Gaming Football Manager 2024

I bought it now. Seen a couple of simple bugs in the pre game editor that I find irritating but a third party editor has been able to fix it. For some bizarre reason, especially with women's teams being entered next year, the editor doesn't allow you to create female staff members :confused: Even though Emma Hayes is in the game. I assume that will remain a bug until FM25.

Haven't got round to play anything yet though, but thinking of a dual save with Boca Juniors and a J League side. I want to stay away from Europe for awhile.

Team talks and press conference I can’t comment on because I just don’t do them. I don’t experience much interaction logic either as I just tend to ignore that part of the game.

Was considering getting this year's after skipping the last 3 or 4, but thought I'd get the mobile app to see if the urge remains after a few days playing it there (last time I bought FM I did about 10 hours and got bored). But it seems you need a Netflix account to play? What's that all about
 
I don't even know how that would work out....intrigued.

Anyway, unsurprisingly I'm top in Argentina with a 12-1-1 record, but in those 14 games I've conceded 21 goals. That seems really off. I'm not even going all out attack, I'm more cautious than usual as this is my test save
 
Well this is doing my head in. I signed Koopmeiners, and a promise was made to play him in his preferred position as a Midfield (Centre) in a deep lying playmaker role in at least half of the available fixtures during the promise period.

I am playing him in his preferred role yet he's extremely concerned I won't fulfil my promise?! He's a regular starter too. I've included a link to a Screenshot below. Is it because I have him as a defensive midfielder rather than simply a midfielder who happens to be deep lying? Surely that's what a defensive midfielder is? And to add to the confusion, prior to kick off, he always has the comment that he's happy I'm playing him in his preferred role. This game is broken in these types of things.

I assume you said CM rather than DM and despite him being a DLP that will likely be the issue and yes, it's stupid.

Well he wants Midfield (Centre) in a deep lying playmaker role . Is that not what I have him doing? I'm not sure I fully understand your post
 
Oh hang on, so I've just moved him slightly forward but kept the DLP trait. Maybe now he'll be happy. Ridiculous

No. He's in the DM slots in your original screenshot.

There is the DM, CM and AM slots in the tactic screen.
 
So is it the case where the team are never fully happy with your general training? Some players telling me that they believe its responsible for the team's dip in form. I've hired as many coaches as I can with great stats including having the board add an extra 2. Have tried to spread training responsibility as best I can across all the coaches given their specific skills.(att tech, att tac, def tech, def tac etc)

Second in the league to the scousers who will likely go on to win the league. Won the Carbaro Cup, am into the final of the FA Cup, and Semi Finals of Champions League.
 
Something very strange is happening with AI squad selection. Barcelona just rocked up to San Sebastian to face my Sociedad side with a team full of kids and B-team players for absolutely no discernible reason:

They had Ter Stegen, De Jong, Torres, Fati, Pedri, Gavi, Balde and Lukaku (lol) fit and ready to play:

It's a normal league game. The title race is on (they were 1 point behind Real before the match). There is no fixture congestion (international break immediately after this game):

Why have they chucked the game? What the feck is going on?

Nuts. I had an instance during one of my last matches where the ball was played back to my centre back who was standing next to my other centre back. The ball just stayed there between them, neither of them moving. Then their onrushing forward simply ran in, took the ball and scored. The commentary didn't even make mention of what appeared to be a total breakdown of communication at the back so it was likely a bug.

Please report this as a bug on the Sports Interactive forums if you haven't done so already.

Helps improve the game later in its life cycle.
 
I won the Copa Libatadoras with Boca, had to make a comeback in the semi final after losing the first leg 1-0 Botofogo. Didn’t expect to win it due to Brazilian teams being much stronger.

I haven’t made any signings due to poor finances and the schedule is tough. You play a game every 3 days and the format is strange.

28 teams in the league, you play them once before what seems to be a random split into two groups which gets renamed to the league cup.

Then the points you win in those groups will total up to the overall league table and the top 4 from each group qualify for the quarter finals of the league cup too..

I don’t understand it but I’m in the semi final of that, the final of the Argentine cup and I won the Copa Libatadoras and the first half of the league.

The squad is dead due to the amount of games. 37 year old Cavani has been injured almost every other game but he’s also my top scorer by a comfortable margin.

I also have no money despite all of this and I’m being criticised for not signing any Colombian players. Argentine players aren’t enough it seems

That sounds pretty shit. I wish I had the patience to play a crappy, super low league team to the extent of rising the entire club to the pinnacle of world glory. Too many things just get in the way. Always end up hitting a road block that stops me in my tracks.

Was feeling cautiously optimistic about Como's chances in Serie A after drawing the first two games (one away to Atalanta!)

Then Roma just smacked us off the park 5-0 :(

Desperately need some zero contribution loans on deadline day as this board has given me feck all!
 
Ok so I don't know what happens in 2039 and 2040 and I'm not fully sure if it affected other teams as well, but last two intakes I've got two absolutely broken teenagers, it's such a sharp jump in mental stats compared to what I am used to that I wonder if this is not a bug of any sort

First season with Fiorentina and we came 3rd. The Pep Inter machine was far too strong and Napoli are a bit ridiculous in the game too. They seem to overperform xG way too much - they are 20 goals better off this season for example than xG suggests which is helping them to keep up with me in the league. I'm a point ahead with 28 games gone.
 
