Re-loaded the game, maybe it's because I'm playing as a worse team (Swansea) than before (Utd) but finding holding on to a lead/draw against the big teams near impossible. Once we're a goal down or two, or even better three we're unstoppable, but as soon as we draw level we panic and turn to shit again. Prime example, away at Man City, go 2-0 down in 10 minutes, bring it back to 2-2 mid 2nd half, go 3-2 down, score immediately to make it 3-3, concede again immediately and lose 4-3. Came back from 3-0 down against Chelsea only to end up losing again 4-3.
Basically whenever I try to play compact - defensive/counter tactic, no high press/high tempo we seem to create nothing and still concede, then when the 'big' teams sits back on their lead whilst I'm playing control/attacking, with high tempo, pressing and getting 'stuck in' we dominate. So I'm debating just playing attacking all the time...though losing 4-3 consistently suggests it's the defence that needs working on.
Another thing, fecking defending corners and free-kicks. Atleast 50% of my goals conceded are from corners or a free-kick where my keeper will save it but they'll follow in the rebound and score whilst my defenders stand around. That rarely ever happens in real life so feels pretty frustrating conceding like it the whole time.
Maybe Swansea are just rubbish at defending and it's nothing to do with my tactics at all.
