He's a wonderkid in your game? Got lucky with the DB, he's good in my save but far from wonderkid levels.
He's still listed as one in mine.
I noticed yesterday that Martial, despite being 21 years old, is now rated just 2.5 stars in my team. I did sign Pogba so that may be part of it.
Martial's an odd one, the scouts often rate him quite lowly, he can be one of the best players in the game and grow to Pogba levels.
When you're watching a player report you can view his star ratings compared to different positions on the pitch. Martial's star rating should not be changed much since he doesn't play in the same position as Pogba.

Also sometimes the default position shown in your scout report is not the same as the one you actually play him in.
The star ratings don't go by position though, the comparison by positions is just to see who's highest rated in each position.

If you have a few players the likes of Pogba or Messi, there aren't many players going to hit 3 stars, never mind 4 or 5.

My players are taking the piss. Big match vs title contenders Spurs and it's my CB Stones dribbling past 4 players in the opponent box to set up a goal for Kane

He did the same with me. He's now 24 and rated 4 stars. For the last two seasons he's score a goal a game. He actually has 19 in 17 this season so far.

It's a bit too mental to spend £42m on an 18 year old winger that you're planning on turning into a very attacking rightback to be Rafael's long term replacement isn't it? He's got everything I need in a full back, except his positioning is shit, it's a 6 and obviously he's a winger. He has great crossing and pace with decent tackling though.

You're right. For some reason I've been thinking they're different ratings.

Unrelated: those of you that have played 5 years + do you find it almost impossible to buy top players without paying £40-100m? I guess it's the future of football.

I got bored and swapped Memphis + 60mil for Neymar.

How is Neymar?

In my Dortmund save, my scouts saying he'd be a good addition but his wages may not be worth it.
But despite being top of the league and unbeaten my board are disappointed with my transfers and want a big name signing

I'm toying between Neymar & Griezmann

I've had Neymar for half a season, he's had flashes of brilliance but hasn't been consistent enough to be worth the money. Might just be taking him a while to settle.

He took a while to settle for me. Signed him in Jan 2021, and he scored 6 goals in 15 games. First full season was 11 in 28. This current season he's got 33 goals and 20 assists in 57 games.

Edit: Just gone off injured. I hope you're proud of yourself

Just made his debut off the bench and scored a worldie from the edge of the box. Onwards and upwards hopefully. He's on 325k a week, fair value imo.

I've made my mark on United by lifting the 12th consecutive PL-title in a stadium named after me :D It's good to be king..

Back to Neymar. Im debating whether to sign him in my 3rd season. I really don't need to as i have bernardo silva, Januzaj and Memphis plus a host of other wide options. I am tempted though.

 Oops.

I just got to January and his form has picked up. He's getting a goal or assist every game with ratings of 8 and 9 for the last 5 games or so.

Bernardo Silva's form has really dipped this season though. If that happens Martial I'm screwed.

Julian Brandt for 16m, freaking ridiculous deal for a top winger.

Spent all of 14/15 with teams at the top/nearly the top with the likes of United/Roma/Athletico/Arsenal/Bayern so wanted to try something else on this year so decided to have my first save with Middlesbrough in the Championship to try and get them promoted and into a safe Premiership team. They've got a great squad for the league but on my first attempt after 13 games in it's a total shambles so going to restart the save.

Anyone have any tips for playing with Middlesbrough and/or general Championship management tips?

Bring in a good chunk of loans, carry a large squad. Heavy rotation so all your players are always near peak fitness/condition every game. You'll smash teams that are playing mostly the same guys 2-3 times a week.

Jaysus, when you consider what I've spent on some young players. Gerson was £41m, Vallejo was £44m, Stones was £41m. Then again I got Jorge for £8m, Cubas for £10m, Embolo for £12m, and Tielemans for £14m. So I guess it evens out.

In my fourth season now though and most of them are already world beaters. I'm pretty much unstoppable. Especially with Pogba in midfield. Give him the ability to shoot often and he just smacks them in from 30 yards constantly.

I need a new challenge.

Been feeling exactly the same. I went on holiday for a whole season (my 3rd season) and i finished top of the league by about 20 points and I came back in time for the fa cup final. Didn't get past the 1/4s of the champions league though so at least thats something i can win this season.

