I'm guessing it will be mostly greatness with their performances in 94 and their age slightly tweaking the stats.
 
It's been many, many years since I've played the game. I'm more curious to see how the younger players develop and how the older players deppreciate as the game goes on.

The way Tuppet mentioned the databases earlier, it sounded like mostly based on 1995 levels. So Maradona is not his peak level.

I think you're right.

For example, let's say FM gives a rating of 20/20 for X when he's a ballon d'or at the age of 27. Maybe the software could say:

- a Ballon d'or at the age of 34: rating 16/20 even if he played 7 games in the season
- he should have been 16/20 at the age of 21 even if he played for an unknown club in Gabon

I'm not familiar with these games so I don't know if the rating of a player changes a lot over a long period of time

The games have gotten fairly complicated these days. I think a players decline is a combination of their position plus a bunch of stats together from Fitness to some of the mental stats because players do decline at different rates and some don't lose their technical and mental stats. If I remember, Totti for example could be played until 40 if you could compensate for his low pace and acceleration because his technical and mental attributes didn't decline just his speed went down massively.

Other players though seemed to decline all over their stats after a certain age

It should just be Diego in 1995 form. Will probably retain the majority of his technical stats to a decent level, but his physical ones will take a pounding, and if it's a robust database certain mental ones should crash as well.

From memory of the CM3 series, any player approaching 40 or older had physical stats at rock bottom.
