Suffering from personal reasons.

I've loaned a young CB from Spurs. He is playing as a Central Defender, every game.

Postecoglou moans at me in October that he's not playing as a central defender. Whatever. I say he is. Then just agree to play him in that role.

It's now November. Saturday 16th - 8:55am. Ange says "I am content with the number of appearances he has made as a central defender since asking you to."

Sunday 17th - 11:45pm. Ange Postecoglou wants to hold a conversation with you to discuss why the player is playing outside of the agreed role.

It's dogshit. This kind of shit is so bad. Absolute wankers that make this game honestly.

Aaand he's been recalled in January because I 'didn't adhere to the loan agreement'. Best CB gone. :/

I've had Jack Vale on loan from Blackburn and he's been great. 17 goals in 28 league games.

However for some reason the loan was set to expire on the 17th Jan. Completely random date and no idea how I didn't see that. Now he's also gone back to Blackburn to get a chance in their first team and they won't re-loan him. Lost some top players for the run-in now and it might derail my season a bit.

Signed Rayan Cherki from Lyon to play on the wing and the guy is an absolute monster. He just picks up the ball and just sprints through the opposition, and he's great a free kicks. This season he's averaging 0.87 goals per game, and 1.02 assists.

Going to download this!

Been a few years since I've played it, lets see what this version is like. I always "cheat", using Genie Scout and downloaded tactics but it's how I like to play. Will be looking to play with low ranking clubs that once won something in their country, but before that I've randomly got a boner for Motherwell in Scotland for some reason. That's where I'm heading first.

Getting hard for Motherwell. There has to be a joke in there somewhere ..

Does anyone have any issues with GK ratings tanking in games and conceding almost every shot?

It seems to happen to me occasionally, usually when I haven’t lost in a while.

Those that love the game would say it’s a tactics issue but it’s immediately resolved by withdrawing the keeper, but by then you could be 2-3 down.

It feels like a way to artificially impede progress, but I’m not sure. Anyone else noticed anything similar?

This just happened to me again, so cheap!

Winning 1-0 away to Lazio. No issues.

88th minute with no pressure being applied back line step up from a goal kick & goalkeeper [who is set to distribute to defenders] lobs it’s aimlessly into their AM who lays it on a plate for Joe fecking Willock.

It’s at times like this you feel cheated. Back line has dropped all game & surprisingly there wasn’t the full court style press being animated.

Hilarious. I picked this game up from Etsy. Super shady, but someone was selling it digitally for about four quid.

Turns out that he buys the game with a new Steam account, then gives everyone the login details. Everyone signs in, boots the game up, closes the game, then goes into 'offline' mode, and viola, everyone can use the same Steam login details to play FM24.

Happy with that. I was in the mix for the title but that dumb CB recall and my best striker inexplicably having his loan only go to 17th Jan meant I struggled in the second half of the season. Was a battle with Bolton for automatic promotion but they fell away at the end. No trophy though :(

I think I will try to leave Cambridge in the summer as their budget is atrocious and relies mainly on loans. I think I'd have a terrible time in the Championship next season with this squad.

That’s a great season!

I just finished my first with Vianese in Portugal and am also thinking I will have a terrible time after promotion.

Cambridge is a job that is actually open and I could apply to.

I have never really had a save in the history of me playing the game where I just roam around. I usually like to get settled once I am work my way up to a decent club. Would you recommend Cambridge?

I miss playing this game, but fear I would need to buy a ninja computer to play the latest version.

Yeah depends what season you’re in really. They don’t have much money but there’s some solid players there. Jack Lankester has basically dragged me over the line and been the best player. Had to be smart with good freebies and loans though as the main squad isn’t all that.

Bizarre summer so far. I didn't even get shortlisted for the Middlesbrough job but Newcastle have just invited me to interview for their vacant role without me even applying. Going to turn it down though.

I will let my contract with Cambridge expire I think. Got about 2 weeks left on it.

EDIT: Bit left field but I'm now the Hoffenheim manager.

I take back what I said about the match engine. Every single goal you concede is a player running unopposed on the side of the 6 yard box and squaring it for a tap-in.

I love how we all start with glowing reviews about features in the game and then slowly change that opinion for the worse...

Yeah seems to always be the pattern. They'll have changed some stuff that on the surface looks different and therefore good, but the more you play the more you see repetition and the lack of actual depth it has.

Promoted from the National League North at the first time of asking with Darlington, battered South Shields in the final.

Only managed to make one real signing as he took up the rest of my budget, striker Max Thompson, but he scored all the goals to take us up so can't complain.