Im tempted to take a championship side on for a season or two but then would lose the 3 seasons worth of squad building. I have the same team as you pretty much aswell. Maybe ill just save my game, take a job somewhere else and save it as a new file and then play two careers, but that's abit boring aswell.

@Cina @iammemphis Just resign and move to another club, Germany especially is good fun. I am in my 2nd season at Utd and it's boring as hell, the team doesn't even need you to win.

The team does need me, alright. Don't try and tell me all my hard work over these few seasons mean NOTHING! :(

In all seriousness, think ill sell a few players for nothing to Watford who just got relegated from the prem, take them over and then get them into the prem, haha. I want to bring a few players with me!

Loving my Burton Albion save which i'm running along my Bayern save. The german league is so easy and boring and i'm thinking of resigning and carrying on with the Burton one. Top of the championship with Burton, level on points with West Ham and I have James Wilson on loan who is a goal machine. The league 1 standard players I have are doing very well but the squad needs major surgery if I was to survive in the PL

Leverkusen refuse to even discuss terms on my save. 2nd season.
He had been bought be Dortmund before this, for 10m......

I know, usually I expect to pay a tonne. I hadn't even a plan for him, as I normally play with wingers at ML and MR, but an agent message popped up "...thinks his client may be available for 16m..." Like hell I'm not doing that!

Kinda weird though, my other best winger is a right footed regen, so I want to play him on the right and Brandt on the left as a WM(a) with the role tweaked to be like an inside forward, but my other two wide men are left footed wingers, so I have to have a different setup when I squad rotate.

Took over as watford, had to resign from my post after the United board refused to discuss compensation with them. First thing that happened was every player wanted a private chat to tell me they want to leave now Watford have been relegated. Good times!

Any good championship players people can recommend? So far I've only spent money on young 17/18 year olds with potential.

Haven't played a CM/FM game properly in years but treated myself to this over Christmas and got into it. Just finished my first season with United, which went OK. Blew most of my transfer budget on Stones before the season kicked off but did manage to flog Fellaini to PSG for 17 million so that worked out well. Last I heard Ligue 1 wasn't exactly shaking beneath the shadow of his 'fro. Aside from that I pretty much went with the team I had.

First half of the season went well - Martial was raw but scoring at a rate of just worse than one in two and Memphis was destroying teams from an inside forward position on the left. Those two were really powering my good form and aside from a couple of silly losses to shit teams we looked good. Rooney picked up a three month injury at one point so, in a stroke of genius, I went out and picked up Michu on a free. In he came, the wee little Spanish magician, to serve as backup and although stats of 1 goal and 1 assist in 10 games don't look great he goes down as a fans favourite, in a Henrik Larsson style, for the short time he spent at the club. What the stats don't tell you is that most of his games were off the bench. Or that his one goal was a 35 yard lob at Anfield to win the game. Legend.

3 months before the end of the season, though, disaster strikes and Martial and Memphis decide to have a leg kicking contest or something and both end up breaking legs within a week of each other. After that we're slow, sluggish, and limp to 4th place. Chelsea ran away with it. It wasn't all shit though, we made the CL semis due, I can only assume, to Woody bunging the knockout stage draw officials (Olympiakos in the round of 16, Porto in the QF - cheers UEFA). We had to play a proper team in the semis because there were only proper teams left. Juve smashed us 2-0 in Turin and then played the most quintessentially Italian game of "feck you" to get a 0-0 at Old Trafford (I shit you not. How else do you explain "extended highlights" meaning I got to see one shot from Herrera sail over the crossbar in 90 minutes). Story of the season, though, was the FA cup win. 3-1 over Chelsea in the final with two goals for Antonio Valencia. You could see the little 3-D rendition of him running over to the home fans with his arms aloft and, I swear, a facial expression that said "Nah, I can't believe it either, I'm rubbish"

The board basically ejaculated £140m at me at that point and excitedly demanded that I spend it. I bid for Embolo, he fecked off to Spurs. I bid for Berardi, he fecked off to Spurs. I bid for Icardi on the basis that if Spurs made an offer I was marching down to White Hart Lane with a ski mask and a molotov. Levy took the hint and kept his distance. Tielemans and Bazoer cam too, for £26m combined. That's my "BFS and Carrick ain't getting any younger" business. I blew £27m on Alex Texeira, after receiving a scout report that basically said "If someone served you a meal of broken glass and liquid faeces and promised to sell you this lad after dinner you'd have to eat it. He's that good."

