I have to admit the "Usual CA/PA changes" in his description got me a little suspicious too. What did he do for example?
I can't remember exactly, but I remember being unimpressed for the most part, he definitely knocked a few points of Basti, but on the flip side, he increased Herrera's shooting(which was needed) and absolutely nerfed Balotelli(maybe too much, even).

I checked out pr0's beta, looked alright(but at the time I tried it was before late tranfers like Martial were added), and Steve85's(all he done was England, IIRC).

In terms of CA/PA he didn't change much, I think it's a total of 23 players he edited, haven't found a transfer he didn't do, playing in Bundesliga currently.

Finally found something interesting to do.

Loaded up an old Athletic Club Bilbao save from summer 2019, resigned, and waited for an interesting offer to come in.

Everton! In a relegation battle, but with a squad that should be doing better, and a relatively massive budget to work with in 40m & 245kpw spare wages.

Looking at it, there are some real upsides. Still have Stones being the main one, but Vietto, Ibarbo, Coleman, McCarthy, Gruezo and Quintero are the core of a real strong 4-4-1-1 side.

Some notable weak points too, 35 year old Baines should be a backup(and the current LB backup is shit), Son Heung-Min is bang average, and I don't particularly rate a 37 year old Valdez either(his backup is too young and undeveloped to start regularly).

Also, depth is mostly crap. Miralles, Ozyakup and Gutierrez being the only real exceptions.

EDIT: Actually, not happy with this, signed under expectations to avoid relegation, and a day later it somehow changes to qualify for the Europa....

I started a new save with a fully updated database after the transfer window closed, and I've been tearing up the league so far
Bought Reus for around 50m, and that was it transfer wise.

Martial has 14 goals and 4 assists in 11 appearances
Reus has 12 goals and 17 assists in 14 appearances
Mata has 9 goals and 9 assists in 14 appearances
Memphis has 8 goals and 6 assists in 13 appearances
Rooney has 8 goals and 3 assists in 5 appearances (3 starts, 2 subs.. Was injured for a bit)

Absolutely ridiculous start to the season from my front 4.

Edit: Martial got 3 hat tricks after I posted this in a row (one of them being 4 goals... beast)

I've had an amazing start to the season with Ajax. Playing 4-3-1-2 with Milik and El Ghazi up front. El Ghazi has 15 in 15 but Milik went goal crazy  He has 24 in 16. He went on a run of scoring in 11 consecutive games, and scored 22. He hit three consecutive hat tricks, with 4 goals, 3 goals then 5 goals. 14 games in the league, 13 wins and 55 goals. In my CL group with Chelsea, Porto and Salzburg I've won 3 and drawn 1 and scored 18 goals in that. Mental form.

I just went for a basic shape on standard and kept to simple roles on very fluid. Then just use shouts in game. Never change from standard mentality and it has worked a treat.

Should have looked at this a bit closer before accepting.

With the large 40m budget, I stretched it to 68m of buying, bringing in...
1, a top young (regen) goalkeeper to replace Valdez(who's contract was then terminated),
2, a (regen) striker that was transfer listed at Barca, who they'd only bought off Porto 6 months earlier(bought for 17, sold for 17), 21 years old and already 20 caps for Portugal,
3, a left back, Ben Davies, to start ahead of Baines,
4, a wide mid, Mats Moller Daehli, to start over Sin Heung-Min,
5, and this CM from Boca, who I've never heard of before, but looks a smashing BWM(s).

c524381ac6e50553598d1625ba4c3348.jpg

Which was all good, but I'd forgotten to check their finances. They were bad, and almost 100m in debt *before* I blew my wad, and had only 30% of sales available to add to transfer budget. So, they're massively in the hole. Heh. It's manageable though, and with 5 out of 5 wins, we're marching up the table.

Also, two days after I signed, I got a message that a consortium is in takeover negotiations, which may fix everything.

I took a job at Udinese, saved them from relegation and lost, I think, 3 games, in the new season including a shocking result against Atalanta.

Got summoned in to a board meeting about it told them that if they care that much about one game then its best if I leave and they called my bluff.

Guess I'm job hunting again.

All's well that ends well I guess.

14th in the league, haven't won it in over 10 years. Guardiola sacked, 4 times Premier League champions Manchester City up first. Oh boy.

Edit: The squads, absolutely horrific too and the balance is dreadful. I might actually enjoy this.

Just decided to do something a little different in a CL match against Roma. Usually I go for fast, attacking 433 or 4231 with strong wide players, this time I went with a narrow, defensive, sort-of-possession-minded 41311 system. Ended up winning 3-0, with a surprisingly low 57% of possession. Usually those other two formations give me 60-70% possession in that kind of game. The really weird thing was the pass statistics...

