages worth of people explaining why what you said is incorrect. I don't blame you for not wanting to read all that, but.

So from my understanding:

They couldn't register either Lewandowski or Raphinha without selling de Jong. Now they also have Kounde, and are still after more players. How many de Jongs do they have to sell!?

Not sure but i believe theres a few players they want to ship out, de Jong and Memphis included. A few of them a fringe players though... anyone they can rid of would be a bonus at this point though i'd imagine

Luckily for you, there's a thousand plus pages for you to read in this thread, to understand what you have just wrote, is incorrect!

IMO thats the real reason they are so desperate to get rid of Frenkie. They'll find some way to register those signings somehow, but deep down they are crazy for Silva.

What a wild club.

More sensationalism from ManagingBarca...

On Bernardo Silva, they're not necessarily working on his transfer at this time. He's in their shortlist in case Frenkie de Jong leaves. They also made it seem like Alonso's attainable in this Tweet when the article reports the exact opposite. In fact, Barcelona have moved on to Johan Mojica given that he's a cheaper alternative.

Barca is not dumb. They knew they would do all these levrs when they negotiated Dejong fee. They don't need him due to an abundance of quality midfielders and he's filling in at cb. They will eventually pay him off to leave.

What a wild club.

Even more shocking is that fact that no one will really bat an eyelid at it. They'll carry on as normal, and find a way (a few million €€€ under the table most likely) to register all their new players should de Jong not leave.

Xavi identified Frenkie being a poor fit early on last season and even subbed him off first a couple of times. He doesn't really offer much in a 433 (his shooting, final ball and overall decision making is poor at times) and he can't play the lone DM, only in a double pivot. Great player but he isn't worth it for Barca to reshape the entire formation around imho hence the club wanting to sell. ten Hag is truly the best manager to get the best out of him, a reason why Europes elite aren't queuing up to sign him.

Would be a fantastic upgrade for us if we could sell Frenkie and get Bernardo but that is a tall order, can't see City letting him go.

No it’s not. He is owed over €20m a year for the next 4 years because he agreed to earn less in 20-22. If he doesn’t play at Barca in 22-26 they won’t pay him anything.
You don’t get it do you. They are trying to make him leave or reduce his salary so they don’t have to honour their obligation. If they need him to leave then he’s rightfully saying that he won’t until they pay up. Barca are risking not paying a settlement of around 20m euros against losing an 80m transfer fee and wages of over 80m euros over the next 4 years. The odds are hugely against Barca.

Offered by whom? City are certainly not pushing him out of the door so it would have to be his agent and I am pretty sure his agent would not be the one setting the price. So far as Silva goes I know Pep has a policy of letting players go if they want to leave but he also said several weeks ago that if Barca were interested they needed to move quickly so he would have time to sign a replacement. This close to the start of the season City will be very reluctant to sell.

Just proves overall that Managing Barca is not even Tier 5 for this stuff, just a propaganda machine for the President.

You do know that account isn’t a source?

That's coming from a not-so-reliable journalist in Hugo Guillemet, who mentioned Silva in a report where he linked Lucas Paqueta to Manchester City. No one else has corroborated both of those bits.
I believe in Hugo. Believe.

At this stage, barca are wanking into a oxfam sock, wiping their dick on a homeless man's curtains.

Horrible dirty Spanish bastards.

Of course, could be just slamming their knob repeatedly in a dodgy cupboard drawer. Result is the same.

All of your analogies have a similar vein running through them.
