Gaming Football Manager 2015

Rulli looks amazing. His stats are on par with, if not better than, De Gea and his scout report tells me his mental stats and consistency are about as good as it can get. If De Gea ever bitches out on me there's no doubt I'll go for Rulli. The other option is Courtois, but for some reason he seems to be perfectly happy immortalizing his own arseprint on Chelsea's bench while Cech plays all the games.
Rulli is at worst, one of the top 5 keepers in the game, IMHO. In fact, in personal preferences, top 3, behind De Gea and Courtois.

Obviously Neuer should be no 1, but I'm not a major fan of eccentric keepers, though Neuer has the distribution skills to cover for it.

Started a Fiorentina save. Cuadrado and Savic are highly wanted. Both want CL football. Sold Cuadrado in less than 2 weeks for 40m to Chelsea.

Ditched some Octavio loan and Micah Richards and bought 50% of the De Silvestri contract for 2m. He's better than both Tomovic and Richards so no point in wasting 30k per week on an injury prone player that isn't really needed.

Not sure where to improve. I could improve in every position. I'm probably best of up front. Got a promising youngster, a decent backup and Gomez as a starter, plus Rossi will be back before the season is over. I'll probably go for someone like Balanta. Could do with a player like him. He'll cost less than 10m probably so that's 30m+ left to spend.

After a brace and an assist in a 4-0 win against Liverpool in the Community Shield, Memphis Depay has been involved in exactly 150 goals in his three seasons (plus one game) playing for me. Man, he's good. Probably the best non-regen I've ever bought in any FM game. He loves the club and the fans love him, so it looks like he's finishing his career here as well. Not bad for a 23-year-old.

Depay, of course. Plays on the left. My weakest position really. What does he cost in the first or second season?

I think I paid just under £20 million for him, with 20% of the profits of a future sale going to PSV as well. Considering he's worth about £45 million quid now and the fact that a bid will have to be triple that before I'll even start listening to offers, those 20% could be significant.

The only problem is the severe lack of quality wingers in the game. I'll have to play an asymmetrical formation with two AMCs and Depay on the left wing if I don't find a world class right winger within the next couple of seasons. AMCs seem to be growing on trees. I've got three potentially great regens coming through that are natural AMCs, while I've tried to pry away a couple of others as well, but for some reason German clubs put a £100+ million asking price on their 17-year-old talents. For me to keep playing with a right winger I'll need someone better than my AMCs, and the only candidates at the moment are Bale, Neymar and Hazard, who are all predominantly left wingers, like Depay. I can't find any young right wingers who look like they're going to get anywhere close to that level.

Anyone have any ideas for good right wingers who will score and assist loads, that are under 20 years old at the start of the game? I've looked at Iturbe, Bruma, Muniain and Bernard and probably a few more I've forgotten. Sterling or Coutinho would be good options if they didn't play for Liverpool. I've tried putting in large bids for both. Laughed off both times. I have a feeling I won't be getting anywhere without an astronomical fee.

I fecking hate international breaks. You take care to keep your players fit and rested all season long and after every fecking international break they come back either injured or half dead with exhaustion. I mean who manages all these national teams Felix Magath?

I don't know about FM, can only think of good or promising players IRL and scout them. Like Barcelona's Dongou.

"What a goal by -insert average player here-! Struck from 20 yards out! We'll be seeing that for quite some time!"

Need to be right footed?

If not, Basacikoglu is worth a scout, as is Zivkovic(the one at Belgrade), hell, Tielemans is wicked fast and has some ability there and the world of room to grow, I've heard of people using him there. Lamela, Iturbe, Markovic and Deulofeu are all great depending on budgets and such.

So I've played 4 pre-season games with Fiorentina against lesser opponents and conceded 10 goals. Been playing 4-3-3 wide with either a player in the hole or behind two MC's. Yes I rotate a lot and it's pre-season and the players aren't fit and so on but still, I shouldn't be 3-0 down against Cardiff and Blackburn. Every first half has been awful. I've always been the better side in the 2nd half. Pre-match team talk isn't going badly :/

edit: Next game is City away. Try out a 3-at-the-back system that's on the defensive side. Strongest City team available. 2-2. City had 42 attempts.

Left-footed is preferrable. I'd rather have two inside forwards who can cut in and create mayhem than wingers who go for the cross, since my strikers are all crap in the air.

Actually had a transfer agreed for Zivkovic, but right after I offered the contract he picked up a serious injury and was out for 4-6 months or so, which meant he failed his medical and I got put off him forever. Will check on how he's progressed since then. Iturbe looks alright, but a level below what I'm looking for. Will check out your other suggestions.

