Gaming Fortnite .

We played earlier, though I pretty much sucked. I just need to get used to the whole aiming at people isn't exactly what you hit thing this game has going on

What time are you usually on?

Mostly after 10pm UK time. Sometimes around 5ish.

Ive never playef this. I dont intend to, ever

Is there any good reason to change my mind?

I’ve only played this like twice but now it’s getting a switch release I have a horrible feeling my life is about to be over for a while.

Just had a game on the Switch and it holds up really well, it's the full console version not the mobile one, and so far it runs impressively well. It's not great for the eyes on the small screen though when you are used to sniping!

Tried to play again on my PC last night. On lowest settings it runs smoothly and it's so much easier to build with mouse buttons. Problem with lowest settings is people are made of 5 pixels and you can't see what you're doing at all at range. I'll resign good graphics but difficult building on PS4...

That’s good news been too many dodgy ports on the switch so was hoping this would be ok, do you have a NA account to have it already?

I find the PS4/Console building to be pretty decent now. Put builder pro mode on in the controls and you'll soon get used to it.

Whatever you do though, don't attempt KB/M on it. You'll be in for a world of hurt

Yeah I have NA and JAP accounts. The EU servers are up for it too, it's just the store which is still down. Though that's fine, because I'm not fecking spending money on this version since I can't use my real account :( It does play well though, but like I say, it's probably going to be better in docked mode so you can see what the hell is going on more. That being said, I just won a 50-50 game on handheld and killed a couple of people and the building/framerate seemed fine compared to the PS4 version so it seems like a decent job done.

Yeah FPS are the only thing on the switch I struggle with handheld, I’ve definitely reached a point in splatoon where I’m struggling to compete because I can’t keep track of what’s going on. Should be back to tv mode next month though.

I've tried builder pro once before and couldn't get used to it. I'll persevere this time. It's a shame I didn't think to switch as soon as I started playing so I didn't get used to default.

My PC cost me the best part of a grand about 7 years ago and it already can't run fortnite. It's crazy a handheld device can now outperform it.

Do you know the specs? It should be able to do better than that. Worst case, you could even get a sub £100 gfx card in it to run Fortnite.

But yeah, builder pro is definitely the way to go on console, persevere dude it's worth it.

Wowzer, I forget how far back 7 years is. But yeah, the gfx card is the problem there, the single core speed of the phenom II is enough to run the game fine. Was that really a grand though? I thought that processor was sub £100 new, was it purely the gpu and ssd that did that?

I may be off on the price to be honest... 7 years was a long time ago! That included the monitor and everything too though. I remember the SSD was expensive, but they were new at the time and I really fancied one.

Do you all use headphones? Any suggestions? Think I'll buy myself a pair. Watching some videos of Ninja and Sypher and they seem to be able to hear exactly where people are. I can hear footsteps on my TV but I'll be fecked if I know where they're coming from.

I built my PC 7 years ago as well, and it still slays most games, I've updated the graphics card is all.

Intel i5 2500k (huge overclockability on this cpu) Currently run it at 4.8ghz OC.
16GB RAM (Haven't updated)
Had a GTX 260 Black Edition (souped up OC'd card from my previous rig)

I've since upgraded the card from 260 BE -> 660 -> 680 -> 1060 (last year).

The CPU/MB/Ram is still slaying.

There are much better players than those guys if you want to see freak high level play, if you just want the big community feel then yea those guys are good.

Like who?

Like who?

Hard to find many better than those you named. FaZe Tfue is probably the best player I've seen - his aim, in particular, is immense.

As for the headphones, yeah, you should invest in a good pair that can be used across all platforms. I purchased the Astro A40s back in 2015 for £200 and they're still going strong.

Do they need a separate DAC on top of that?

I'm interested in this answer too.

People often say it, but I've never seen anyone mentioned who I don't already know about. Tfue and Nick Eh 30 are the only ones really on Ninja's level consistently, but all the top guys can compete at any point. There's sweaty players who go for win records and all that, it's not what Twitch players do as it's dull, but it doesn't mean that they are even close to the level of the aforementioned.

I love how he often talks about that being a weakness of his and he needs to improve. Yeah...right.

If anything, he needs to improve on not shouting "BRO!" every 5 seconds.

Anyone want a game on Switch?

Didn't Ninja just win some big tournament?

Those tournaments are typically popularity contests atm.

I'd put Reaver miles beyond Sypher, and definitely above Ninja in pure skill. Reaver is the guy TimTheTatMan plays with when he wants to be hard carried, and he is definitely one of the top players, just not popular.

And following people around in tournaments as his meta game.

I literally made the same comment to a friend of mine. Every sentence has "...bruh".

He's a great builder and easily, easily the best editor in the game but he's nowhere near Tfue or Ninja - and it's been illustrated in his match ups against the Faze clan in the Keemstar tournament. On a side, Nick eh 30 is a tremendous human being - well worth a watch.

Ninja didn't get to where he is by being popular, a Halo pro who literally beasts at every game he touches. He is as good as Reaver, if not better.

Reaver is so entertaining, his screams are hilarious. Love it when Tim and Reaver plays together.

Christ it is hard to play with these controls

There are so many different parts about Fortnite that I think player comparisons are useless unless there's an obvious difference in quality. Is it based on who can get the most kills, who can survive the longest, who does best in 1 vs. 1, or who does better in solos, duos, or squads?

I've known him since he was like 13. There was a girl that would be on our comms in the game we were playing, and we could legitimately not tell the difference between the two :) He's incredibly skilled from a mechanical point of view. He was at one point considered the best Widow in OW in the world I think.

Ninja got to where he is, by being the best early adopter of Fortnite. A halo pro? When was there a pro halo scene on PC, I'm being honest, I wasn't aware it existed. Maybe 6-8 months ago, when Reaver didn't know how to build Ninja was a better player. All you have to do is watch both guys for about 20s to see the difference in their skillsets. Reaver has elite of the elite aim and tracking. Ninja has adequate aim for an elite player, but his success is predicated on building and overall game intelligence which he absolutely excels at.

I mean, the first time I watched Ninja, I watched him whiff about 6 shottie blasts in a row and still eventually kill the guy. You watch reaver for any length of time, and you will see shit like this.
