I am not sure how that would work but there won't be any snatching and stealing so no need for any card. The transfer has to be consented by both teams just like in real life. I'll think of some way in which the contract situation and both buying and selling club's standing could be taken in place, that is a player might force the move or chose to run his contract down if he is unhappy etc.

Everyone would protect there 2 most important players. Then you can target 2 players you would like to bring in. Without everyone losing everything
 
I am also trying to think of some way to speed up the process after first 15 picks. There would be a lot of nothing picks, so any ideas are welcome.

Teams that finished top wouldn't want to sell anyone and the teams that finished bottom would have no chance of moving up.

Another auction round for the last 5 should go quite quickly

Oh there would be other players in the pool, You can always buy from Liverpool or City or something.

Just reduce the pick times in half.
 
How about if we let AI do the business (so we have laughs when Ronaldo is sold from team p-nut for peanuts) and at the end of the transfer window I'll tell you what's the transfer and salary budget left and you can decide if you want to spend it and who you want to spend it on. If its a player from another in Redcafe league they must agree otherwise you can buy a player from other clubs at a price they are willing to sell.
It could be too complicated so I don't know.

Could squeeze the picking window down to 2-4 hours.
 
Always thought 8 hrs/pick was way too long. Cut it in half, not hard to leave your pick with someone.

I second this. Considering there are over 300 picks left... this could take a few weeks at current pace.

Chill mate it's always been that way. If we didn't have time limits the draft would never get finished. There will be others that miss their picks no doubt.

With all due respect. I'm on the other side of the world. That 8 hours was me sleeping. If there's not going to be a concession then what's the point in playing for me?

I work nights so I'm in the same boat. I go sleep at 6am UK time. If I get tagged anytime in the morning I'll most likely miss my pick. It's not the end of the world I'll just pick when I wake up. It's happened perhaps once in all the drafts I've played where the player I wanted to pick had gone because I missed my pick.

It happens, so not a problem. We would appreciate if you can send your pick (may be a few) to someone else so they can select the player when you're not online. I am mostly online so just shoot your picks over when you are going away for long duration and I'll pick for you. That is how the 4 hours rule, if we implement it, is going to work.

No one will go for this, but I'll put it out there. The 8 hours should be 10 since this is a global forum. Just to give people the chance to get in and get their picks. There aren't that many good players in fairness.

See Tuppets advice above. Make a convo with 3 or 4 of the people that pick after you and just drop a couple of your picks in there before you go to sleep. That way they'll just post your pick for you and sending a couple means that at least 1 of them will be available.

The other option could be to implement the 4 hour rule after 10 picks, and then perhaps down to 2 hours after 20 picks if people are desperate to keep the momentum going. I'm sure it'll pick up though as it's been a bit sluggish so far - 4 picks in 27 hours which means 9 days for everyone to do 2 picks.

It may be worth going straight back to another auction after everyone has 10 players. There are roughly 300 picks left and this is going so slow.