Also, I already have Tielemans, but I've got plans for him in central midfield, since his attributes are better suited for a playmaking role.

I can feel the rage boiling inside me after reading that. Not to mention the random shithouses who for some reason score against you in EVERY SINGLE GAME you play against them. The worst one for me is Jordan fecking Henderson. Four games running until I finally shut up shop last time I played him. And there's that same arsehole in every pre-match presser asking me when I'm going to stop him from scoring against me. Another one is Jay Rodriguez, or Lucas Pratto, who got picked up by Everton, popping up with some jammy goal at the end of every game just to piss me off.

I've had struggles with Cuadrado and Costa, both playing for Chelsea, but they're the sort of players you'd expect to score fairly often, especially since they're playing for the best team in the league, apart from mine.

I had that with Giroud at Arsenal. Luckily I won every game by like 5-1 scorelines so it really didn't matter, but the press conference questions were still irritating.

Conceded last minute goals the last 3 games in a row. Absolute bullshit.

18 days left of the window and I think I'm done. Cuadrado and junk out for 40m+. Depay for up to 18m, Balanta for 7m, De Silvestri for 2m and Tielemans for 10m (spends the season at Anderlecht). The net transfer spending covers the agent fees so I'm on a zero for this window. Only question is whether to sing Valdes or not.

I must have conceded about 20 penalties in total on this save. I can only remember Smalling being the culprit on one occasion, other than that it's just Phil Jones acting like a homicidal psychopath inside his own box, giving away penalties like they're candy and he's a paedophile in a van.

Give me suggestions for a random European league to start a save in. Ideally one without a winter break and starting in the summer, but not special. In the past I've started in Belgium, Austria and Czech Republic. Always spend ages making this decision so I figured I'd leave it up to the masses!

Romania(no clue if they have a winter break).

That's a shout. Think I've played as Cluj before though years ago.

Thinking about it, winter breaks are ok. Nowhere near as bad as leagues that run Jan - Sept as it puts you out of sync of the rest of Europe for transfers, CL/EL etc.

Yeah, leagues with those timeframes suck.

Russia have a baffling schedule, from mid Dec. to mid Feb. off, and you have to have a 2nd run of friendlies, with a winter transfer window that starts the day before the rest of Europe finishes up.

Bilal Ould-Chikh. He's only about 17 at the start of the game as well, so he'd eventually qualify as home grown. He's amazing as a right winger

What country besides England doesn't have a winter break? Can't think of any.

It's better than what it was. Used to be from March-November. Now it matches the European football and the transfer windows, both with fitness levels and contracts.

Zivkovic is in absolute stellar form this season. He already won Holland the Euro's 2016 with two goals against Germany and is now after his last game on 13 goals in only league starts for me.

His best performance was in our last game. He basically killed Southampton on his own by being involved in every goal.

Edit: Zivkovic won player of the month and what a month it was for him

World Cup 2018, Argentina V England.

Crewe supply Rulli, the Argentine keeper, and 9 of the English team, would have been 10, had I not sold Steele.

Argentina smashed them 3-1. Of note, Messi missed the final because he had a cold......

Also, only 3 of my Englishmen started, which is clearly why they didn't compete, or so I'll claim.

Geez, that must have been a nightmare.

Wow I just noticed that PSG baught Agüero for 41M € in the winter transfer window. Seems he wasn't too pleased with City not qualifying for the CL.

Still with the prices floating around in this game that's still insanely low.

How much is 990K p/w Kr in Euro?

Is he still any good or has he already declined due to injuries?
It's about £100k, though A TON of extras. He demanded about £210k, so pretty shocked that he actually signed. He's still a beast, though I see that he was injured for 8 months so his stats seems to have suffered some. Still going to tear it up in Netherlands though :D

Chelsea brought Cuadrado on my FM save. He ruined me when I played them.

Rumours have it that Rooney will be very pleased if I bring in an Ould Chikh as well :smirk:

Finally won the CL with Ajax  After losing out to Barca in the CL final two years ago, won the EL last season and finally got to top it off with a great 3-2 win over Barca! Now to add Bale to a CL-winning squad... :D

Signed Valdes on a free and Vlaar for around £13 million in the January window. Trying to flog/loan Lindegaard and Anderson but no one wants them.

I'm now officially the manager of the brilliantly named Middelfart, in the 3rd tier of Danish football. Completely amateur outfit, wouldn't be surprised if they trained on a pitch shared with some sheep and the odd hiker.

Could be an interesting one!
