Gaming Football Manager 2015

So it's actually been going ok with United after the tips you guys gave me. Now playing a 4-2-4 wide, with a standard structured mentality, with lower tempo and short passing, focused on wider play. I'm in 2nd after both RVP and Falcao have been out injured for 2 months at the same time. I'm playing good at home, winning every game, and also really good away to the good teams. 3-0 away to City, 3-2 away to Everton and a 2-2 away to Arsenal.

However, I struggle with set pieces and away to lesser teams. No away wins except to City and Everton, and I've generally been very poor away from home to worse teams. Any tips of how to approach those games?
Also, any good set piece instructions? I've tried a few different but nothing has helped and most of my goals conceded are from set pieces.

Struggling to make top 4 with Southampton. Took over a few seasons in so missing a few of the good players. Just don't have the money to compete atm, squad is wafer thin. Starting 11 is pretty good, probably top 4 worthy though. Injuries are a cnut.

4th season with United now and my team is going strong. won my first CL last year but lost the FA cup final to Everton.
The league was a two horse race between my and Chelsea untill the last three games, they lost all and even fell behind to third with Arsenal grabbing second.

This year i have a great feeling playing like this :
-----------------DeGea---------------
---Rafael--Jones--Balanta--Shaw---
---Tielemans--Koke--Ödegaard----
----------------Januzaj-------------
--------Munir-----------------------
--------------------Wilson----------

Second team like this :
---------------------Savic----------------------
Coleman--Rogers(regen)--Mensah--Kongolo
----Ward-Prowse--Blind--Götze---------------
-------------------Mata-------------------------
---------Rooney---------------------------------
------------------------Barbosa----------------

I've never changed set piece instructions at all. If I start conceding a few - especially if it's in particular situations like away games vs lesser opposition - I just set the match preparation training to "defending set pieces" in the week leading up to those games. Usually works a treat :)

Has anybody ever used Pablo Iniguez before?

I picked him up for £3.5m which was always going to be a steal, loaned him out for 2 seasons and now some of his stats are unreal.

20 tackling, 16 marking, 15 passing, 16 positioning, 14 anticipation, 17 acceleration and 16 pace. Looks to be a very good defender who can play the ball. The only trouble is his composure is... 4.

Does this lack of composure mean that he will be error prone in every game, or does it only really set in in big games? ie. can I use him as squad rotation in the lesser games or can he simply not be trusted?

I'd be a little worried about it, but still, worth throwing him into the rotation, it should only be an issue when he's being pressured. I'd train the attribute up though.

Worth training him to not dive into tackles. Also how high is his Decisions attribute?

Any FMTRE users?

I'm playing FM13. I was United with 300m in the bank and a 250m bank debt.

I decided to just get it over with and used FMRTE to set the debt to 0 and take the money out of my total balance.

Problem is that it says "Debt of £0 (6.12m per month) and is still taking over 6 million out of my account per month.

I have even tried moving the date the debt runs out to the next in-game day, but it doesn't expire. It still takes out the money after the expiration. What's going on?

I think I had this problem with FM12 too.
I think if you set the debt to i.e 6.12m, you'll repay the last of it in the next payment and the game will think you've repayed all of the debt.

I sold him. First game of pre-season and he hits a short backpass under no pressure, and then gave away a penalty later in the game. Brought Chiriches in on loan as cover so I'll be fine.

European Super Cup against United and Masherano breaks Lucas Romero's leg with "a robust challenge". 6 months out :(

Ahh well, was a punt worth taking, no big loss.

Nasty luck with Romero. Masherano making sure there's a spot in the NT for himself.

:(

Always annoys me how the AI changes De Gea's number to 13 in every game.

United just offered a debut to a 15 year old striker in the Champions league semis. Din't recognize him from my trawl through there youth team from when the regens where generated. Turns out he actually generated for me but ended up signing for united. My burning hate for him knows no bounds!

It's also worth mentioning he scored a hatrick.

So I've just started getting into this having picked it up in a sale just before Christmas. I'm in October and fourth in the league after a string of dropped points against Villa, Spurs and Burnley. I was about to rant about how unrealistic that was until I remembered our actual results this season...

That said, in all three of those games their goalkeeper was MotM with a 9+ rating. It seems the superkeeper is still alive and well in these games.

I'm also hearing that the match engine is fundementally broken when it comes to crosses, and I should be raining them into the opposition's box Moyes-style. Is that true?

Depay wants to join Arsenal to win the Champions League, told him to go feck himself. I think a squad revolt is imminent. He has a 30 million release clause as well, had been pondering a new contract but I'm sure it will be rejected now.

I don't ever (or very rarely) quit and reload a game to get a result, but just now I had to. Champions league final against Barcelona, winning 2-0 and dominating, and then the ref hands them 3 penalties out of nothing and a red card to one of my players in the second half for them to win 3-2 :wenger:

Does anyone have any experience with playing the game (using Steam) in several regions?

Game is on sale, but I'm currently in the USA. Would it be a problem if I buy it in the USA and later play the game in Belgium? (region-locked?)

Nothing is region locked. I own a copy of Dragon Age: Orgins on Steam. Wasn't available where I live so I had a guy on the internet gift me it. Valve is very much against anything region locked.

Should have taken the defeat gracefully like Drogba or Mourinho.

Lost 4-3 in the replay in extra time anyways... They only got the 2 penalties this time but I had one too so I guess it's okay.

Valencia is an absolute beast in my game. He's my best player, has 12 goals and assists combined after 10 league games, and keeps scoring with his left foot!

Nah, this game is absolutely broken. I was beating Norwich 3-0 in the Capital One Cup, they proceeded to be given five penalties and beat me 4-3. Then City hammered me 7-0 despite being 11th in the league and with Aguero, Silva and Toure out injured. feck it, the engine actually feels more broken than any previous game. Last FM game I buy - they're getting worse.

Oh, and after 24 games Everton are top of the league, with Liverpool a point behind them, then there's a nine point gap to me in third. Arsenal are fourth, Chelsea sixth, City eleventh. Uh-huh. Right.

2 goals up against Leicester away, and everyones favourite guy Vardy steps up and... gets Rooney injured for 4 months, the cnut. Won the game 5-1 in the end, but Rooney is out for the season.

played 30 games in the league so far...scored 148 goals. Not sure what I should be aiming for as a target. Think 200 is a bit far off :p
Kinell, beats my record! My best was like 3.9 goals per game average, had 80 goals after 19 games I remember. It's much harder to get a defensively dominant team but it's what I've started to try and get. Closest to Mourinho's record of 15 goals conceded I got was 20, though that's because my defence collapsed in the last 6-7 games after I wrapped up the title. Would've beaten the record otherwise if they didn't start slacking!

Yeah I've never really been able to set up to keep the scores down. This season ended 36 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss. Scored 180, conceded 29. Difference of 151. I think they scored 11 goals in a game about 5 or 6 times throughout the season.

Although I guess it's a bit easier when Messi scored 41 in the league (63 overall), Neymar scored 38 in the league (56 overall), Munir scored 27 in the league (40 overall), and Suarez scored 24 in the league (42 overall)

I can't get my DoF to sign transfer targets. It just says they're "on hold" the whole time without any progress being made.
