Ok, someone explain to me how this bit works please. Is it that the player is offered and if I want I get? I only have 99 mil, how will that work?

Now, the remaining money only matters to define the pecking order for the 2nd part of the drafting process. No longer an auction process

Rt will choose one player and after that he will tag paulscholes
then paulscholes will choose one player and after that he will tag you
and then you will choose one player and after that you will tag stobzila
and then stobzilla...
...
..
raees will choose 2 plzyers and tag edgar
edgar tags me
 
@Tuppet Just out of interest, how much tinkering is needed to translate CM data from 95/96 to modern day FM. Are all the attributes the same? or are there some missing and are they all still rated out of 20 etc.

:D Nobody made offers on your priorities unless you have ignored some famous names to preserve your budget :(

I tried to make some active bidders always spend more.

As far as I'm concerned, Andeva provided a list of top 10 priorities including players like Keane, Nedved, Cantona, Stam, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo...Forgot to follow the Keane deal.

Ready to spend 120 millions on Ronaldo but I was blocked when p-nut made his offer. So, I've opted for Romario: 80 milions. Active bids on Stam, Cantona before sleeping. An eye on Nedved. I wake up and see Andeva spent 75 millions on Roberto Carlos :D

35 millions for 3 players then.

I didn't realise but I'm in a good position. Have just analysed all the teams in a spreadsheet and have a couple of players up my sleeve.

I was getting him the second this draft was announced. The fact I've managed to pair him with Henry just makes it even sweeter.

:lol: I always start with a couple of players I want to get no matter what. I managed to get 1 of them this time so I'm happy. Nedved and Zanetti were the others but with so much money tied up I was pretty stuck.
 
Do we have to follow a structure with player positions? For example...

25 man squad - 3 GK / 9 DF / 9 MD / 4 FW

Or can we pick whatever we want?

They are still from 20 and there are a few new attributes but most important ones are still the same. Also the database we use is not lifted from CM2 straight away there are quite a few differences.

So now that the auction round is done, how do you guys feel about doing something similar at the end of every season ? In the previous FM draft AI not doing any transfers was very frustrating and made things very stale, which is why I wanted to test the auction process to make sure we'll have at least some transfers.

He was picked by Spontenous who left the game midway and his players went back in the pool. Sorry you missed those posts, I was thinking its obvious you'll go for Seedorf.

Something like the IPL where we could retain the players we really want to keep?
 
Or just let us trade amongst ourselves. Am sure if some of us are struggling we'd naturally want to let go of some of our better players if it hasn't worked out and we'd risk player swap to improve our fortunes?

I.e. I'll swap you Zidane for Shearer and Hagi.

Tuppet could act as the mediator who regulates the trading discussions.

This would be interesting but I'd add a round of the steal/protect we use in sheep drafts from time to time.

Means that most teams should have at least 1 transfer. Put in the first come first served and a limit of say 2 steals per team (less than 10% squad total) and it should be really interesting with everyone looking forward to the transfer season.
