Gaming Football Manager 2016

Is there anything you can do with players that are getting booked almost every match? Schneiderlin, Rojo CBJ, Blind and Darmian get booked almost every game they play for me. Schneiderlin has missed 8 games through suspension already this season. CBJ has missed 4.

CBJ was both shocked to be fined for his last double yellow card fiasco(his second such incident, he already had an official warning) and then said I was being harsh when I warned the silly prick about his conduct. I might demote him back to the under 21's for refusing to accept he's a twat.

Garry Monk has just taken over as United boss on my save

Sherwood is City boss in mine!!!

And Mourinho will be United boss on the next one :drool:

Well for like two weeks anyway. Then he will be sacked so I can take over.
In my save, Mou rejected United to stay with Chelsea. Roger Schmidt became our manager

My proudest moment as Bournmouth manager so far :D

Andreas Pereira and Rashford combining to sink United at Old Trafford

Also one from yesterday at the end of the season I forgot to upload

What instructions are you on?

Close down more and no instruction for actual tackling. I don't think any of the others really affect tackling.

Schneiderlin got himself sent off in the final league match two bookings in 5 minutes. Then he's shocked to get a 2 week fine and a talking to about his conduct. Four times we have played Arsenal and now he's suspended all 4 times as he will miss the FA Cup final. Idiot.

We finished second in first season. Not bad considering how many players were bedding in and the marque signing Griezman was a massive flop. We bottled it in the last few weeks though because of fixture congestion. 4 games in 9 days was way too much. Pogba and Sule already signed for next season and working on getting in Fabinho. Jones, Greizman, Romero, Valdes and Carrick are all being shipped out. Possibly alongside Valencia, Rojo and Januzaj.

Hard to tell mate. It could be a number of things. I usually find that my defensive errors/fouls go down significantly if I hire defensive coaches who specialise in the same formation that I employ and who have "Mixed" ability. Also is Schneiderlin a ball winning or box to box for you? I had the same problems with Coquelin and Kramer on my current Arsenal save; playing them as BWMs ramped up their foul count but it went down drastically when on B2B.

 True but the few games I've had to put Dier in for a shift in midfield due to injuries, he was brilliant as BWM.
It's one of my favourite roles, just saying that you have to expect some amount of cards.

I always like Marcelo Meli as a BWM(s) beside a more attacking CM and in front of a holding mid. Will kick the shit out of oppos, along with getting goals and assists.

Do you set tackling to harder for them? Also I am curious as to what team instructions you play BWMs with. I usually adjust my Closing Down and Defensive Line according to the opposition I play.

There's no need they already close down and tackle more, tbh I don't really bother with setting the team to close down more unless I'm chasing the game. I like telling the team to get stuck in though, if it's a lenient ref, may as well take the opportunity.

Schneiderlin is set to play as a defensive midfielder. I play one DM in front of my defence then a DLP in front of that set to support. Works quite well except for all the bookings. I think he might just be a dirty bastard as Blind doesn't have nearly as many issues when he deputises for him. Dunno what the issue with the fullbacks is.

Just signed Fabinho for £24m to give me an attacking FB on the right and adds to the height in the squad with Pogba and Sule coming in too. Sold Greizman to Spurs for £40m, taking a £16m hit on him but it gets his wages off my bill and he was next to useless. Had bids accepted for Felipe Anderson and Malcolm to come in and replace him. Dunno which I'll go for in the end as Malcolm is younger, cheaper, less wages and higher ceiling but he plays as an out and out winger and scouts reckon he will struggle to settle. Anderson is a pro with a lot of flair which we really need and will be a good tutor to younger players soon enough, he plays as an inside forward which suits me alot more too but he wants triple the wages Malcolm does. Decisions, decisions.

Laporte handed in a transfer request at Bilbao, has a £35.5m release clause. I wasn't going to bother but Liverpool met the clause and I wasn't for having that. So I met it too. The bitch wants £10.5m signing on fee and £240k a week along with massive bonuses. For a player that's requested to leave his current club and his other option is a team in the UEFA Cup. Greedy bitch.

Y'all should really try out the mobile version of FM. It's such a lovely fast-paced game which you can pick up easily wherever you are, on the toilet, while commuting etc. Also enough depth (tactics/formations etc) to maintain a significant managerial influence on your team. I only play the mobile version these days.

Anyone ever had a transfer window that got a bit out of hand? After last seasons problems of basically having to bed in a whole new team I decided I was signing 4 first team/rotation players maximum. Pogba, Sule, Fabinho and Felipe Anderson all arrived and I thought I was done. It turns out I was not. The Laporte fiasco ended with him going to Liverpool, so in a bizarre case of feck you right in the eye Liverpool I signed Stones before someone else nabbed him. That's me done! No...

