Gaming Football Manager 2016

Sounds fun @Burrow.

I'm thinking about starting a new save myself, unemployed, all leagues, no badges and sunday-league footballer, annoying thing will be that your attributes for Determination, Motivating etc. are low as feck because of sunday-league and you can't better them, right? Putting me off a little, but it would be a new challenge.

Oh yeah! The poor leaders at Pune FC in India gave me my first interview in this save, and by golly did I impress them. They offered me the job, and I have to be honest; I kind of wanted away from Zambia (dont tell anybody though).

Maybe I'll be so lucky to even gain a coaching badge or so. This journeyman thing is really fun, simply due to no expectation of ever getting anywhere!

I'm not sure.. I've gained 1 or 2 points in motivation after a year or so. And determination is basically worth nothing anyways in the game (as a manager).

Okay Determination only helps with getting your will vs. the board, but surely Motivating, Man Management and Level of Discipline are important. I guess yours rised as you did your badges?

Nah, I've only managed national teams so far which means I couldnt get any badges. I started at the second lowest badge (I think) and sunday league experience, so I guess the motivation stat is affected by how you handle team meetings, team talks etc?

Interesting, will give it a try then. Tanks.

I'm from India so you better get Pune FC the CL trophy, World Cup, Olympic gold and the Club world cup.

This sack of shit? Pff.

I realise I might've been a bit cocky in my interview where I claimed that the relegation battle would be the least of the clubs worries. I never checked the club before the interview, and the club is dead last by 7 points. With 5 matches to go. 4 of those are away. Against the top 4.

Feck me.

Edit: Just had a look, and the club actually did not register a single win before I got there. Not even a clean sheet. Wow.

Your save keeps getting better :p. This sounds like a lot of fun btw, I'm definitely doing this soon.

How on earth does all this shit sound fun.....

It's a blast, actually! It's just a complete clusterfeck compared to managing United and dominating for 20+ years. It's really cool to be really desperate for any job, just to earn some coaching badges and to improve my reputation!

Aye. I barely manage 2yrs at Utd on every FM. Even this year, I resigned after the 2nd yr to take over a Milan side that's completely fecked. Not even in Europa when I joined.

I'm going to start a new save with what you're doing after this season at Milan. Going to keep that save to manage in Spain and Germany as well. Doubt I'll be coming back to it though once I start the other one :D

Those are the kind of saves I play. Can always find new challenges - small and big to get into. It's a lot more fun than starting at big clubs or even tier 2 sides like Spurs where the infrastructure is already in place to have quick success.

Hells yeah! I beat the 4th placed team, and for some reason survived relegation? I'm second to last with 3 games to go, so not quite sure how they worked that out

More or less my entire team is on contracts that are expiring at the end of the season, and the club is more or less bankrupt though. I even had to do some heavy convincing for the club to let me get a coaching badge, as they were afraid that I might join a bigger club

They are so god damn right.

@Burrow I am tempted to put my main save on hold and start this after work tonight. Tell me something. If I load up all the nations, won't the game take a ridiculous amount of time to move forward as it simulates every league in every country?

Yeah, I will imagine it would. Depends on your computer though.

I basically loaded up the most bizzarre and fun leagues I could imagine being in (not England, Italy, France etc). I figure I'll just remove a league I've managed in after I'm done there (i.e remove the Indian league if I get a job away from Pune)

How many stars did it show in the computer performance rating? Do you remember? I'll try this out tonight

Soo.. Finished 9th in my first season at Pune FC, managing the team for 7 games. The team was dead last without a win before I got there, and I ended the season with 3W 2D 2L, which I'm pretty satisfied with. The gap in quality between the better teams and the others are huge, though I'm happy with the squad I've put together in my first transfer window.

The rule in India is to have atleast five U23-players in the squad, and maximum of 3 foreign players (non Asians) and 4 foreign in total. The club also drained itself by having wages way above their wage budget, so I basically refused to renew any contracts to even it up.

My first transferwindow looks like this:

20 players out
1 DoF out
1 Head of Youth Development out
2 coaches cut
1 chief scout out

The staff was on higher wages than the players, which was kind of silly.