Now my squad is huge, though. Januzaj's come back from loan. Gribbin will be expecting something, too. I gave him a few minutes at the end of last season and he scored two goals in three games. I tried to flog Rojo and Young but no bastard wants them and Juan Mata's thrown a hissy fit because I rejected £55m from Barca for him. I'm almost hoping for an injury crisis just so everyone will get a chance to play.

I remember when I was 16 I stayed up all night the night before a GCSE mock exam due to an exhilarating Champions League run. We lost in the final, Philip Mexes got sent off in the 2nd minute and I foolhardily decided to be gung-ho and play for 88 with 3 at the back until we were 4-1 down and I finally accepted my mistake and sent Wes Brown on to make it 4 again. Could barely keep my eyes open in the exam the next morning. I'd always thought that "ChampMan addiction" stuff was a bit juvenile and behind me but as I sit at work today and tinker with a report that's due this week it's probably not a good sign that the thing at the front of my mind is how I'm going to find room for Rooney in my team this year and whether playing without a dedicated holding midfielder is going to leave me vulnerable against the big teams.

Alright chaps. Any way to play this offline? Got a long train journey coming up so was hoping to fire this up.

I thought it would get too easy and I'd be bored after a few seasons but I'm in my 5th now and still going grand. We won the league with about 5 matches to spare last season 24 points clear in the end up on 97 points. Martial scores basically a goal a game if not better and Tielemans is now probably the best player in the league. Yet, it's not been a cakewalk this season. I'm trying to bring through two 5* rated centrebacks while converting an 18 year old winger into a fullback and an 18 year old striker into a winger. My new thing is signing teams best youngsters and changing their positions because I'm a genius.

We are battling with Chelsea for first and I'm planning on maybe getting rid of Jones and DDG in the summer as one is no longer really needed and the other wants £350k a week on his new contract. For a keeper? No way. Neymar and Bernando Silva haven't really lit up the league so we aren't running away with it like last season and the hammerings are few and far between. In fact we look toothless at times and I've to give out regular half time bollockings.

Feckin' striker comes to me, complaining about lack of first team football. Fine.

I explain that he's been shite.

He fairly asks for constructive criticism.

You don't score enough.(2 in 15 games).

"I don't care about that" (he's not Hazard, btw)

About here should be the button to scream "Maybe you should fecking care, you useless pile of shite, that's the fecking point of being a striker!"

Thankfully the other striker is a goal a game man.

That's one of the most annoying parts of the game, conversation's where you get railroaded into either agreeing with or accepting utterly twattish behaviour. It's why I was so delighted getting to tell Pogba he's now training with the youth team, it was an option I really wasn't expecting. Sadly it's the only such instance I've ever seen in the game. I'd send them all to train with the youth team, the whinging bastards.

Andre Carillio is class on the game, can pick him up on a free in the second season. Just finished 3rd in the World Player of the year. Remarkable as I played Felipe Anderson ahead of him until Anderson got injured for the last 3 months of the season.

I actually missed out on signing Carillio on a free, he joined Olympiakos. I noticed he had a release clause of £9m and thought let me try to activate it even though I'm sure FM rarely lets players join two clubs in the same transfer window..but surprisingly after playing 1 game for his new club he joined my Atleti side.

Edit: Wage demands in this game are terrible, Juanfran who is 32 turned down a contract offer because I didn't give into his £170k a week wage demands. He's joining Liverpool on a free on £162k wages per week. He was on about 35k with me.

Urgh, board takeover just as the summer transfer window starts. I haven't been able to sign anyone and now it's the first match of the new season - how long do these usually last??

Is angel gomes not there in the DB? Was looking for him yesterday but couldn't find him.

Isn't he around 15? I don't think they're allowed to have u16 players in the DB because of child protection laws, or something along those lines. It's why Odegaard has only just been added.

I see. Thanks.