Started this on my phone as it's free with a Netflix account. I have a front 5 of Bruno, Joao Neves, Rashford, Garnacho and Greenwood ( :nervous: ) and they are all really good stats wise, but I rarely score more than 2 goals. I'm top after 30 games, but that's due to the fact that I've only conceded 5 goals in those games (won 24, drawn 5 lost 1). I've left all my front 3 instructions blank, do I need to tweak them? And if so, what works best?
 
Oh yeah, I forgot Juventus beat me 1-0 with a goal by...Greenwood. So i had a rage moment after the game and deleted him. cnut.

Feel like when I actually start a long term save I'm gonna remove him from the game and stick City in League Two with a ten year transfer ban.
 
Bought this the other week on steam but it won't stop crashing on me. Sometimes it'll crash instantly, during booting, sometimes it'll crash after a 1 or 2 days in game time, then once it crashed mid pre-season and brought me back weeks. I thought it might be the logos pack but I removed that and it still crashed. Completely deflated my want to play it, longest it went without crashing I had just sorted all my coaches out and it crashed and went back to default. Might try it again during Christmas, no idea what's causing it, never had the issue before, maybe its because I'm on an AMD card now instead of Nvidia.
 
Anyone else find it a bit too easy? I’ve just won 2 consecutive Champions Leagues, and a treble in my 4th season on mobile, got a feck load of players worth £100m+ for nowt as well.

What a silly game. It went down to the final game of the season. For some reason in Serie A we don't all play on the same day. I went first and won the game and got the title celebration. Nice one. Next day Napoli win and finish level on points with me so it goes to a playoff despite watching us celebrate the Serie A title.

I win the first playoff game 6-0 which I'm bloody thankful for because they schedule the next playoff game when the international break begins so i'm missing half of my squad. Daft.

Playing with United is always easy mode
 
The ball in the ME seems to be a bit big. But not a complaint just can look weird now and then.

Second season with boca is another slugfest, pre season break lasted 3 days before we were back into training for a couple of super cup games. Players are dead on their feet and picking up injuries.

Cavani left for Fulham. I managed to nab Marcos Leonardo even though Bayern had made a bid. Didn’t think it was worth spending my whole budget (14m) on him but so far he has 15 goals in 11 games and is clearly far too good for the league. Top of the table and unbeaten, still conceding second half goals almost every game despite several tweaks to my tactic
 
Time for a new save. Bit bored of that one so gone to do my annual National League South to PL journey. Actually trying out a new formation too. St Albans have no wingers and loads of defenders so a 5-2-1-2 it is. Lets scum the hell out of it.

I find it too easy. I started with United as I hadn't played the mobile version so I disabled transfers in the first season to make it realistic.

I played a 4-2-3-1 with the below team and positions etc.

GK- Onana - GK
RB- AWB- WB
CB - Varane - CB
CB - Martinez - BPD
LB - Shaw - WB

DM - Casmeiro - BWM
CM - Mainoo/Hannibal - RP
CM - Bruno - AP

RW - Antony/Amad - IF
LW - Garnacho/Rashford - IF

ST - Hojlund - P

I had it set to Overload, wide, fast, balanced.

High defensive line, press all over, yes to offside trap but no time wasting.

Look for overlap, shoot in sight and run at defence. Passing mixed and short GK distribution.

With these tactics I won the PL in my first season.

The following summer I signed Frimpong Vermeeren, Jacob Ramon, Todibo, Luis Guilherme, Scarles, Halseth Nypan and promoted Vitek, Lacey and Hansen-Aaroen. I cant remember who I sold.
 
Anybody else feel like there's more keeper errors, keeper injuries and disallowed goals this year? Especially the first. Maybe it's because I'm a journeyman and currently playing in Croatia where the level isn't the highest, but my god these keepers couldn't keep a clean sheet to save their life. My starting GK even smacked two in his own net and sometimes doesn't even react when he's in the best possible position to save it.

Noticed this. Happens quite a lot for me. Like literally every season my first choice GK gets injured for 2-3 months(a bit exaggerated but you get my point). One time I had both my GKs injured at the same time for 3 months and I had to promote a 3 grey starred GK from the youth team for that period.

They literally forced me from never having a substitute keeper on bench to always having one. :lol:

Not the grey ones! :lol: I had a keeper on loan from Hajduk Split since the rules of the 2nd division state I needed to play three U21 players in the first half of each match. After promoting those rules didn't apply anymore, so I bought a new GK. After about 10 games Hajduk brought their loanee back because I didn't play him and two days after that my new GK gets injured for 4 months. Had to play with an absolute idiot on goal for that period. After 4 months my GK comes back, I play him when he's fully healthy and lo and behold this guy gets injured again for 3 months. It's driving me insane :lol:
 
Usually when I click auto line up, the AI managed to pick a team I can field. In this version they’ve picked ineligible players repeatedly.

Not a huge gripe as I use it to avoid manually doing it myself after rotating for a cup game

Yea, I feel like they need to tone it down a notch. GK injuries are still far too frequent. Also the injuries are always broken wrists or broken fingers from catching the balls.
