Gaming Football Manager 2015

So I let Mata go 1 1/2 years before his contract was up since PSG offered me 48M € for him I took the opportunity. He wasn't even getting games anyways due to injuries and not really getting fully fit again before picking up another injury so I decided it was the right time to let him go.

Does anyone know why the fans are moaning about less than exciting football? I mean I have the second best attack in the league only slightly behind Chelsea who are simply insane and I have by far the best possession stats in the league. So does anyone know what their problem is? I also feel that watching our games our football can be pretty amazing at times. But well maybe they are just angry about me letting too many stars leave the team and they think without the star players my play is less attractive.

I can't work out how to give the fans the possession football they so crave, so I changed my expectations with the board so they'd be looking for more direct football. Somehow I'm not playing direct football either. Apparently I'm playing something that's neither one nor the other and is bursting with goals, which makes the fans "delighted with the team's attempt to produce an attacking brand of football", but also "slightly disappointed with the way the team has played on the pitch".

Majestic idiots, those United fans.

10 pre-season games. 3 wins, 3 draws, 4 losses. Goal difference was 20-22. 1 clean sheet and 1 game without scoring. Only proper games were Man. City and Newcastle (the only good pre-season performance). The familiarity with the tactic is only at about 60%. Don't get it. I've been highly focusing on it and my tactical coach is a 5 star man. Probably kept with the fitness training for too long but I'd assume they would have understood a simple tactic yet. Can't really blame the fitness level for the goals conceded as only 8 of them were conceded in the 2nd half. Is it mainly the rotation+little tactical familiarity to blame or are my tactics just shit?

Set your instruction to retain possession and mentality to attacking

The fans reads your tactics, not the result imo

I'd suggest you ride it out until they become familiar fully with your tactics, I do get that erratic displays up until 2nd half of the season. So it's normal. I use the same tactics till season 5 and after season 1 you're practically steamrolling everyone and don't need to alter anything other than a few tempo tweak accordingly

My United tactics have got a bit out of hand... RVP and Falcao are both averaging a goal a game and I can't bring myself to drop/rotate them, so I'm playing a weird 4-1-1-2-2 formation with Reus and Di Maria as inside forwards, Blind holding and Verratti (who's been a bit shit) in midfield. I'm hammering teams at home and only lost once all season, when I had 32 shots to Everton's 8 but somehow lost 3-1, but had some high scoring away games - beat Spurs 4-3 (after being 3-0 up), beat Burnley 5-3 (after being 3-0 up) and drew 5-5 with Swansea (after being 3-0 and then 5-2 up...). Defence schmefence.

My DoF hired Ronald de Boer as a scout, though he failed his coaching badge for the last 6 months so I just ended his misery and fired him. Bloody useless fool :D

Another year, same old shit in FM.

41 fecking shots and they score from basically their only 2 chances, absolute horseshit. Why do SI never fix the issues? Why do I keep buying this piece of shit?

@Cina hahahahaha

@Snow I started a Fiorentina save after telling you to, how's yours going? I finished 3rd in the first season after being 8th most of the year, really kicked on in late March. I got to the Euro Cup semis but didn't turn up whatsoever against Lille and got thrashed.

I signed Balanta and Horvath, and loaned Suso, Tiendalli (cancelled Richards) and Gnabry.

Cuadrado finished with 9 goals and 18 assists in the league, Gomez had 30 goals and 6 assists in 35 games.

I've signed Savic and Cuadrado to long term contracts now, I considered selling Cuadrado to Chelsea for ~£40m but they wouldn't do much upfront and I didn't think I could replace him that easily.

Second window I've signed Romero, Ramiro (confuses me occasionally), Depay, Ajer, Roberto Pererya, Ronnow and De Silvestri. Got a hard group in the CL, and I'm expected to challenge for the title so we'll see how things go!

To be fair, that happens in real life too, like that Barca/Chelsea game the other year, or us beating Southampton 1-2 with one shot on target.
41 shots though? Anyway the issue is that was my fourth game and it's a really regular occurrence in FM. I'm convinced it's not just random and it's the game purposely setting you back a peg from time to time.

Yeah, tbf 41 shots is a bit mad, win or loose.

I always thought they pegged you back a touch in the transfer market. Seems the cpu gets better deals, or can unsettle your players easier. Always thought it was due to the player being able to squad build better, or more easily cherry pick all the wonderkids and such(as the cpu rarely bids for players outside of windows).

Started a messing around save with Barcelona.

