Would improve us and would love him to come, however, I feel he has set a miserable tone for the future should he ever want to come.
Not only would it work, it would be ideal along with Eriksen.Theoretically, do we think Casemiro and FDJ would work together?
Frenkie is not an 8 in the traditional sense, neither is Eriksen. We are playing with two sixes, one is allowed to drop deep to collect the ball and get forward as well. Not only would it work, it would be ideal along with Eriksen.
Where Casemiro plays as a #6 behind those 2 who play #8.
Frankie has never been a #6, that's Busquets role, every time FdJ has played in that role, he as struggled. His best position is as a CM in front of a #6.Frenkie is not an 8 in the traditional sense, neither is Eriksen. Dunno, Bellingham would be twice the price and our hit record with Bundesliga players is shaky at best.Amigos, I’ve lost track of Frenkie over the last month and to be honest I’m kind of done with him.
Question for the caf: if we had the chance to bring in either De Jong or Bellingham, would it not be a no-brainer that we go all in for Bellingham?
Who do you think we should sign in that role
Very different players. If we aren’t going for De Jong, we still need to go for someone of a similar profile. Caqueret for example (though haven’t caught any of him this season, so no idea now he’s been doing).Amigos, I’ve lost track of Frenkie over the last month and to be honest I’m kind of done with him.

Feels like this runs counter to both what Ajax and Barca followers have said: At Ajax he was at his best the more central and deepest of two 6-es/CM’s (with Schöne), with freedom to progress and roam, but not in front of a CM.
At Barca he’s mostly played as an 8 in front of a 6/DM in Busquets, with very limited success. Seems he cannot be a DM, nor is he suited to olay ahead of a DM. I assume for Ten Hag, he would play like Eriksen does now, as one of two CM’s with different tasks when it comes to advance play.

Not every time, but it goes against his nature to be an anchor man of sorts. I think in general he's best next to either a 6 or an 8 instead of being in front or behind of either. In such a setup he has more of his roaming space, while he and the 6/8 cover each other's spaces when one moves forward (or backwards to pick up the ball).Frankie has never been a #6, that's Busquets role, every time FdJ has played in that role, he as struggled. Agree that Eriksen is not a #8, but he'll do a better job in a 433 than Bruno ever will.
Yup, think the best way to describe De Jong would be some sort of 6/8 hybrid. He’s amazing at the possession aspect of a 6, and can carry / pass the ball forward really well, but he’s basically 0 at the defensive aspects and needs a proper DM alongside him.

I would love De Jong but he seems hellbent on staying at Barca, so Bellingham I guess.
I'm a big big fan of them dropping klarna payments on a massive transfer window only for this to happen. Fingers crossed.Barcelona will (again) be in the Europa League by January anyway - just what he wanted to avoid!

Can stay there for the rest of the season for all I care, pandering to his Barca-life loving GF, whilst he rots away on the bench. Last thing we need at the club is another prima donna.Didn't start again tonight. Lovin' his CL nights.
Good for him. We moved on for good and we really dont need player with a poor attitude or not wanting to join UnitedI think he’s under the impression he’s taking over for Busquets next season which probably was a huge factor in staying.
He'd probably be very disappointed then because he isn't a like for like replacement at all. I could see Barca trying to entice Rodri next summer while FdJ continues to be a bit part player.I think he’s under the impression he’s taking over for Busquets next season which probably was a huge factor in staying.
He's getting his deferred salary now, so that £17m he's owed will be creeping down, week by week.I see everyone has decided to forget the matter of the £17m then?
Said in the Mbappé thread yesterday, it really doesn’t take much at all for onlookers with very little info to slap a ‘poor attitude’ tag on a player these days.
