Gaming Football Manager 2015

Thanks! I'll have a look now.

Also, how reliable are scout reports? My scouts don't fancy Barbosa, but they weren't mad about Laporte either but I signed him anyway and he got in the Team of the Season. He was exceptional. Now I've signed a player called Lucas Silva from Brazil for a decent amount of money because the scouts liked him and I'm starting to regret it. Haven't played him yet but I bought him purely on what the scouts said. His stats are really consistent but I think I might have made a mistake in signing him.

Depends, sometimes I get random ones where there's no negatives and the player's great but my scout just tells me to avoid for whatever reason. Wouldn't pay much attention to them, they're only really good for finding out a bit more about the player. If it's Lucas Silva the DM/CM then don't be regretting it at all, he's quality and has the potential to be one of the best in the game.

Surprised that attendances haven't gone up much.
Has your reputation increased? And have you started to attract better players yet?

I've just finished my first season. Won the double. Lost the Premier League cup semi-final on penalties.

Edit: Lost second set of Champions League qualifiers to Plzen. Then drew Twente in Europa League qualifiers, and got knocked out.

You've kind of convinced me to sim games. I never usually do, because I've never trusted it. But so far so good. I've made some cracking signings this summer - relegating half of last season's first team to the bench.
But I'm already tiring of it, and I've only done one year.

I'll see how the next couple of seasons go before I consider calling it quits though.
Want to have a crack or two in Europe.

 I think my assistant has won the coach of the year the last 2 seasons now. I just can't bring myself to play all the domestic fixtures...the league has become almost a guarantee each season. Haven't gotten close to getting out of the group stage in the CL yet...another 6 loss showing this time around as well. Although the money is nice, I just don't see any way to get close to getting out of there yet. I guess I just have to keep trying to make the group stage, pocketing the 6-7m, and plug it back into the facilities in hopes that some amazing regens come through and carry me to glory before being picked off by any top clubs elsewhere.

I'm starting to notice a better selection of players who are interested in joining, for 2k or so salary, so I guess I am making progress, even if it doesnt seem like it.

Ah well, we go again.

@Skizzo @Speak What;'s the set-up for this, lads? Just Welsh league selected in Classic mode? I'm interested in having a go myself.

I said I'd quit this save after this season, and I still might, but the day before the CL final, my intake happened, and I landed a pair of 5* pa kids, one reckoned to have world class potential.
Day of the final, Zenit offer me a job, 2nd time this season.
Final, at OT, against Barca. 2-2 result, Suarez does the 'ol John Terry, and we take the CL. Hard fought, from a group with the champions(Man Utd), through Real Madrid, PSG, and Barca.

The league was a laugh, 104 goals in 30 games.

Late season González was being rested for Europe, could have had more goals.....

EDIT: A look back at Almere was slightly sad, they ruined the squad I had built, admittedly in no small part to me buying four of the players. Like feck I was leaving González and Yoda behind though!

Sold Jesse Lindgard, Rooney complains, I pick one answer, and the whole team goes unhappy.

Fellaini complains about lack of football, tell him to prove himself, he tell me to do one and ask for a transfer
Carrick wants first team football, told him that he'll get occasional cup game, he goes free transfer

Anyone knows how to sort this? The amount of things they complain is beyond ridiculous
Tried a United save and the entire squad was a shower of pricks. Couldn't last the save.

I'm playing in regular mode, not classic. Picked TNS to give me somewhat of a head start so I can focus on trying to build a team capable of pushing on in Europe. Currently in may 2018. TNS won 2 leagues before I started on FM15, won 4 myself. Won the Welsh Cup in 2015, 2017, and 2018. The Welsh Premier League Cup in 2015 and 2018.

Last 2 seasons I've made the Champions League group stage, but lost all 6 games quite convincingly  Healthy finances at 11m, projected at 17m. Upgraded training and youth facilities the last 2 seasons. Currently have average training, adequate youth, adequate junior coaching, and limited youth recruiting.

Join us! :D

I thought that, thanks!

I offered Aboubakar a contract but he went to City. Now I've agreed a deal with Juve for 50% of Berardi but it won't even let me make Sassuolo an offer.

@Skizzo Fair enough, I think I'll prefer Classic as I'm playing on my laptop fr the next few weeks at least which is incredibly slow for regular mode.

How many leagues have you selected? I wasn't sure whether to maybe select Scotland and Northern Ireland too so that I can increase my scouting range in the future to crap players in other countries too. At the moment I just seem to be signing half of my rivals teams best players to amateur contracts, not sure if they'll ever see a minute of game time though!

I just have Wales loaded...otherwise it slows down a bit too much, and i wanted to get through seasons as quickly as possible. Ive been poaching the youngsters from my rivals...im hoping enough of my cast offs will fill the league and raise the standard overall. My team rep has gone up, so thats something lol

I lost 7-3 on aggregate in my Champions Cup qualifier to Debrecen.. ah well there's always next year. Do you get Europa League qualifiers if you go out at the CL qualifier stage?

I managed to line up a 50m deal for a 31 year old Ronaldo, but the bastard wouldn't listen to me  I even tried to lure him with the captains armband!

Definitely going to have to start a new save with my new laptop.

Something youth focused or restricted.

Bilbao, perhaps, Crewe or Middlesbrough with some self imposed transfer/squad limits. Maybe Sassuolo, if their youth setup is half alright.

Won the first leg of a CL quarter final against liverpool 5-0, simmed the next leg as I thought it was in the bag and I lost on pens. Also conceded 4 pens in one half to Bayern.

