Gaming Football Manager 2015

I might've been too successfull too fast with FC United though, the club is not able to keep up financially. I get 0% of my outgoing transfers now, and the finances are insecure :(
Why is that? Shouldn't you be swimming in money since your player wages are way below the league money? Or are you just shit at managing finances?

I just fired my entire youth and U21s. They've been god damn terrible and lost every game all season, and none of them have any ability nor potential. Waste of space. Might not even enter the U21/U18-league next year.

Lack of attendance, sponsorships, commercial income and my wage budget is way beyond what it should be, (I realised after going way above it ) so I'm losing about £100k each month, and made a loss for about 22% of my total revenue despite winning League 1 and that painting trophy.

But you get a lot in the Championship.

What's the media prediction for your team and how do you see your chances?
What's your average attendance?
My prediction is 24th, as it has been ever since I was playing in Conference North  My team has been terrible, and I'm baffled how this crop of players managed to get so far. I've signed a few strikers who were above the division they've been playing in though, which is why I'm setting records for both goals scored and conceded in every competition I've been in! :D

My average attendance last season in League 1 was 4874. When I arrived at the club, it was at average 2055..

I'm getting ALOT of interview offers, and then they offer me the job basically. I had to court the Real Madrid-job abit, but the board usually love me by the end of every stint at the club, so they dont really do anything. It was easier before I had to exclude certain leagues because I'd already won something there. It's harder when I have to get a job in England/Germany, but atleast now I can stick with FC United if they dont offer me a interview at Bayern.

Sounds good. It just all gets a bit messy if you're pissing off the board at every opportunity, but equally I don't want to be stuck here for too long waiting for the jobs to come to me! Cheers for that

Is anyone else having (Or had) an issue with wingers switching wings between confirming the starting squad..and the match actually starting?

I'll start the game with Depay on the left wing as an IF, and Sterling on the RW as a Winger...then I'll check at half time, and they're on the opposite wings now.

Something I'm doing?

You sure that they dont have "swap wings" or anything similar in their instructions?

Got myself a crash dump. Fantastic!

Must have been scenes in the Forest dressing room after this.

Just beat a recently relegated Everton, captained by Ross Barkley at the age of 32. He's been there for every season, even 3 seasons in tier 2

Team morale is very poor at the moment. Rooney upset about Powell being sold and Di Maria because Henriquez was sold and also because Rooney is unhappy .

Every one of those stores I've heard starts with "Rooney upset", most on the SI page just sell him and it seems to clear the squad problems right up.
Yep, he's an ass. I had problems all through the first year of my United save, sold Rooney, and since then nothing.

United just aren't worth the hassle in Football Manager 15. The player's are absolute twats, who too easily become unhappy.

I suppose it's probably how they were under Moyes though, and so Sports Interactive saw it fit to implement in the game.

Get rid of Rooney and it's insanely easy actually. He does seem to be the root of all United's problems!

Bored of my United save since it's too easy, started a new save to win a league title in as many countries as possible. Started off with Chivas in Mexico since they start off managerless, should be fun :)

Into my 1st CL football with Derby, came 2nd in the group behind Bayern. My reward....2 legs against Real Madrid.

Expecting the worst..battered them 6-1 at home in the 1st leg!

Starting the first tilt at league with mixed results, sitting in a playoff spot somehow, 7 games 4 wins, 3 losses.

I'd actually be doing better, by my key player, Sean Maguire(ex-West Ham), was injured the last few games. Including cups he has 7 goals in 6 games. Back in a few days.

Get in, snuck into the CL spots on the final day of the season at the expense of Liverpool!

They had a good lead on me with around 4-5 games to go but 2nd to last game I hammered them at Anfield, then a loss away to QPR and a win for me at home to Southampton did the trick.

I'm on course for my first FM relegation in many years, got promoted to the Norwegian premier division but we're the only semi-pro club in the league (despite 3 promotions in 4 years the board apparently don't trust me enough to make the club professional) and my entire wage budget is only slightly more than the average wage at the big clubs. And I already have players bitching about lack of football 4 games into the season. Somehow managed to get 5 points from those 4 games though, which is better than I'd expected.

So i have some question, or experiences, i wonder happens with anybody else?

1. In the press conference, the journos out of nowhere ask me if Baggio(yes, Roberto) could put preassure on my injuried player for a spot in the first team. Happens about ten times a season and its always Roberto Baggio who appearantly dropped his job as coach at Palermo to try and preassure himself into my team.

2. Trying to hire David Beckham as a coach, but it says in his info he dont want to work for a team in the PL. Then signs for West Brom! Happens with players also, dont want to play in my league, sign for another shit team in my league. Do they hope to go down?

3. Scoring one-on-one with the goalie NEVER happens. Everytime, nomather who it is, they place it wide.

4. Players beeing angry at me for no reason. Rafael goes apeshit because Anderson dont get first team action. Carrick storms into my office if he dont play like ALL THE TIME. And on the other hand, Phil Jones get furious if i play Chris Smalling. He thinks he suck.

5. Have the team play direct = give the ball away.

6. Smashing another team, destorying them, and have the ball almost all the time, midfielders playing great = Ryan Giggs tells me midfield is a problem and suggest i do something about it quick, if not i might loose the game i lead 4-0.

