The other option could be to implement the 4 hour rule after 10 picks, and then perhaps down to 2 hours after 20 picks if people are desperate to keep the momentum going. I'm sure it'll pick up though as it's been a bit sluggish so far - 4 picks in 27 hours which means 9 days for everyone to do 2 picks.

Agreed, something needs to be done as this is going to take a year to complete at this rate.

One idea to speed things up would be that everyone messages Tuppet their preferred 20 or so players remaining and that if there are not any clashes then those players are selected. Where there are clashes, there will then need to be a draft.

We tried that last time and it ends up a mess. Everyone clashes and gets like 2 out of 20 players.

I agree about upping the pace but I don't want a randomizer. It's all well and good for me to list 20 players but what if I get randomly picked 5 defenders in one turn? It would be too hard to balance the team.

I think we need to bring back the auction.

I think you misunderstood my point. Everyone nominates 20 players that would make a pool of 320 players. We randomize the pool based on player positions into sets: For example: Set 1: Messi, Obertan,Shaqiri, Wilshere, Barry
Set2: Iniesta, Sterling, Fellaini, Macheda, Cleverley.
....
..

And so on. So when my turn comes- instead of choosing a single player- I'd be choosing one of these set of players

Ah I see. Sorry, I misunderstood. I don't think this would make much of a difference to the speed though. We're still going to get 8 hour waits with drafters not knowing it's their turn.