I've finally got a grips of this, but I'm playing boring football and don't score enough. Once I use wingers my defence goes to shit.

Started with United, iffy first season but managed to come 3rd in the league. Next season we were 7th and I got sacked.
Took over a struggling Sevilla, got them up to 6th, came 5th the next season then struggled again. Got sacked.
Went to a struggling Southampton, with a very good young team. Won the Euro Cup and came 7th.

Still with Southamptoon this season, sitting in 8th atm, about 9 points from 1st to 8th. Came through our Champions League featuring Madrid, Zenit and Porto. Have Juve in next round.

Looks pretty dodgy for me... the results are so eratic even as Manchester United.

I think i'm going to wait for a new patch, it's pretty hair pulling atm :( or am i just not getting things right?

I started badly on both my saves, the Southampton 1 though I gained ridiculous consistency. I was Bottom 3 after 7 games (lost 4, drew 2, won 1) and then went on a run where I won 12 in a row, lost 1 after that and then went unbeaten for ages with draws and wins before losing a couple again. I don't think it's erratic in fairness. If you think a new coach has come in so it could be a new system etc.

I lost 7 in total in the Southampton season. 2 to Chelsea, 2 to City, 1 to Arsenal, 1 to Spurs and then 1 to Leicester it was which isn't to bad really, it was pissing me off at first though but glad I stuck with it. It seems once you get consistency with a decent team will get a good run going.

Thing is with United, half my players would sulk if I don't get top 3 soon enough :(

This game makes me hate Rooney, he's a fecking primadona culprit complaining on everything

Moyes effect that!! ;)

I had a few of mine complain but ater a while it did just seem to click. I'm not expert on the game but it did just seem to be whilst they were getting used to the tactics. It went from "Competent" to "Accomplished" and with that came a lot of consistency.

Finished my first season with United.

Shipped out -

Young to Everton - 9 mil
Anderson to qpr - free
Carrick to west ham - free

Got in -

Balanta
Munir

United managed to win the league double. Thn sent RVP to Bayern for 15 mil and got in Depay for the same amount. Falcao has agreed to extend his loan contract for one more season. Got in a kid called Tielemans to replace Carrick for 12 mil at 17 years. I hope he turns out good.

Any suggestions on any new RB and RAM? Is Varela any good?

Varela is shit.
Try Gino Peruzzi, if you can get him cheap.
Lots of good RAM's, I like Bilal Basacikoglu, worth a scout.
Is the biggest prospect in the game.

Bought Mitrovic from Anderlecht for 13 Million in the summer as I sold Locadia to Burnley for around the same money. The guy (Mitrovic) is fecking useless. Scouts recommended him to me at 4.5*PA and he's now on 3.5*, just can't score. Dropped him and Bonazzoli comes in and gets a brace so the Serbs days are numbered!

@Joemo,
It's fun. I'm also on classic. I chose TNS too, just to accelerate the process. Maybe in the future I'll go for one of the semi-pro clubs.

Done a few seasons now.
Walking the league, and usually winning at least one domestic cup, but obviously struggling in Europe. Had Champions league one year, missed out on Europe altogether the next (which was awful for our finances) and then just got knocked out in the groups again this season. Each win and draw brings in huge money in the group stages.

We've had some real improvements made to our youth and training facilities though. And the coefficients have changed, which means that the Welsh Champions now have one less round to go through in Europe. Just signed Ravel Morrison too.

Basically, at this stage, everything hinges on us getting to the group stages every year. Two seasons of failing to qualify would be disastrous for the club. Despite a big increase in sponsorship income, the domestic money and interest just can't sustain our wages. We lose money every month, so Europe is the only way to make a profit.
The squad is improving year on year though, so it shouldn't be long before getting into the group stages is a formality.

It's fun. I recommend it just as something a bit different.

Got a couple of good 4/5* PA Dutchies coming into the first team at the moment. A little light in CAM/CM and needed to use them a little and have played relatively well.

I'm dominating with Betis now, so I think the save is coming to an end unless a good job becomes available soon. Took a good few years to finally start winning leagues and cups, and it was frustrating as feck. I've lost count of how many formations and styles I've tried, but I tried a sort of 4-2-3-1 like this:

GK
CD(D) CD(D)
WB(A) A(D) WB(S)
DLP(S)
AM(A) AP(S) T(A)
AF(A)
We score goals for fun, and its surprisingly solid enough, finishing third lowest for goals conceded last year. I could never get wingers/inside-forwards to work properly, so I tried a few narrow formations and stumbled across this. Not sure how well the formation would work with non-elite teams, I'd imagine it might struggle. Gonna try it in my next save and see how it gets on.

I'm struggling keeping a clean sheet, I'm currently 13 games into the PL season, 20 goals conceded and 51 scored. I'm outscoring teams, but never get a clean sheet.

I'm Arsenal, my backline is Courtois, Rafael, Koscielny, Balanta, Rodriguez.

I also have Bender/Romero playing in front to protect them...that don't seem to be working!

Ajax are fecked this year on my save

9 points behind me after only 15 games. Lost 5 games!

I slightly feel sorry for them

Edit: lost another home game now to make it 6 defeats in 16

Edit Deux: I just smashed them 5-1 the following game

Edit Tres: GO AHEAD EAGLES best them 2-1 now

I'm starting to think you don't actually feel sorry for them.

"Oi gaffer, we're all pissed off you won't sell our best player"

Bunch of gimps.

Poor season from my PSV team combined with the emergence of Twente from literally nowhere. That've been unstoppable. I'm undefeated in something like 20 games right now and I'm 13 points behind them!
