Gaming Football Manager 2015

That's some smashing results with Torino! Hopefully you can keep grinding all season long. Italy's great fun to manage in.

I have Juventus at home soon and this will be the game that is going to define my season. If I win I'll be 8 points ahead of them and that's some cushion even with 16 games to go. If I lose they will be 2 points from me and will probably go above me soon.

I've loaned Niang from Milan, Thorgan Hazard and Campana. They should provide me with some quality in the second half of season. I'm about to close the deal for Romao which will addresss defensive midfield issue, he's 31 but seems very solid and is only €3m.

Had a look at Romao, looks like a quality DM especially for that price.
Yeah, and at 31 he will probably give me 3-4 seasons. I have a pretty old squad anyway but don't mind it.

Drew 1-1 with Juventus, 89th minute equalizer by Giovinco denied me the win. To soften the blow I managed to beat Cagliari away from home, 3-1, and I'm still 1st after 23 games with 5 points over Juventus and 6 over Fiorentina, Lazio and Inter. Next 3 games are Napoli at home, Milan away and Inter at home. Essential that I don't drop from 1st after them. I know I said I wouldn't think about the title before the final 4-5 games but you cannot help it when you're 1st with a good advantage after more than half games. I know I'm not going to ever win the league with them if I don't now. At least Champions League spot is necessary.

I guess a draw against Juve is always an acceptable result to keep them at bay.

I never liked older players, until I played with Roma this year, and had Totti still firing 20 goals in the 2nd season(was disappointed he retired), and De Rossi beasting it at 37-38. Both slow as shit, but it was almost completely irrelevant.

Yeah, I would have been happy with draw if it wasn't for the late equalizer. 1-0 would have been absolutely massive result, but then again I'd still have to worry about the other teams. Just found that Roma are 6 points off me too after winning their games in hand. Milan aren't far off either. I could still finish 8th.

He's immense, I think he was world-class for me until after my 3rd or 4th season with Roma. Never had much use for Totti, because I had an abundance of attacking talent, although I admire him.

Jesus, sounds like an mad season!

Yeah, he was world class for at least 4 years for me, and a good squad player for the next four. I'd have kept him for longer than that, only for a contract negotiation gone sour meant AC Milan pinched him on a bosman before I could re-open negotiations.

.

It is, and I'm playing it at work because we have nothing to do today.

Beat Napoli 2-0, drew 1-1 against Milan at San Siro (late equalizer by Milan) so the advantage over Juventus goes down to 3 points, my second string team has been doing well in Europa League - 0-0 draw in Zurich against Grasshoppers so I'll probably make final 16. It I make it to the QFs I'm going to stop resting my first team players in EL. I don't feel like I could win a cup competition to be completely honest.

This is actually like Atletico last season. Thorgan Hazard has been incredible so far, I won't be able to buy him after season but might extend loan for another year. He's absolutely terrific.

Letting one of Totti/De Rossi leave Roma is pretty much a wasted savegame. :p

Beat Inter 2-0, I actually managed 7 out of 9 in these 3 games. So I'll probably get destroyed by Sassuolo and Chievo next like I did versus Atalanta at home (still sick about that game, 3 points lost like that!).

Fecker walked out, his loss, missed out on Roma winning the World Cup.

Managed to set up a transfer of The Greatest Striker That Ever Lived, Bendtner for 3m in the first January window. Means I'll get to keep at least one of my loans permanently.

Looked at my fixture list. 12 games to go, next 5 look very winnable, 10 points there and I should still top the league after 31 games. It will take some work but it's doable. 15 points and I'll probably be looking for the title.

How much money to you have with Wolfsburg at the beginning without any transfers made?

Ah, yeah, winter transfers. I don't like them, that's the upside of United not making any transfers this January.
Yup, very annoying, on the flip side now Swasea begin with 26m, could be a massive fun rebuild.

Along with summer sales I bought Humam Tariq for 250k, and Lucas Digne for 2.5m, got in loans of Xabi Etxeita, Mattais Kranevitter(8.5m clause), Carlos Fierro(5m clause), Pione Sisto(4.3 clause, with the Bendtner sale I've activated this one for end of season), Sergi Samper for 2 seasons(9m clause), Fillipo Romagna for 2 seasons(6.5m clause) and Emanuel Mammana(5m clause).

Would be delighted to tie down Fierro, Kranevitter and maybe Mammana. Try for Samper during next season.

Surpassed by Juventus now, equal on points but worse goal difference. Lazio 1 point behind and Inter trailing by 7, 11 games to go in the season. Title is as good as gone IMO as form has dropped (lost 2-1 to Sassuolo away, predictably), goal is now to keep a top 3 place and play in Champions League next season. After eliminating Grasshoppers on penalties and a 3-0 win away to Dinamo in last 16 game I reckon I could put a decent challenge in Europa League, not sure if the team is good enough to pull off the cup win but nevertheless it'll be good to give it a go.

I played with only Italians, only buying Italians at all and getting rid of every non-Italian until 31st August 2016. Everything else would be too easy with a team the size of Roma.

With Wolfsburg I'd play "only Germans", I did that with Werder Bremen and Stuttgart already and it was great fun.