Neymar-----Messi-----Suarez are just taking the piss

I'm about to spend 45m on a 19 year old striker from Southampton....

screenshot?

 ffs, Messi and Suarez both get injured in international games and are out for 3 weeks, Neymar isn't fit either.

It's pretty stupid how much shots one team can get in pretty much every game. I average between 30-40 shots in every game and i'm not even playing attacking football. It's pretty unrealistic imo and if they toned down the average number of shots you can get it wouldn't feel like you're strikers are all on some heavy shit and can't hit a barn door with a banjo.

The natural fitness is a concern, but with some of those stats at 19(anticipation, composure, finishing, off the ball and speed), and world class potential, consistency, and being a big gamer....

Needless to say, I'll have to grind on that dribbling for a while.

He has "tries first time shots", not sure if I should get rid of that, seems like he might have the attributes to take advantage of it....

Hmm, in my excitement at finally getting Chippendale(for 34+9m addons in the end), I neglected the fact that I already had 5 first team strikers.

Not sure what to do. Could sell Boye and Toney, or Boye and a mid, and push Tielemans back to midfield.

I could also switch formations. Roberts, Powell and a hatful of my regens are all natural at AMC, could go diamond and sell some defenders and/or mids. George Thorne would be no real loss, and Phil Jones would make an excellent anchorman, this would involve me retraining though(one of my wingbacks is not competent at fullback).

The thing putting me off major switch ups is that both Tielemans and Roberts have absolutely excelled as strikers...

Feck running into a bit of a problem here. Squad keeps moaning that I'm not giving Jones a better contract despite him being deserving. The problem with that is that due to my own rules I can't give him a new contract especially since I accidentally already extended his contract because I thought he was a home grown player. But I'm considering making a compromise since I'm not willing to risk an angry squad this close to the end of the season. I might just keep the contract length as long as it is right now and offer him higher wages and hope that will work.

Feck yeah third league title in a row despite all the quality drain from the team and competing against a Chelsea team that looked invincible for long parts of the season.

Now I just need to turn around the 2-0 deficit in the CL against Roma not impossible but not scoring an away goal will certainly hurt.

Edit: Well couldn't get past Roma a 1-0 win at home wasn't enough. We had a lot of good chances but if you can't finish for shit you will go out. Too bad thought we might have a real chance of turning this around after scoring our first goal early but again the semi-final of the CL has been the end of the road for us.

Edit 2: Alright season is over and I broke Chelsea's point record in the process. Especially the second part of the season was sensational with 18 wins and 1 draw.

I've only just begun. Not been able to play it today at all or yesterday.

I sold Cuadrado fro 40m cash. Bought Depay to "replace" him. Didn't replace the right wing. Got rid of deadwood for peanuts and terminated the Richards loan. Going with Joaquin and Ilicic for this season with Marin being able to play there as well if needed. Depay could go there too. Figured Joaquin could be good enough for one season with low expectations. Bought Balanta as well for 7m. Bough De Silvestri (was co-owned) for 2m. Then kicked myself for not buying Gino Peruzzi instead. He went for a little more than that (or was he also co-owned?). Bought Tielemans and loaned him to Anderlecht for the seasons. Figured he wouldn't get too much game time in my first season whilst I still had Aquilani and Borja in their prime, sort of.

Lazio looks like they have a good squad. Also looking at Sassuolo, no wonder they've done so well IRL. They seem to have a good scouting network.

I'll tag you when I do some work. Won't be able to play for a while :(

Hehe.

Chippendale

Has anyone had Villa sign Cleverley on a permanent basis on their game before his contract expires?

I got him back from loan, got him to sign a new contract and fecked him off to Juventus for £12 million.

Pleased with that.

What a managerial debut!

This league has some strange rules though. For instance, you have to have a minimum of three Under-21 players on the bench. It doesn't matter how many you have on the pitch, you can have 11, but you must have 3 on the bench. Bit weird.

That's what I tried too except no one was interested in him. Although Rooney got annoyed when I sold Nick Powell, so maybe it's for the best...

Absolutely pisses me off when you clinch the title with 5/6 games to spare and then the players then slacken off. I was on a fecking 32 match unbeaten run

Rooney gets annoyed with anything I do anyway. He sulked for the majority of my first season until I sold him to Real for a cut-price of 21 million plus add-ons

Signed Pirlo for United in the Jan '16 window.

Didn't need him, but it's Pirlo. What kind of monster would turn down Pirlo?

In the 1st season with Derby, somehow managed to snag Bakkali on a free for the summer!

Would you guys recommend buying this game? I havent got a FM for almost three years. Is it worth buying?