Hoping for a mid table finish in the National League.

My Vaduz team have just secured the league title with 5 games to go and are currently unbeaten. I'm not going to complain about anything :wenger:

I remember when I used to have time to play FM. Them were the days. Enjoy them kids.

Currently sat top after 12 games. Signed Tai Sodje on a free transfer after his contract with City expired and he's currently got the highest average rating in the league of 7.99.

Can't imagine he'll stick with Darlo for long but should make a very nice profit on him.

Or dribbling through the heart of your defense with half of your team refusing to tackle him. Or some incredible long distance shot from a player with a finishing grade of 8. In the mean time your players can't score tap-ins to save their lives, since all your shots are somehow deflected or widely off target.

Yeah I’ve seen the classic ‘you hit the post/bar 5 times and the keeper has a worldie whilst your defence just part like the Red Sea’ game a few too many times already. Still feels like when the game decides you’re losing you can’t do anything about it.

I still believe this, and it manifests in my games with keeper playing a 6.0 and every shot going in.

Just lost 4-2 and had to take my keeper off at 3-1 on a 6.0.

Finish game with about 1.5Xg to out 2.6Xg. There definitely feels like there is a script to keep things interesting, but people don’t like to hear it.

Yep. I also seem to concede long range goals a lot. I stopped playing after I won the league but kept around 4 clean sheets all season

The worst part for me, is that I consistently have one of the best defense in the league but out of nowhere I concede 5 ridiculous goals in a game or in 5 straight games. In one of those games my defender took the ball away from my goalkeeper and decided to clear it to the opposite side of within the box(he had to turn around to do it), straight to an opponent.

I’m sure it’s just the animations but I’ve had it multiple times where one of my players has the ball but just stands there and does nothing as he’s closed down, robbed of the ball and then the opposition score. There was another time when my left back ran away without the ball.

I have seen that a lot. But a new one for me is players running away from a pass, I don't remember seeing this in fm22 and I didn't play fm23 but it happened to my teams multiple time especially on long passes in the middle. An other one is a player doing a Fellaini and running straight out of bound for no reason.

I got bored and started a save with Forfar in Scottish League 2. Won the league and started applying for other jobs. Randomly got the Livingston job in the Scottish Prem. Just going to jump around when I get bored.

They've changed the fecking rules!

I finished in 1st place but 2nd placed "won" the league. It seems that because we're not a Swiss club we can't actually win the league. Total BS.

Ah, the old FC Vaduz problem? That's a tough one. Ran in to that about 10 years ago.

Dunno if it's still the case, but they also couldn't qualify for the CL through the Swiss league either, only for the Europa through the Liechtenstein Cup - so to get to the CL you had to win that, then win the Europa the next season. Come to think of it, that cup might only get them into the Conference League now...

So, I've tried to destroy City financially using the ingame editor and looks like it's just not possible. Changed their finances to -1bn, removed all their sponsors, removed all their affliates, bank debts of 1bn where the monthly payments are close to 25m/month but they still qualify for CL easily. Game just gives them 300m-400m from some 'reserve investment fund' every time I try to put their finances in the negative.

Ofcourse, United on the other hand, gets relegated due to poor morale though. Fecking assholes.

Edit : Forgot to mention, I've also removed their sugar daddy owners and put that option as none.

Yeah, you basically get a free pass into the Conference League but have to win that and the Europa back to back to get to the CL.

Tried it in '22 and I think I lost in either the CL semi or final before leaving it after my squad got torn apart in the summer transfer window.
In 22 it did allow me to win the league even if it didn't mean much, maybe it was incorrectly allowing that.

I think it takes a couple seasons to really have an effect as they take out loans and keep most of their best players.

Transfer all their players abroad.

Yea, the first season I did this, they got a 14 point penalty for going into administration but then they still easily qualified for Europa. And now it's the 3rd season of me doing it and like you said, they keep taking out bank loans or randomly getting huge chunks of money from that reserve investment fund.

Transfer all their players abroad.

I wanted it to happen in a way that the game sells them but looks like I have to do it myself.

There have been a couple of times where the game transfer listed all their players due to perilous financial position but then they get those sweet investments and all is good.

The only players they've sold is Haaland and Xavi Simons. They still have Foden, Pino, Shaqueel van Persie(who has been insane in this save game) and a 190CA newgen CB who they just won't sell, are still 4th in the league and this is the 3rd season of me doing this shit.

Just went 3-0 down after 14 minutes to Hearts. Came back and won 5-4.