That's what I done with Roma too! Began with all Italians, and after a few years of that, all homegrown, so either Roma academy, or bought before 17. Then I got the NT job, and done the World Cup and Euros with a squad of only Roma players.

I'm always too lazy to take NT jobs. I edited my post.

Lost two in a row against Verona and Fiorentina so my title hopes are gone. I expected this, to be still within the shout for a CL spot is great though and with 7 games to go and 3 points over Inter and Roma I have a chance. Now I can have a good run in Europa League too, Olympiakos in QFs. I need 5 wins out of 7 games in the league to be completely certain for top 3.

The NT was quick enough as it was the same squad, tbh.

As for the other, I just done that kind of thing last save, this is meant as a change of pace. Would get boring doing the same thing over and over.

Hard luck, here's hoping you make CL.

Having a small squad of mainly 30+ players does that I guess. It was never good enough to win the league ahead of Juventus who look like they'll get 80+ points easily but if I can finsih top 3 then it'll have been incredible season too. I have some players leaving at the end of season which should improve my transfer budget and make it possible for me to build a younger and good side. Champions League money would be immense contribution towards that. I won't have another season like this if I don't buy very well.

I'm into Europa League semifinals. That's quite something with this team, 3rd in the league and EL semis is far more than I expected before season. Some hard competition though, it's Sevilla, Atletico, Dortmund and us.

Well, it's not exactly the same if you do one in Germany, one in England, one in Italy, one in France and one in Spain etc. I do it because it's too easy if you have players from every nationality to choose from, as there are just too many world-class talents around after a few seasons.

Looks like a bright future regardless.

Difficult finish to the Europa.

Got Sevilla in semis so I might make it throuh to the final, and it's a one off game against either Atletico or Dortmund, anything could happen. A top 5 finish that I'm already certain about and EL semis is already quite an achievement at Torino I think.

Cracking season all round.

Yeah, and guess what, I beat Roma 3-1 away from home putting myself 4 points over 4th with 4 games to go (perfect four all round) and destroyed Sevilla 5-0 in EL. I think I can pull off 3rd (or maybe even 2nd) place finish and EL final is basically as good as safe.

Fantastic!

Coming towards the end of season, now in EL final against Atletico in 3 days and then final day away game to Lazio 2nd in the league, a point ahead of Lazio and two ahead of Inter, a draw is all I need to finish 2nd.

Can't believe I've just managed to complete over half a season of Football Manager at work.

Lost 3-0 to Atletico in the final but drew 1-1 with Lazio on the final day and secured 2nd place!! Champions League, here we come!!

Shame about the Atletico game, but secured CL is far more important in the long run!

My side got dismantled at the end of season. Plenty of my players were loanees, El Kaddouri, Ruben Perez, Hazard, Niang etc. have all left and I was only given €8m to replace them. I sold fringe players so I had more money to spend, still not quite enough to replace all departures. I sold all fringe players and had a look at transfer lists as well as older players. managed to bring in Langerak, Mariga, Hallfredsson, Tachtisidis, El Hamdaoui, Badu, Fred and Rolfes. It'll be an old team and the entire midfield is new but I had about 12 players at the beginning of transfer window so I still think I've done a good job replacing those who left. What's important for me is that I kept the whole defence and goalkeeper intact, they were key in last season's success (30 goals conceded in the league).

I have a group with Leverkusen, Chelsea and Monaco in CL. Getting out of this will be a miracle. I'll obviously be trying to concede as few as possible and grind out 1-0s at home but it's Torino, with half of the good team gone.

Nasty group in the CL, surprised they gave you so little to build a CL squad...

I won the Bundesliga, by a single point after a nasty final run of 3 draws and a loss, got ko'd in the cup semi, and Europa's first ko round.

Went just a slight tiny bit wonderkid mad in the summer.

On to of the Schar and Ayew bosmans I landed Kondogbia(transfer listed for 2.2m!!!!!), Kranveitter's loan made permanent, Balanta, Jonathan Silva, Fierro's loan made permanent, Niklas Sule, Lucas Romero, Sisto's loan made permanent, Vietto and Barbosa.... Like a child in a toy shop.....

Yeah, especially as I had most of my good players on loan. There's no way I'll be able to make CL second season in a row, I'll probably focus on having a good run in the competition. If I could get out of this group it'd be perfection.

Might get some good players on loan again?
None of them wanted to join.

Poor start in the league but we've picked up some form recently, obviously the side needed to gel. Great start in CL, 0-0 at home against Monaco and a lucky 1-0 win at Leverkusen, good position for the future. Shame my job is already in danger after 7 games in the league, I really need time to make it right. I think I have 2-3 games to save my job, either I climb up to 5th - 6th or I'm a goner.

Finally got round to starting my United save on the last patch.

Here is my squad for the season...

GK - De Gea, Valdes

Def - Rafael, Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Shaw, Stones

Mid - Blind, Herrera, Carrick, Fellaini, Ward-Prowse, Di Maria, Januzaj, Canales

Fwd - Rooney, Wilson, Van Persie, Insigne.

Spent around £80mill and re-couped nearly £70mill. Signed up Kane to come in at the end of the season, hoping to have as many English players as possible. Only if they'll make a difference though.