I brought in 3 players, all free transfers and all Indian / Indian-Canadian. For some reason, there are tons of Indian-Canadians in the Canadian league, which qualifies as "home grown". Or atleast they dont count as foreigners.

I'm still above my wage budget though, and it's a pain to offload any of my players.

Still, looking forward to gaining my coaching badge, and having a real go in the Indian league.

Dont do it, it's fecking infuriating.

My fecking Assistant was put in charge of arranging friendlies, and now pre-season is over and we've played exactly 0 games. I was under the impression that Indians were smart and professional. Not this fecking guy.

WHAT THE feck.

My team was perfectly decent going into the season, and now (I guess Phil Jones made a guest appearance at our training?) I got 6 players on long term injuries in the space of three fecking days. No games either, just fecking training injuries.

I need to get out of India for my own real life health.

Just hopped on after not playing in months and seen that SI hasn't updated transfers so I still have Januzaj at Dortmund and Valdes at United.

Whos transfer update do you guys recommend? Pr0 or LFCMarshall? Or anyone else?

Just wanted to point out the "detail level" setting. It's under the menu with the FM logo in-game. You can set the detail level of the games that are simulated. It usually has only the later stages of big competitions simulating with all details, so it won't make a huge difference, but it can speed up the game some, if you get rid of match details in some extra competitions.

Excellent, thanks a lot. Will change it tonight.

Stranger fixture schedule. Played in the Club World cup semi final on December 18th in the UAE. Played a Serie A game on the 23rd, and the final of the CWC is January 2nd with a league game on the 4th. :wenger:

Won the Champions League last season somehow, but still haven't come close to winning the Scudetto. Maybe this season as I'm top by 2 points, 2 games in hand and still unbeaten.

Just started the unemployed, no badges, no footballing background save. Offered an interview at Cambridge which I rejected because well, England is boring. Gave 2 interviews at clubs in the Belgian 3rd div

Go Manage Indian National Team dude, and help them win the WC. That would be the ultimate challenge. :p

That's nowt, had a save where I was managing the USA alongside a club side, CWC final in Tokyo, and two hours later had a USA game in Denver. Won both. :D

WW Hamme have appointed Varun as their new manager. The cnuts at Rupel Boom who turned me down will be made to pay

God damn Pune. As I arranged the friendlies myself, as my asshole assistant refused to, I've gotten 6 new injuries. Making the total 14 injuries in a week and a half of pre-season.

Now I'm in some sort of pre-season cup, against two sides who are a league below me. Dont make any mistake to think that I would dominate though, as I ended the group at the very bottom. After two games, it's mid-season break for some reason? Damn India...

I gained my badge though, and immidiately set myself on the hunt for next badge. In four month, I'll try to get out of India. Sorry Varun, I cant put up with this shite..

Ok great, now my assistant figured he should schedule friendlies.

He arranges four (FOUR) friendlies against my U21-team, and noone else. What the god damn actual feck.

How on Earth do I reapply for someone's work permit??

Could you help me identify the attribute regarding player's recovery match after match.Like some players take longer time to get fit after a match for next match. eg. Laporte- He even has good stamina

Can't blame you. Your assistant in particular looks like someone who couldn't walk straight without bumping into walls.

@Burrow I got the jobs in the 3rd div at Belgium. Much better than shite at India I reckon. Try jobs there.

Meh, I'm gonna wait a while with the jobs in Europe if I can help it. I just feel like the path from a lower league European job is just a step away from managing the bigger teams

I embraced the shiteness of Pune FC though, and the fact that we're not able to sign anyone due to the club being bankrupt. I implemented a counter attacking style, and I'm now undefeated in 6 games! My star player is a 35 year old Korean-dude who is trying to retire, but I keep telling him otherwise :D

For some reason, the club is not producing any youngsters though, so my U18 team is literally empty. No wait, there is one guy there which my coaches keeps reporting on. I think they are handing me like 3 reports on the same dude every single day. Guess they need to something to do as well...