If you combine the subs' stats with the stats of the player each replaced (Schweinsteiger & Schneiderlin, Herrera & Blind, Pereira & Crisetig), those come to:

GK: 9/10
RB: 68/75
CB: 14/21
CB: 18/21
LB: 50/58
DM: 97/102
CM: 116/125
CM: 121/132
CM: 125/130
AM: 88/100
ST: 30/32

I've never seen a stand under construction before on this. Thought it was a nice touch.

Just got a world class goalkeeper regen in my youth ranks with United. His name is Gerrard, Myles Gerrard, future Man Utd legend. I have mixed feelings about that one.

Give him a nickname "Myles", pretend his dad abanonded him in his youth and you are taking him in as a father figure.

I once had 2x Gianluca's coming up from the youth system, it drove me mad before I gave them nicknames to just their first names.

Ye, use in game editor. Can't have a Gerrard at Utd.. Is he related to Gerrard? Could be his son...

I've just started a new save with pr0's database update, playing with Eintracht Frankfurt. I decided to play with no transfer budget in the first window because well, all transfers are up to date. But apparently Trapp, who has left in real life for PSG (and in-game obviously) was listed as the captain. And when I changed captain to someone else, because well you know, he isn't on the team anymore, the team critizices me for not giving him enough of a chance as captain. I mean really?

WTF. Memphis, Berardi, and Shaw have all just started complaining that they haven't had enough first-team football. 14 games into the season, and they've played 11, 10, and 9 respectively. Memphis and Berardi are set as rotation options as well. What's going on?

Quick question. How do the FM graphics like the match engine run for you?

I have a 2013 Dell XPS 27" all in one PC which unfortunately runs a notebook graphics card, the Nvidia GeForce 640M 2GB, which is soldered to the motherboard and non upgradable.

Match engine is only fluid on low settings and I'm worried whether FM 2016 will even have a decent match engine experience on low.

What's your set up and how have you found match engine graphics on it?

tell them, that you´ll give them a run of games and continue to use them in a similar fashion and they´ll be fine.
I used the "it's still early in the season, you'll get chances later on" option, hopefully they won't start complaining again later in the season.

I doubt that the new game will have noticeably higher system requirements than the current one, I reckon you'll be fine. Do they still offer a demo each year? That'd be the perfect way to see how well it runs without having to splash out on it...

Yes, there's going to be a demo this year.

After finding out in my experiment that players names you add you add to the editor can be assigned to regens, I have come up with a good idea for a game.

If I add a few players to the game with names you would recognize, then start a game without real player names, add a club via the editor and set yourself the restriction of only signing players with the required names. Could be god for a laugh.

Now Rooney has complained too - he's played only 7 out of 18 so far, but he's been injured for half of those so really it's 7/9. The fecker wouldn't even accept the "it's early in the season", so he's now upset and wants to leave. He can feck right off. Martial and Berardi both have 11 goals, Memphis has 6 (same as Rooney), and Mata has 5, so it's not like I'm having problems scoring goals without the fecker.

Sounds like a good one, though it could end up being really difficult. Depending on what club you choose you'll either not be able to sign the better players or just not be able to buy any ones that are good enough... :p

The idea of starting without real names is that it should populate the game with a wider spread of those players.

Yeah, but you'd be adding like 30 players, right? That's 60 names (first name, last name). The database probably has tens of thousands of potential names in it, so that's a 60/10,000 chance that any given player will be one of the ones you're allowed to sign. You could get lucky and end up with a Messi with the name, but the chances of that are tiny. They'll be more likely to be a bunch of average players with the occasional PL-standard one available.

Very true, only not really looking to do that good with it, just a bit of fun to see how it goes. If I manage to play in the premier league all the better.

@Earthquake i started my shakthar game, it's interesting.

First of all, I'm playing on 14 because I can't stand 15, I think it's the worst incarnation of the game since the split.

They have a massive squad, I've never seen anything like it and most of their Brazilian imports seem to be co-owned.

I was given my choice of target and selected league winners and then checked my expectations, they don't care about the Ukrainian cup and expect me to get to the 1st knockout stage of the champions league. To achieve this they game me a transfer budget of £55m and a wage budget of just under £1m.

Despite having a mentally huge squad they had very little in the way of striking options, so I spent £15m on a striker called doumbia, he has scored 15 in 15 so far so that is a decent bit of buisness, I signed an attacking midfielder too who is very creative. Then after the window shut and my champions league campaign was starting I noticed that my full backs who I play as attacking full backs were struggling a touch, so I broke the bank to sign both Clyne and Daley Blind who will arrive on jan 1st.

Champions league group stage results so far:

Shakthar 1-1 Sociadad.
Arsenal 0-0 Shakthar.
Shakthar 3-0 Ajax.

Cheers for the update, interesting stuff!

Weird about all the Brazilians, but they're like that, every year in the CL they have some new unknown Brazilian who ass fecks some team before making a move to a bigger team.

Doumbia's an odd one in real life, was at CSKA, moved to Roma last Jan, and is now on loan, at CSKA.