And last a question. How do you guys do with the best young players? I have a 15 year old guy comming thru my acedamy now, world star potential. How do i play him? Loan him out? in the u-18s? u-21? are there any danger taking him up to my senior squad and give him some game time?

Won the league and the league cup with Marseille in my second season and got to the quarters in the CL, but it wasn't an enjoyable season so when Bilbao offered me an interview and later the job I took it. Laporte had been sold to Man Utd unfortunately, so I was a bit short on defenders, which isn't good considering the lack of alternatives. Picked up one 2*CA and one 2.5*CA, both around 27-28 years so yeah... Anyway, after a lot of bitching from pretty much everyone at the start of the season, with half the team wanting to leave to Valencia of all clubs, it was quite nice to start the season with a win against Valencia with 6-2. Hopefully I can keep all my best players and make a push for at least the CL in my first season. With no European football (they finished 10th previous season) it should be doable.

Never coached Athletic before, any tips except looking at the youth system?

Don't loan him out, give him 15-30 minutes whenever you can from the bench. At least 15. Perhaps the odd cup start.

Any Spanish u-16 can be signed in game for Athletic(and will instantly become Basque), so poach like hell. Also, the other Basque clubs have smashing academies. Watch them like a hawk and nab anyone who looks class.

Don't forget to keep an eye on the Basques in other leagues, Monreal, Azpilicueta, Arteta, Xabi Alonso, etc, etc.

How many seasons are you in? Your keepers are wank, but the only real option out there is ASSE's Ruffier, who's very good but rubbish with distribution.

Really? Didn't know that, thanks!

It's only the third season in the game, and my first choice keeper is getting old so I'll look into Ruffier.

Just had a mad one, key DM sent of 10 second in. Took the lead anyway. 60 mins in my striker drops, torn calf, no forwards on the bench. Finish the game with a 5-4-0 formation scrappy 0-1 away win.

Feck yeah finally made it to the CL final after going out twice in the semi-finals. After only drawing 1-1 against Real Madrid in the first leg I thought our chances of getting through were really slim especially since my team was far from convincing in the first leg but we turned it around with a 2-1 win at the Santiago Bernabeu. The other semi-final is betweeen Liverpool and Bayern and Liverpool has scored two away goals in the first leg. I have the uneasy feeling that I'll have to play them in three cup finals this year. The Capitol one cup final I already lost against them and I have a FA-Cup final coming up against them in two weeks.

Edit: nope got that wrong actually Bayern lost the first leg 4-2 but they won the third leg 3-0 anyways so it's me against Bayern in the CL final and Bayern will have the chance to be the first team to ever defend their title in the CL.

On top of that I think I'll have a look what Bayern did to beat Liverpool so convincingly and see if I can't use some of that stuff for the FA Cup final.

Edit: Awesome now Evans and Shaw are out for the CL final. That sucks major balls.

Re-loaded the game, maybe it's because I'm playing as a worse team (Swansea) than before (Utd) but finding holding on to a lead/draw against the big teams near impossible. Once we're a goal down or two, or even better three we're unstoppable, but as soon as we draw level we panic and turn to shit again. Prime example, away at Man City, go 2-0 down in 10 minutes, bring it back to 2-2 mid 2nd half, go 3-2 down, score immediately to make it 3-3, concede again immediately and lose 4-3. Came back from 3-0 down against Chelsea only to end up losing again 4-3.

Basically whenever I try to play compact - defensive/counter tactic, no high press/high tempo we seem to create nothing and still concede, then when the 'big' teams sits back on their lead whilst I'm playing control/attacking, with high tempo, pressing and getting 'stuck in' we dominate. So I'm debating just playing attacking all the time...though losing 4-3 consistently suggests it's the defence that needs working on.

Another thing, fecking defending corners and free-kicks. Atleast 50% of my goals conceded are from corners or a free-kick where my keeper will save it but they'll follow in the rebound and score whilst my defenders stand around. That rarely ever happens in real life so feels pretty frustrating conceding like it the whole time.

Maybe Swansea are just rubbish at defending and it's nothing to do with my tactics at all.

My United team are playing Swansea in Alan Tate's testimonial. The only thing is he's not playing because he's gone to Swindon .

Hell Yeah. Beat Liverpool 2-0 in the FA Cup final and one weekend later I managed to snatched a 1-0 CL final win against Bayern in a thrilling final. Second treble in the back after 1999. It took 19 years but it's finally there.

Now Rooney the fat little cnut complains about me not keeping my promise of giving him more starts in the first team. He asked me for more game time with 5 games in the season to go and after he had missed most of the season with injury. Now he is angry I didn't keep my promise despite starting him all of the remaining 5 league games. Now he wants to leave. He is free to go the fat useless cnut, isn't even first choice anymore anyways and hasn't had a single season where I would say he was among my top performers even when he still started most games. Okay go ahead Wayne leave. I'm sure there are a ton of top teams out there that are happy to employ a 32 old heavily declined player that wants 300k p/w. I'm sure they will come running once I put you on the transfer list.

Edit: Wow he saw sense and now is commited to stay again. Surprise, surprise.

Have you tried putting in more "defend against set pieces" training?

How many stars do you have in defend or tactical training?

Love it! FC United having a general manager-election every year, and this year I think the club struck gold. About a minute after the new guy is hired, I get offered a new 5 year contract with my salary increased by 1000% (literally!)