Juve bid £44m for Herrera and I think he's a backup player turning 27 and I won't get that money again... off he goes. A replacement is required! Renato Sanches fee was agreed but his agent was being a prick demanding massive wages and signing on fee. Negotiations broke down. Real Madrid bid for Schneiderlin, I said no, he said yes, I said shut up you div. They came back in for him and bid £54m and I said take him. Which left me panicked for midfielders as I had no holding midfielder other than Blind and a kid in the under 18s, Schwiensteiger at a push. So the hunt began to rebuild my midfield. Kramer, Goretzka, Kranneviter, Renato Sanches and that young Porto midfielder who's name I can't recall were all considered. Kramer and the Porto lad being my first choices. Ended up activating Goretzka and Kranneviter's release clauses. £47m and £33m.

I went from just wanting to add 4 first team/squad players to signing 7 of them and spending over £280m. I recouped around £168m though and my wage bill is actually smaller. Gonna be a bollocks getting them integrated.

That's not including the youth team and under 21 players I signed for the future and one's I brought back from loan. It's going to be a clusterfeck for the first few months. I've added a lot of height and power though so we should actually be a threat from corners now.

I've got my director of football set to offer for first team players who I can then veto in the hope he finds a gem I might have overlooked.

But man, its so easy to see why AI clubs buy such rubbish. Even with 20/20 JPA/JPP he bids £20m plus on some really average players.

Mine's exactly the same. I look at my squad, and I can see clear as day that I need a striker. Next thing I get an e-mail saying that the DOF has bid £29m on a right-back with a two star potential rating just in case the three right-backs I have better than this one suddenly explode.

The DOF's are feckin' useless.

Only success I've ever seen in any FM was when I was at Roma, and my DOF bid 500k on some 17 year old CB at AC Milan, they bit, I accepted. Later on I had an injury crisis, had to play the kid, and his attributes skyrocketed. Turned into a worldie.

The amount of money in this game is just obscene. In the January window of 2021 I got multiple offers in the £40-65 million region for Bernardo Silva, Breel Embolo, Memphis, Dybala and two regen first teamers. It was just pouring in every day from Arsenal, Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern. Pure desperation from them, with buyback clauses and sell-on percentages and the whole works. And after rejecting them all I still get a £375m warchest to blast the next summer.

And it's not because I'm United and the Adidas and Chevrolet kit deals are ridiculous. Everyone is going mental with their spending. Average players are going for top dollar and a shit Sterling and an old Otamendi are both raking in more than £300,000 every week. Even Newcastle are paying close to £200,000 a week for their best players. Adnan Januzaj has probably broken Di Maria's combined transfer fee record by now after switching from Schalke to Bayern to Arsenal for more than £50 million each time.

I guess they've made it more realistic than ever. I don't know.

Do the same tactics work for FM Mobile 2016 or is it just totally different?

Started a unemployed save and applied for jobs in Central America. I really want to take over as coach as Olimpia Tegucigalpa.

I don't have much reputation yet, and had to settle for C.D. Federal Tegucigalpa for now. A team that would make the Etihad look full, by averaging 250 passionate supporters in their 35,000 capacity stadium.

After a first look at my squad I have a feeling I'll be in for a frustrating season. Look at the column for personality.

Edit: 4 games in, and I'm absolutely acing the league. After 21 yellow cards, 2 red cards, and 2 penalties given away. This sorry bunch has lost 1-3, 1-3, 0-3, and 1-3. The same cnut has scored an own goal twice, including the last game where I actually had the lead.

One of my two good players that had yet to play due to injury returned, and showed me a new meaning of useless by having a 0% cross completion rate in a game where I asked the team to use the flanks. Currently dead last in the league, and happy to know there is no relegation as this is the lowest tier of Honduran football.

My dreams of glory are rotting away one yellow card after the other.

Edit 2: Things have improved a little bit. Even won a game. I don't think the fans expect much. I just drew 2-2 against the second worst team in the league, and the fans were jubilant.

Edit 3:

Second half of the Honduran season went a lot better as the team finally learned the tactics, and I got to give them a lot of defensive training sessions.

Since I didn't make the promotion playoffs, I'll have plenty of time to find me a player or two for next season. Team has some potential, so if I can find a decent striker, I think I should be able to aim for 3rd at the very least, but probably even 2nd.

It becomes ridiculously easy with big clubs is the only issue. My United save is up to 2029 and ive won the league like 9 seasons in a row, CL 7 out of the last 8, the last season and a half I've been unbeaten. I kinda want to see how many seasons there are before it ends, I've heard 30. I also rarely have a bad signing, if you just buy kids who are worth the most they inevitably become amazing. Barbosa and Goretzka were legends for me.

But yeah it's easy to fly through seasons.

3rd season at Bournmouth. Statred horribly and find myself on 11 points after 15 games. Definately in a relegation scrap here after two season of staying up comfortably.

Have they patched freekicks or something? I'm in February of my second season and I've seen my team shoot from freekicks twice in all that time. Annoying since Gribbin's freekick taking is 18 and he lines them up then just passes it to someone else.

I just rage quit. Lukaku 13 goals in 13 games. Gets injured for 3 months, fair enough. Comes back and gets injured for 4 months the next day after I loaned out all my youth team strikers and the window closed.
